Did Kath Beedles kill off Matthew King?
I wish he'd been kept in the show. And Carl.

Anita Turner killed Matthew.
I THINK it was SB that killed Carl, but Tom Lister had made no secret of the fact that he was looking for another job. He'd tweeted about auditions.

It was SB that killed Carl off, in the live ep, for shock value. I remember hearing or reading the actor say he hadn't wanted to go and would have stayed for as long as they wanted him.

I'm very rarely bothered when soap characters are killed off but Carl King was one of the rare exceptions, he was brilliant and it's a shame his son wasn't in it longer after he was killed off.

He would have had to have been instantly recast.

Yes me as well,Carl getting killed off was terrible and totally finished the Kings as a presence in the village. It turned Jimmy into a stooge character, don't get me wrong I do think Nicola and Jimmy work well together however Jimmy is relegated to the idiot sidekick. The Kings were a very rich and powerful family when they came into the village, they fell too far and too fast. Also forgetting the fact that all the boys except Max had a lot of business experience, but Jimmy is now out manoeuvred by Charity in business
If she was as good as implied, she would have returned to the village last time as a successful businesswoman rather than the runaway bride of a fridge salesman

Surely in soap law Emma can't get away with her actions of changing a child test results? (Yes I know Rakesh has done the same but have you seen the man's face? - I forgive you) Also why does James still pick his fingers, in the cafe? Gives me the dry boak. Why haven't they taken their 'love' lol and fecked off?

And I am not enjoying Adam stomping about the Hospital talking about 'my boy' or calling baby Johnny 'big man.'

No wonder Vanessa ran away.
Having to put up with him being there is enough to drive the poor woman mad.
Actually, I have another idea as to why Nessa ran away.

I know the guy who played Matthew King wasn't the best actor, but I thought the character was worth keeping.
Same with Carl.
And as crunchie crisp said earlier, the powerful and rich King family fell too far too fast.

Did she not act the "diva" with the cast and crew so she had to go?

Years ago when I watched ED there was a rule about the soap, anyone who was absolutely rubbish was not kept on too long, the holiday park family was just one example. The EPs seemed to sense when someone wasn't working out and canned them. So why have subsequent producers kept on dead wood?

Blackburn (!!!) with his Amy s/ls was grim, his Jackson and what he wants was even grimmer and his prime position he gave to Val was just dreadful as the woman could only act panto. He seemed to delight in keeping on unwatchable characters and he has done the same in Corrie. Lets hope the new EP at ED will be so much better. We can only hope!

I'll agree. Rosemary was a great character. I know they tried to replace her with Natasha Wylde but that doesn't worked at all.

This could give an indication why she had to leave:

She most definitely did!! With bells on. Hence Kath Beedles having her body dug up and carted off in the rubbish lorry.

If Twitter is anything to go by, the cast of Corrie are alleged to have cheered out loud when the Stuart Blackburn is leaving announcement was made!!

Yes, Linda Thorson is alleged to have been a nuisance questioning the Directors instructions and wanting to change the script all the time etc - which is fine on a movie or something like that, but it just slows down filming too much on a soap that has to film lots of scenes each day to meet the schedule.
There just isn't time for all that. They just have to be as good as they can be as fast as they can be and get it all done in as few takes as can be otherwise the overtime bill for ITV would be astronomical and everyone would be filming from 7am till 10pm or later everyday.
So Ms Thorson had to go.

It was also rumoured that she was a bit grand.

But theyve been saying that about Barbara Knox on Corrie for years and she's still there. So I think it was the time consuming bahaviour/cost that lost Linda Thorson her job and lost us Rosemary Vienettia King.

True, although to be fair Linda Thorson was centre stage when she was in Emmerdale, whereas Barbara Knox - along with much of the older cast - has moved largely into the background on Corrie.

Mini Synopisis of Ep
Chrissie had a chat with Rakesh
Lachlan was creepy
Robert told Chrissie he was leaving
He also told his family he wasn't Gay
Victoria was very understanding about the whole thing but talked a just bit too much which caused Andy to work out that Aaron was the last person to speak on the phone to Katie
Priya was unhappy with Rakesh
David moaned a lot
Ross threw his gun in a very shallow river while looking after Moses
And in the type of comedy scene Corrie viewers are probably soon to enjoy Jimmy was menaced comedically by the nephew of the woman who died in his house and had her things stolen,
So Corrie fans you will soon see things like Jimmy and Rodney dithering comedically over how to get the things back
Corrie fans you are sooooooo lucky

Well what a load of nonsense last night's episode was.

Yet another example of how Jimmy has been turned into a buffoon.

I'm so bored by this storyline now that I can't even remember why he is in financial difficulties.
To remember I'd have to put in some effort and I can't be bothered.

I miss the original Jimmy King and his brothers.

I miss the original King family too, Jimmy was quite a ruthless businessman when he first appeared, and quite nasty. Can you imagine the current Jimmy trying to to set someone up, blackmail them for sex then try and force them when they refused?
