We did alot on the American war of independence and African American history
That's interesting you did a lot on African American history as it isn't focused on much in school except for February which is black history month and they always covered the same old stuff no matter what grade I was in.

We did WW2 which I remember involved watching the incredibly boring Schindler's List in class, the Romans, gunpowder plot, great fire, war of the roses, tudors and stuarts. We did nothing on any other countries.

What a shame. I found the civil rights stuff really interesting.

Yes it is and very sad that when you look at the US today we still haven't come much further than back in those days and in some ways we've gone backwards.

In all fairness mark the USA has indeed come a long way. Look at the barbarity in the middle east

This is true but we have police here killing innocent people and getting away with it. Maybe it gets to me more because it hits closer to home than the stuff in the middle east.

I was about 12 when I saw it, the whole class found it boring (especially as the teacher insisted on skipping the only interesting parts to us), maybe if I saw it now I'd see it differently.

No, it still is like watching paint dry.

The families in the ad breaks all with Emmerdale names, i.e the Kings, the Whites, the Dingles etc.

I won't bother looking for a link to watch it then. It's a long film too from what I recall, it took a few lessons to get through it all, even with fast forwarding some scenes.

I posted this on the wrong thread
Have the script writers done their research on TA story line? The TA is able to move to a year 5 class without giving reasons why to the head. Surely the head would want to know why she wants to move classes. Also the year 5 class had display work done by reception children. Why was the TA always on her own in the classroom? Another thing, due to safeguarding being a big thing in schools, how come Paddy was able to walk straight into the classroom?. He'd have to make an appointment to see the head first, then the class teacher if he was concerned about Leo. Some TA's are never to be seen during break, early in the morning or after school. Some busy TA. Where was the class teacher?

Learning doesn't stop when you leave school. I'm surprised that people don't seem to want to pick up a globe or an atlas and learn more about the World round them
yeh but it's so confusing when they keep changing the names.

What was that Northern Soul night all about? Bit random wasn't it?

And I do NOT like where this Zak and Joanie thing is going. Not at all.

John Middleton is breaking my heart.
Harriet and Bob are SO obviously heading towards getting together.

And I think this Paddy stuff is shyte.

Kerry made me laugh when she described herself as looking like Dangermouse.

Anyone seen any Christmas Day spoilers yet?
Is anyone getting married?
Any disasters pending?

Is Nikhil going to kidnap Jai and lock him in that Container shed thingy Jai put Charity in?
And is Sam going to find him there and leave him?
I know that sounds kind of similar to the Jai kidnapping Charity thing - but, hey this is Repeaterdale.

I agree, and it did annoy me a bit to see it. I don't know a lot about schools or teachers' regulations, but I strongly doubt you can just move classes at short notice without giving a proper explanation to your superiour or the need for any paper work to be done.
However, right now this is just one of many aspects of this storyline that don't add up for me.

The biggest problem for me isn't even Paddy or Tess, it's Rhona.

Her friend has a baby at 27(?) weeks who needs surgery days after being born, almost dies and still isn't even out of hospital yet, and that makes her decide she wants another baby? Especially after her own pregnancy was far from easy and she is now 6 years older than she was then?

Even if I'd be willing to accept this, her way of going about the issue is even less believable. She has one conversation with her husband, they decide that having another baby of their own may be too risky after all, so she immediately decides she wants to adopt one instead.
And of course the idea that adopting a child might not mean a new baby in the house at all, but someone around the same age as Leo or even older (usually with a difficult past) does not make Rhona sit back and want to think about it all for another day or two.

Not the mention the fact that you don't just apply for adoption and have a child a few months later, it could easily takes years, and if they are deemed too old by then, it might never happen at all.

If we hadn't already had a hundred affairs this year the Zak and Joanie affair wouldn't actually bother me.

Joanie has really grown on me as a character and I like the double act of her and Zak. Of course they could and should have had it remain a platonic friendship while Lisa perhaps could have suspected them of having an affair behind her back but... Kate Oates likes her affairs so, here we are.

If Belle's new man is going to be hanging around the village I hope they get a paper bag for him to put over his head.

While I like Harriet as a character, she is a terrible crier, almost worse than Robert. Best end the relationship and get Ashley back with Laurel before his health deteriorates for the worse.

Looks like all Cain needed to be a good parent was a son.

I think that Emma has murdered her and buried her under the cow shed or something.

Beats me, you'd think it would be highly appropriate for her to be featured during Cain and son scenes.

If she comes back from the cowshed in 2 weeks with a deep Lanzarote tan, we'll know where she's been, won't we?

In my mind, Moira has been off sunning herself with a toy boy she met at a Young Farmer's do, while Cain bonds with ickle moptop. She'll come back with a spring in her step.
