According to Goodle Maps there is an Emmerdale Street in Jurupa Valley California very close to LA

Analysis central general themes of last night episodes

1) Ashleys diagnosis - why are Soap doctors so evasive and not tell patients what they want to hear, Ashley was scared and shaken enough without the Doctor infuriatingly refusing to roughly tell him how long he might, I know the Doctor could tell him muchbut surely she would know that Ashley as soon as he could would be on the Internet trying to find out.

2) What is it with Emmerdale and the medical storylines, living in Emmerdale is as unhealthy as it is crime ridden, is it now time for a Doctor to be cast as a regular, then they could act like Karl Kennedy in neighbours being an expect on every type of medical problem, we have Rakesh for Legal Storylines why not a new character for medical.

3) Kerry - Would she really have gone instantly blind without warning, of course she is almost an unhealthy eater as Kwynne is but of Course Kwynne doesn't drink or smoke so it not all bad.

Back to Kerry though, maybe this time she will listen to the doctors.

4) Would Tess really be able to flip flop between different classes, surely the head teacher would be cross by now.

5) Why meanwhile have we never heard of Leo being trouble for anybody before, surely Tess has been bad for him not good.

6) Cain may well finally treat his son as his son.

7) Nikhil plan to make Jai work on the shop floor was inspired but of course nobdoy ever does any work there eiother

Ways How to Kill Aaron part 62.

Aaron is walking down the street when out of control Bernice and Kerry run him over and knock him in front of James landrover and he was killed instantly

Way how to Kill Aaron part 63

Jai wants to kill his brother Nikhil because of the drug addled ones sense of injustice, but in a drug fuelled rage mixes him up with Aaron and Aarons head is crushed by the sweet conveyer belt and Aaron dies messily

Way How kill Aaron part 64

Jai is cross with Aaron and put him in the container where he put Charity, unlike Charity nobody notices Aaron is missing and when they find him the rats have eaten Aaron alive

Weekly Bulletin of the Malt Shovel

Chaos was caused this week when a sink hole opened up on the A61 near Hotten traffic had to be diverted onto the Robblefield road and traffic through Emmerdale was chock a block last Friday evening, an alternative diversion was in place by Monday so traffic through the village eased.

David son of Eric pollard had an accident on Friday he hurt his arm when a visitor on home farm land was shooting clay pigeons, on one occasion he missed and the heavy clay object smashed into David's arm hurting it quite badly

Police are warning of a male flasher who keeps exposing his private parts to women on public footpaths near the village.

The local wildcat has struck again it killed 3 of Moira barton prized sheep, James barton fired his shotgun at the beast but missed and hit one of Farmer Giles's escaped (again) Lama's killing it instantly

Farmer Giles is furious with James.

I just found these on Buzzfeed and it really made me laugh:

Americans trying to label European countries

and (for balance, and just as bad)

Brits trying to label US states.

”

I have to admit, I could label the US ones far better than the European ones.

LOL, out of the European countries I think I know England, Russia, Italy and thats about it. Now I'd struggle with some of the New England States and those out west that are all square like Wyoming

All Americans are Irish.

The lad in the advert, with all the hair reminds me of the bloke in the "Confessions" films.

Mark - Ohio is a STATE in the USA. Ireland is a COUNTRY in Europe. Incidentally have you heard of Wales or Scotland?

I had no idea the American schooling system was so insular.

I've heard of Wales but not sure what is, I just know Prince Charles is the prince of Wales and yes I've heard of Scotland but again I couldn't pin point it on a map. I honestly don't think I ever heard to map out European countries on a map in school. I know we did the sates of course the continents, and when I took Ohio history we had to do the counties in Ohio and I had to map out South American countries when I took Spanish but that is it.

And yet Ohio is far bigger than Ireland with 3 times as many people living in it as Ireland.

I do find it odd & somewhat arrogant how Europeans dismiss the States within the USA as being of lesser importance than the "Countries" of Europe simply because European countries have autonomy of government.

To be fair to Mark, I did part of my secondary education outside the UK in a good old former British colony. Although we did exams from the UK, our syllabus was not Euro-centric (other than history). I would struggle with the European map as well - probably more than the US.

I know it's fashionable to slate the US education system but I have a friend who has a PhD from Cambridge and she wasn't sure earlier this year whether the then elections were national or local and this was days before the vote.

I think we should all be wary of casting aspersions on what others do or don't know....I mean haven't we all watched some reality stars with dropped jaw at their ignorance?

Here endth the Jewels lecture of the day,

So because Ireland is smaller it's less important?

I know loads about the united States. It's weird the USA don't teach much external stuff though given theor ancestral make up

They do teach some stuff, I remember we learned about the British Empire and the religious wars when I took history in high school, but they might not see delving deep into European history and geography beneficial to kids in the US. Plus I guess if you want to I'm sure some colleges offer European history and geography classes that would cover the stuff they don't teach in grade school.

I know Britain and US, but haven't got the faintest idea about Europe. I could label France, Germany as I think it's next to France, Spain, Italy because it's shaped like a boot, and er that's it. Sorry europe.

Did you learn at school Sorcha or just through general knowledge and your own natural curiousity? As I mentioned, my school overseas concentrated on British history but even then what I know about Irish history (and American) is more from my own love of general knowledge and learning rather than the syllabus at school. Even my general European knowledge is shaky other than the French Revolution, Bismarck and causes of the first world war (hiya, Archduke Ferdinand). Oh and I loved the reunification of Italy....but that's just me.

Learning doesn't stop when you leave school. I'm surprised that people don't seem to want to pick up a globe or an atlas and learn more about the World round them

I never learnt any American history everything I know, i learnt out of school due to my own interest in history.

I don't know if you ever read the Kevin & Sadie books (Joan Lingard) about a romance between a cathoilc boy and a protestant girl in the 70's in NI? That was the first I really understood about the 'Troubles' and the first I knew of the significance of the marching season. None of this learnt in school though.

I'm lucky because I love reading and used to read a ton of historical novels and historical books for kids otherwise if it were just based on school, I would be fairly ignorant.
