But the most laugh out loud moment came when he reached the conclusion that it must’ve been Robert because “Aaron is a decent bloke”

Ha – I have to take my hat off to Aaron for managing to convince everyone around him that he’s a decent bloke who would never try to do bad things to people – I suppose it’s amazing how bursting into tears can elicit everyone’s sympathy eh?

He got involved in an illegal car stealing / breaking enterprise
He got involved in a house burgling scam at home Farm
He carried an unconscious Lawrence out to an outbuilding, where the guy eventually had a heart attack
He had an affair with a guy who was engaged to be married & continued with that affair after the marriage
He was complicit in the cover up off Katie’s death
He smashed a bottle over James Barton’s head
His actions put the lives of his immediate family in mortal danger and created a huge amount of grief to many others – and many more lives were turned on their head when he revealed that affair.
He has continued to lie through his teeth to all & sundry about everything.

And yet he still carries the position with everyone of being a “decent” bloke

I know Danny Miller is popular and wins the show awards – but for the sake of a bit of narrative reality – I really wish they’d drop this “Aaron is a saint” stuff and have at least SOME of the other characters rip him a new one.
Aaron as the constant “victim” has become tediously laughable!”

Agree with Sheepie - I didn't know whether to laugh or throw something at the telly when Andy came out with that line... Since when has Aaron been a decent bloke..... If Andy had been talking about Pete, then maybe it would be understandable but Aaron - no, where did that come from? Be interesting to see Andy's reaction when he finds out that the Decent Bloke has been covering up the truth around Katie's death for months - won't think he's so decent then I'm sure.

Ok, I'm gonna have to step in and defend my boy Aaron. Yes Aaron has done some bad things, but he always shows remorse for them and that is what Andy meant. Aaron is far from a saint but he's not a manipulator or schemer like Robert.

Right, so if I covered up someone's death because I put my own sexual feelings towards someone before the grieving feelings of said dead person's widow, that makes me decent as long as I cry a bit?

LOL no it doesn't, but Aaron shows remorse for what he does. I'm not trying to justify his actions either I'm saying over all he is a good guy, doesn't set out to hurt people and has genuine remorse when he does wrong just like most human beings. Aaron is not evil or bad, he is just someone who doesn't always make the right decision.

But Andy has been grieving for months. When he tried to get to the bottom of it a few weeks back, Aaron covered his tracks again. Andy nearly topped himself at one point. But none of that was enough to make Aaron tell Andy the truth, because he cares more about Robert. Only a selfish person would do that, and IMO a selfish person is a bad person.

When Andy tried to kill himself Aaron still thought Katie just fell through the floor and didn't know about Robert pushing her so he didn't think there was anything to hide at that point. I think Aaron was scared and didn't know how to handle the situation. Just like when Pete buried Ross alive, he wasn't thinking straight, was nervous and trying to cover his tracks.

Like I said in the post - it's amazing how crying about stuff after it's been done can garner everyone's sympathy and make them see you as a decent bloke

I'm just endlessly bored of Kate Oates's never-ending portrayal of gay characters as constant victims.
Aaron being constantly portrayed as the poor wee "gay boi" has grown decidely old for me as a viewer!
His entire role in this storyline has been driven from the point of narrative that he "fell in love" - and that singular point has been used to excuse his EVERY action!

Finn has become the most pathetic gay victim character the show has ever had - disappeared into obscurity since the A-gays arrived except for that god-awful 5 minute storyline about a boyfriend with HIV - oh, and to be used by Aaron as "jealousy- bait" so the A-gays could get it on!

If the show is to let the Robron fandom have it's way - then they're going to have to go down the road of Robert being a victim of his shame about his sexuality.

Good points, but even Pete is more interested in this stupid feud with Ross. Any sensible person would do the right thing; rise above it and treat Ross like he didn't exist.

Apart from Aaron being the one to lure her there to expose his secret shag, apart from Robert being present when she fell through the floor, apart from the fact that no one even bothered to call an ambulance, apart from the fact that Katie had been right about Robert all along, and he had been manipulating and threatening her?

Tell you what, if I'm ever in court for covering up a death, I'll tell them I was nervous and confused, and then cry a bit. That should work.

I don't think its Aaron's crying that makes him sympathetic to me, Debbie could cry all day and I doubt I'd have any sympathy for her.

I do think you're right about the depressing stories that Aaron has been given, its time for a change and time to see him happy. I read the article yesterday that said Danny Miller would like to see Aaron get a light hearted story.

In some deluded way,the writers seem to think that is 'funny' and 'lighthearted' to write Jimmy and Rodney that way for the viewers.
