No probably not. Congrats kwynne42 on your many posts, and thanks for making me laugh.

Squire Robert, you are meant to be lusting after scrap yard merchant and all round miserabilist and woolly hat wearer Aaron. Leave Ross to me*.

*[when he gets interesting again. In the mean time, I'm with Cain drinking tea].

Tbh, some people are clearly already getting fed up with Ross - the evidence is right here. And it's because he's been a bit overused, and misused. I still think he's got potential, but they need to stick him in the background a bit when Charley goes off on maternity, and think of a new direction for him. Maybe stop the assault/car stealing merry go round and give him a bit of depth. Lusting after Debbie certainly isn't giving it to him.

Point taken both, people genuinely dislike him. I don't agree, obviously, but I accept that.

I sometimes also feel like a troll on here for being too positive, if it helps.”

I've been accused of the same myself, believe it or not

You should feel free to criticise and/or praise ED as long as you can back up your argument IMO. I absolutely agree that Cain had to develop, but my fear is that many viewers see this as 'boring, ' not interesting, and that producers might decide to go down the easier route of replacing him with a new bad un, not continuing to have faith in a well established, fascinating character. Although Kate Oates did invest a lot of time in the excellent Laurel alcoholism story and the Charity and Jai stuff, so maybe I'm jumping the gun and she does find middle aged characters worthwhile. Who knows maybe some of the old ones will get a good story soon

For the past few years, though, Debbie, Aaron, and Ross have dominated the show. Yes, they are young and pretty, but I need a break from them. Also, why can none of them do chemistry???Actually that might be because they're all too knackered from over work

Young(ish), yes, I'll agree with that bit. But only in age numbers. Betty, Pearl and Sandy were (are) all far younger in spirit.
Pearl is still very attractive I think. Although she's now in her eighties, I'd love to see a pic of Meg Johnson in her twenties.
I could never find Cain boring. He was heading that way for a while, but he's back!

BIB: Yes please. I guess we had Pearl's gambling addiction stuff, which was quite good. And I may be alone in this, but I loved all the stuff about Edna when Laurence first came in, it's such a shame they've shoved him on a backburner while Robert shoves Aaron against a wall.

Personally, I'd like to see Diane get something to do, though it'll be hard with Val leaving. And Zak. I like Zak a lot. His scenes reliving his younger days with Ross were actually pretty good. I like him with Belle, and Cain. I even think Debbie seems more human when she's around him. So more Zak please.

I'll happily take a long break from Debbie and Aaron (permanent, in the case of Aaron). And I honestly never thought I'd say it, but Ross as well now. Give the guy a holiday, then a change of direction. He can discover a great love of pigs or something, and set up a farm with Zak. He'd surely have more chemistry with the pigs than he has with Debbie. Not sexually obviously, that'd be odd.

Yes, yes, yes!

More Zak, more Edna and Lawrence. Hell, even more Edna with Aaron would work. There are a lot of excellent characters on the show most of which are overlooked to give the Dingles something to do.

Sorry but the Dingles are hurting the show, every story that is to last a year or so happens to one of them while the rest of the characters get half a year stories. It's time that changed.

I agree. More Edna, more 'nice' Lawrence, build on their story; more Zak, more Cain and have them come to a better understanding of each other, more Cain and Chas too, I love their relationship; more Ashley, Sandy, Harriet, Laurel (sans Marlon), Bernice (serious stories, not comedy relationships)and Moira
Give Andy more to do - he was good in the aftermath of Katie's death.

I agree about Robert. I like to watch him, but he is in danger of being over used.

Oh Spungey, I bet you wouldn't turn up your nose at a part in a soap There are quite a few poor to average ones but that doesn't mean they all are. I don't think the problem is with Michael Parr's acting. He can only work with what he's given and he's being written as an immature annoying little g*b@@*te. At least he's not the guy who plays Callum in Corrie

I think I remember Spunger saying a while back that he joined an agency to be an extra in Emmerdale but never got to be one. Apologies if I've got the wrong person - I definitely remember it was someone who criticises ED a lot.

Ah I see..........evil Chas and evil Paddy are interfering in St Robert and Poor Aaron's star crossed relationship, and so they deserve all they get.

Or could it be that Aaron's family are concerned about the effects of him being in an adulterous, abusive relationship with a complete *****?

Nah, must be the first one.

They are by no means all poor but I do think the overall standard has dropped in both CS and ED, especially CS. I just dont with this he or she is a great actor. I have seen Michael Parr do some good scenes but he's also thrown in some really terrible ones as well. It Though i would agree he's miles better than the guy who plays Callum in CS.
Danny Miller is another massively overrated actor on here. At best he's a very average soap level actor. So too the actress who plays Victoria. On what acting planet is she good Bloody terrible actress if you ask me.
If I was Michael Parr I would get away asp. He's now got enough experience under his belt and if he wants to become a good actor he will have to leave and find a role where you can at least have the time to rehearse and learn from good actors.
And yes, I would love a role in a soap. £100,OOO a year sure beats what I do. I nearly collapsed last Wednesday in that blistering heat .

Thanks.

I'm not going anywhere. I've just gave up watching ED until a new producer takes over and stops this show from being the ludicrous OTT farce that it has become.

ts that time again so drum roll for

Analysis centrals Midweek Awards for Emmerdale

1 Current Star of the show - the lovely yellow fields of Oil Seed rape in the scene with Belle and Joanie

2) Biggest Continuity error of this or any other year Award - Goes to the fields of Oil Seed Rape, by mid July the yellow flowers have gone and it looks more like a boring wheat field until it is harvest in a month or so's time. You can definitely tell this was filmed in Late May /Early June

3) The Lets hope Neither Eden or Denise has Hayfever award goes to - You guessed it The Fields of Oil Seed rape win their 3rd award for being a terrible cause of Hayfever.

4) The Biggest idiot for getting into Debt award - Bob wins this one for being a prize idiot for taking a pay day loan he can't pay back to pay the bank loan he couldn't pay back and the money Carly Stole from Brena which he can't pay back, only slightly less idiotic than Fletch in Holby City who has never heard of benefits..

5) The Sheer Dumb Villain Award - Goes to Carly who keeps making things worse and worse by lying and thieving while being terrible at it.

6) Melodratic Bland Brenda Award goes to Bland Brenda for being melodramic thinking just because she has mislaid some money automatically means you have a brain tumour.

7) Giant Honking big nosed creep award goes to - Robert for doing dastardly things for the fun of it

8) Worst actor in any scene - goes as always to Aarseon because he has never been acted well

9) The Mind your own bloody Business award goes to Paddy for not minding his own bloody business.

10 The VIle Val Vileness award as always predictably goes to vile Val.
