wont be killing Gordon as far as I know. He will be charged with attempted murder though. I do think this storyline will end in a trial as the writers want it to be treated in a way to encourage other rape survivors to come forward to see justice done properly

Really? How is that going to work then, because apart from Robert Sugden or Tracy Barlow, everyone who turns killer in soap ends up leaving, either through going to prison or ending up in a wooden box of their own. Cain has never been a killer, to turn hm into one would be beyond stupid, even The Hat would have more sense than to do such a thing.
there's a question mark at the end though, pure speculation

You could be right, but everyone on here has been saying Cain has gone soft so maybe this is Kate Oates way of changing this perception.

Wasn't Cain
Spoiler
responsible for the Kings River Explosion? Cuz that means he has killed people.

Yes he was, but not directly like murdering someone would be. Sadie paid him to damage the show home with a jcb, but unknown to them it hit a gas pipe and caused the house to explode. It's not the same thing as outright killing someone.

Ah, okay. It's easy to see why Cain would have this reaction though, we all know how he feels about child abuse.

have had a court case, shown how witnesses are treated within the system and how perpetrators can use the system to gain the upper hand, and manipulate the truth. How much more responsible - and powerful - that would be for this serious issue.
But instead we'll get Cain Dingle and his Vigilante Mob - perhaps even Robert might lend a helping hand....
”
Yes, that would always have been the preferable route. We have to have some sensationalist drama before that though. Here's hoping the eventual court case if we have one is handled well this time.
Previous court scenes have been laughable at best.

See, I like new Cain. He goes up and down in my estimations all the time, but he has gotten a lot better recently.
I think when Diane met Gordon at chemotherapy he was having his last treatment. He said something about getting through chemo with all of his hair intact or something. But let's be honest the cancer was nothing more than a dramatic way of introducing Aaron's dad once more. It's not like Diane's cancer has a modicum of realistic or emotional storytelling.

Hardly surprising considering who it was written by.

Agreed, JoP! Particularly your final point; Gordon getting killed once he has been jailed would have been better.
Saw this on Twitter:
Some cool stuff coming up in #Emmerdale by the way - including a BIG twist next week! You have to watch it to see it, no spoilers before!
I'm personally hoping for the return of Declan Macey, but it's unlikely.

bib: But there is the (literally) small matter of doomed Robbie's death. But if Robert can get away with Katie's death, you never know.
Although the twist could involve Deckers being Moses' real dad (which several posters believed for quite a while)

Poor Dolphin Robbie.
You know I'd love nothing better than for Declan Macey and/or his DNA to return to the village. Jason Merrells is in theatre in London at the moment though, so his tufty head ain't wending its way Dale-wards any time soon.

That's what I'm thinking. Funnily enough I believed Ross was the dad at first but the way recent episodes have played out has me question it a bit more. If they did do this storyline Declan wouldn't even have to return.
I personally don't mind either way. I'm kinda hoping Ross is the real dad so that Emma vs Charity can carry on but then again it'd be great to have a mini Declan.

I really do not believe they would go down that route with one of the staple characters, There is no coming back from that. Cameron and Carl were different. Cameron we always knew he would get his come uppance. Carl was always the long game
