Happy belated Birthday!

As for Jimmy/Rodney I think Kate Oates has really brought Jimmy down, its almost like he gets dumber every episode. However I think that could work well on Corrie with Tim , Jason or Kirk. All of them are already portrayed as dumb so it won't be a big stretch of the character.

I doubt it, knowing Emmerdale lately its more likely
Spoiler
Zack cheats on Lisa with Joannie

The old Jimmy King would not be afraid of his shrewish wife and certainly not trembling at the knees because the skank is due out of prison soon. I blame The Hat for Jimmy's decline into stupidity, I just hope the new EP will give Jimmy his balls back!

Ah you sure? he was totally henpecked and afraid of Sadie and his father and his brothers and Charity, no idea where this view of hardman Jimmy has come from

I could accept that to be honest, though I'd rather neither happen.

I'm with you, although if

it could be entertaining

Jimmy's always been a bit of a patsy when it comes to his wives.

He got made a fool of with Sadie - and then he got taken for a mug by Kelly Windsor.

Jimmy's always been the idiot King brother - no idea where folks are getting the notion from that he wasn't.

Granted - it's been taken to extreme measures under Oates & Blackburn though

I wouldn't be surprised if
Spoiler
Joanie snuffed it. When the actress first came back she said that she was on a "longer contract than last time", but I don't recall any mention of it being a permanent one.

Mine you, I like Joanie so I hope it's something different.

Whatever you think of Nicola, skank is not the right word.

Is there ANYTHING you like about Emmerdale? All you do is moan about it so why not just switch off and leave it to people who actually enjoy it?

I thought the Rodney/Jimmy stuff was funny and just a bit of light relief. Do some people expect every storyline to be Shakespeare and nothing less?

Michael Parr is still filming, he tweeted today a picture of him with an ITV cupcake celebrating it's birthday!

Unless he's doing another show for ITV!?

Well the spoilers aren't clear but they report this week Ross is going to tell Debbie he's leaving the village when she says she can't get in a relationship with him.

I believe he's just taking a brief break, he won't be gone for long I reckon, a few weeks tops. I don't know if he actually leaves or anything, just from what I've seen around he's just having an onscreen break.

Hooray !! I can imagine his last scene; he will have sex, with anyone, bash someone on the head, steal their car and drive off in to the sunset. The producer could economise by cutting and pasting these monotonous activities from previous episodes.

You're missing the point. It looks like we're not having a last scene yet.

I know there's a lot of stick given to the Jimmy plot but Nick Miles is so good at comedy that however ridiculous it's saved for me by how funny he is. But hey ho, humour is subjective.

Couldn't work out why last night's seemed better then I realised - no Dross! Think they're back tonight though. Meh.

Even thought it was a bit of a leap for Andy to turn into Sherlock, that final scene of the episode was brilliant. It'll be a shame to see them at loggerheads again - I've liked seeing Andy and Rob sort of getting along.

Analysis of Emmerdale characters, in honour of and sponsored by the poster whose name I can't be bothered to look up who accused me of hating Emmerdale and so I will only say mostly nice things about the episode

1) Chas - very good at interfering and spotting when people aren't telling the truth.

2) Paddy where did he pop up from just in time to hear a secret from Aaron, he's been off screen for weeks.

3) Andy put 6+6 and divided by 3 together and came to 4 (so much better than adding 2+2 = 4) so clever was he at working out that it woz Rob that done it and not Aaron.

4) Robert was alarmed to see Andy worjing it out bet he thought Andy didn't have it whatever it is in him.

5) Belle is turning out to be an excellent character but what she see's in Kirin is beyond Kwynne (Kwynne hopes he wasn't too negative here)

6) Kirin does so try to be a good character.

7) Not at all creepy was being not at all creppy spying on Belle and Kirin and then found a gun which is bound to end badly for everyone.

Sidebar - that gun was immersed in the water for a long time so will it Still work
Spoiler

8) The increasingly excellent Chrissie was increasingly excellent

9) Lisa and Zak were only trying to be helpful, they are very trying aren't they.

the its hard to be nice section even though Kwynne is trying very hard.

10) Rodney a woman found him repulsive and then another prefered Jimmy, not a good day for him.

11) Jimmy a woman wanted to nag and shout at him, being married to Nicola he should be used to that

This is of course a storyline that is very hard to enjoy and is best enjoyed being fast forwarded

and finally Aaron, sorry poster I can't be bothered to learn the name of I can't find anything remotely nice to say about the Missing link.

I did not accuse you of hating Emmerdale, don't be so childish. Also, my name is Noxy. Hope you can remember that now. And finally, there is nothing nice to say about Aaron. He is such a waste of atoms, even the Hadron Collider would spit him out in disgust.

Gosh last night’s was a narratively painful episode.

I won’t bang on about the Jimmy / Rodney stuff – except to say it was so cringe that at one point I put my hands to my ears and “lah lah’ed” to myself whilst peeking through half shut eyes till I could see the scene was over!

After waiting for months for the reveal of Katie’s accident – what a narratively contrived piece of tosh.
Watching poor Andy trying to piece things together like he was contemplating the Iliad – and having the writers vocally narrate to us every time a cog turned in his brain and a new enlightenment came to him was painful – like a robot who’d just been given new batteries and was trying to power itself back up.
But the most laugh out loud moment came when he reached the conclusion that it must’ve been Robert because “Aaron is a decent bloke”

Ha – I have to take my hat off to Aaron for managing to convince everyone around him that he’s a decent bloke who would never try to do bad things to people – I suppose it’s amazing how bursting into tears can elicit everyone’s sympathy eh?

He got involved in an illegal car stealing / breaking enterprise
He got involved in a house burgling scam at home Farm
He carried an unconscious Lawrence out to an outbuilding, where the guy eventually had a heart attack
He had an affair with a guy who was engaged to be married & continued with that affair after the marriage
He was complicit in the cover up off Katie’s death
He smashed a bottle over James Barton’s head
His actions put the lives of his immediate family in mortal danger and created a huge amount of grief to many others – and many more lives were turned on their head when he revealed that affair.
He has continued to lie through his teeth to all & sundry about everything.

And yet he still carries the position with everyone of being a “decent” bloke

I know Danny Miller is popular and wins the show awards – but for the sake of a bit of narrative reality – I really wish they’d drop this “Aaron is a saint” stuff and have at least SOME of the other characters rip him a new one.
Aaron as the constant “victim” has become tediously laughable!

This is what you said

"Is there ANYTHING you like about Emmerdale? All you do is moan about it so why not just switch off and leave it to people who actually enjoy it?"

Not being funny but compared to some people i'm positively sunny in my views.

and I'm allowed to hate Aaron am I heh

This is something we most certainly agree on.
