Well I agree on the babies, I'd throw in affairs as well but even so I'd give her B for her over all work on the show.
C+ at a push (on the British scale going down to F)

Wow an F That is rough, if you think that low of Kate Oates, what do you think of Blackburn on Corrie and Emmerdale?

E for Blackburn in Emmerdale

And well for Corrie he gets a U as in unclassified because he failed to even get an F

i'm thinking British marking is a lot more mean than the US

I knew someone who got a U at Uni for an exam, left uni in shame.

LOL I had to look up what U is, its sounds like a really bad F in US terms, but I don't think Blackburn was that bad he did an ok job and compared to some of the train wreck producers on the US soaps he's a genius, now if you ever see Jill Pharren Phelps, Megan McTavish or Charles Pratt taking over one of your soaps then its time worry

Analysis Of emmerdale Characters

Kwynnes views are purely the views of Analysis central

1) Chunk - heh loved his name so thought i'd include it here

2) The mildmannered Cain who people accused him of Knitting is merely hiding the fact like the kids in Karate kid films is doing the fence painting.Car Washing practice to be a ninja or something, so took down Chunk with his little finger. Then he didn't dump Holly so not all bad

3)Hollyoak - never been convinced by the bad acting rap she's got here (of course DS accuse almost everyone of bad acting so had to take seriously most of the time) if you look past her frozen face and ear shattering voice there is a good actress begging and squealing to be let out. Almost went back to heroin and Dean managed to avoid being dumped by Cain and now has a huge crush on him.

To Hollyoak Cain is the new Heroin

How did Cain think the dumping Hollyoak at a bus stop would work anyway

And that plan to trap Dean was very elaborate for these idiots wasn't it?

4) Charity and Dross make an unlikely team.

5) Liv - didn't know whether to laugh or be appalled at the scene in the shop

6) Jayyyycccuuubb bit of a brat to david before he heard about the lump then very concerned.

7) David - Is David now a purely comedy character

8) Bit of a pervert Doctor Bailey seems to like them young

9) Belle - No doubt most young girls would do the same thing if a handsome Dr Came to their rescue

Going to be very Icky this storyline

Crybaby thought thuggish behaviour was funny, how typical

Holly Face watch - she managed to screw up her face to try for emotion, Kwynne was concerned her face is so rigid it might have stuck like that

meanwhile Holly voice decibels rose so high pitched it caused the Sonars of Dlphins to be blocked.

Holly can keep her sticky maulers off Cain and get to the back of the queue.

Not everyone agrees with thatI think he' s long overdue a long stint in the background.
After Robert was shot, Ross was off-screen for 4 weeks and since Debbie left, Ross has generally only had small scenes with his family+Charity which haven't really led anywhere. I think he has been pretty quiet the last 2/3 months. Also Michael Parr has won so many awards recently I dont see why Emmerdale would feel the need to take Ross into the background too much.

Analysis of general themes of last nights Emmerdale and when the crap is the baleful influence of that dreadful producer Kate Oates going to be over.

a wordy title I know.

1) Davids Cancer storyline
Now Kwynne is all for humour in its proper context but i'm not supposed to be laughing hysterically at the utter stupidity of David and Leyla playing a french farce and nakedness in a village shop am I?
I'm sure having David's bum on screen fits the general theme of Male bums on screen but this is supposed to be a serious storyline

2) Jaycubb always being in the wrong place at the wrong time to hear the wrong contect to what's going on.
Firstly stop lurking listening to people conversations
and he always and I mean always misunderstands what's going on
And why was Eric encouraging him in the belief what his mum is coming to visit to get back with David

3) Tracy is now a much better and likable character than when she started.

4) Belle, Joanie and Lisa
All are wrong in this situation
A) Lisa - where does she think she's going to live when she moves? why is she moving anyway, she will still have the bad memories wherever.
B) Belle is being rather childish over the house thing but she certainly shouldn't need to listen to advice from that foul jezebel Joanie
C) Joanie - bog off and stop bothering Belle with your so called advice you foul beast creature.

5) Crybaby and Liv
Liv is a great new character and hopefully she is here to kill and replace crybaby.
She's not you say? what a pity, I still like her but my niece wouldn't for not liking One Direction.

6) Girl with a frozen face and cain and her Mother
Bet Hollyoak was stealing that money
Shut up cain
and Moira getting into bed sorry into business with Charity will only bring trouble.

7)Ashley - fly those kites Ashley

8) Harriet stop apologising and don't be a comedy vicar.

Holy Face watch - Her mouth twitched a bit, I think she was speaking but she was so high pitched only a bat can hear her.
You are right about the memories, but people often think they can avoid them. There is a poem that mentions this:

'There are a hundred places where I fear to go, so with his memory they brim!
But entering with relief some quiet place where never fell his foot nor shone his face
I say, "There is no memory of him here!"
And so stand stricken, so remembering him!'

I'd give her an A+ for the first year and a half.
Since then, never have I been more inclined to switch off, so she gets a big fat D. Good job I'm too invested in some characters to let go just yet.

Hope they get rid of her altogether, the girl needs to go back to acting school, although I doubt if she ever went to any acting classes in the first place. If she did she should demand a refund!

That would be a very good storyline, sheepiefarm. The bathroom and general plumbing at Dingledale could do with the services of a plumber; and it would be nice for Lisa to have a man who worked, unlike Zac who relied on her to earm money to keep the family and give him beer money.
...and the plumber could leave some tools hanging around, a wrench maybe, for Ross to accidentally stumble across, pick up and bash someone over the head with. So, yes, an excellent opportunity for new ideas.

I (sometimes) LOVE early morning Tuesdays and the release of info on the next two weeks.

Glimmers of hope for old blue eyes - Pete gets his release date - hooray!

Glimmers of hope for a teensy-tiny storyline for fox-jumper-wearing Finn - hooray!

I've perked up all of a sudden

So – it seems the Rape & Redeem storyline is heading towards its climax.
And by that, no, I don’t mean the trial of child rapist Gordon Livesy – I mean, the thing that everyone’s talking about – the Re-unification of Robron in a relationship.

Because, let’s face it, apart from giving Danny Miller (and the show) yet another chance to bag awards for his evocative cry-acting - this entire childhood rape storyline has only EVER been about creating a character who could be seen as an even bigger villain / monster than the psychopathic (with murderous tendencies) Robert.
About creating an even more dreadful scenario for Aaron, so that the manipulative & abusive “affair” that was “Robron” could be swept under the carpet and “normalised”.

Why?
Because there is an obsessive and fanatical fanbase to be mined for votes & awards – a worldwide m/m shipping fanbase who are eligible to vote for awards – and vote they will, as many times as they possibly can as long as the show gives them their fix of hot male romance.

Gordon is little more than a plot device – a one-dimensional character who was simply created to be a monster – even at times, veering into ludicrous comedy pantomime with his faking illness at his hearing scenes.

There is little reality in the characters of Robert & Aaron – they have simply become like some Marvel comic-strip gay fantasy characters, living out some gay fantasy fanfiction on the tv screen for the titillation of bored housewives, single women and gay men who immerse themselves in the cult internet world of m/m shipping fandoms.
Of course – the show is happy with that – social media fanaticism brings the show attention as every soap news website want their "cut" and chases after the fans, because every time “Robron” is mentioned by them the traffic to their sites increases.

But you have to ask yourself – what has soap story telling come to, when incestual childhood rape becomes the “plot device”, the backdrop to romanticising a previously abusive gay relationship – simply to chase after and harness the voting power of an internet cult fanatical faction?

It takes a sick kind of storytelling production team who can so casually use childhood rape to facilitate a fantasy gay romance.

Can't see why that's the case though - at least he's taken responsibility for his misbehaviour

Nooooo, foxes rule

Yep me too. Sheepiefarm, as ever, manages to articulate the points so well.

I think the whole rape thing has been disasterous for the show.
