He did admit to Robert that he had mad a huge impact on his business, which was why he gave him the 500k. He could just realise the benefit of having him in the deal would maybe be more profitable than Charity. She is not the most most successful entrepreneur in the dales

I think Lawrence paid Robert off so he's not secretly lusting after Robert. The HBIC might have had her set backs but she always ends up on top

Oh ok, I still question Lawrence being stuck in the deal though, it was only minutes after the contract was singed he should be able to get out of it.
What contract?
All I saw was Lawrence handing over a £500,000 check.

Oh, I must have missed that bit.
Though it helps the episode make more sense.

From what I have gathered, that was Robert buying out Charity's stake in the haulage firm.

Analysis centrals Do's and Don't about living in Emmerdale

1) Don't repeat don't allow Ashley to cook dinner if you want to have that dinner and not burn the house down, you would think the Prize Heffer known as Laurel would have realised that by know

2) Don't ever read people's diary's even if they are dead without that person's permission, it is rude.

3) Do not claim that Edna would forgive such things Prize Heffer because she wouldn't.

4) Do not Bribe people to go away it rarely works.

still at least Ronnie and Lawrence weren't lovers as I had theoried.

5) Do not ban people from trying to find their real fathers.

6) Do not tell the daughter you say isn't you daughter that your other Daughter is your daughter. Not right after telling her anyway.

7) Do not overreact and tell said father you are leaving the village forever

8) Do though if your Pete Barton leave for Aberdeen, as soon as possible.

9) Don't make your young brother choose between his 2 brothers.

10) Don't threaten Pete if your not going to do anything about it.

11) Do help Liv with her Womanly private bits Aaron, your ignorance shows just how shit you really are.

12) Do see your father get sent down because it will probably help.

13) Don't act as couriers for sex offenders pete.

14) Do not under any circumstance burn letters without giving it to the intended person even if it was from Gordon

15) Do not ask for advice from Adam Barton.

16) Don't go and talk to the dead in church people are going to thin you weird

17) Bernice Lawrence is going to do whatever he want, you are just the trophy wife.

So ... Robert has enough money now for a property in ED for him and Aaron.... I had thought he would have bought into the pub and made it Chas, Aaron and him ( Amos Brierly and Mr Wilks all over again ).

With £35,000 put into home James delivery service that leaves him with over £450,000; and the money from the divorce settlement as well, AND the next 5 years as partnership at Home Farms ( or is it Lawrence's Farm equipment firm? ). He's also part owner of the scrap business too

Can Lawrence not just cancel the check if Robert used the money to get in on home farm? That wasn't part of the deal.

The deal with charity was struck seperately after the pair had agreed their deal so yes he could have; but not morally or ethically

8) and the sooner the better. Really don't see the point of Pete.

13) And if you do decide to act as a courier - give it to the person it is for. Not some random bloke in the café. Since he has been in prison I would assume he wasn't aware that Robert and Aaron were together.

I did and actually her hair is very similar to what Esther's looks like, I think this Hannah chick wears it better though.

and here is Viola Davis in one of her infamous no makeup no wig scenes in How to Get Away with Murder https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media...5sx7rnxmx3.png
Wow, that's one VERY brave actress!!!

Oh ok, I still question Lawrence being stuck in the deal though, it was only minutes after the contract was signed he should be able to get out of it.
I'd have thought so to (or as someone else said Lawrence could have just cancelled the cheque, although Robert would presumably still have had enough to pay for Home James from his divorce settlement. And yes £35,000 doesn't seem very much for a ?half share in a business, and definitely not for a half share in a pub) but this is soap-land, so perhaps the usual cooling off periods don't apply there.
The one thing I couldn't really understand was why Jimmy and Nicola would think Robert was a worse business partner to have than Charity??? (And isn't it great that that storyline has just been left hanging?)

12) Not necessarily (I think that definitely should be a personal choice)

13) Yes, I REALLY couldn't understand why Pete did that

14) Agreed! (stupid, stupid, stupid Robert! - possibly keep it from him [although really not even that] but never not ever destroy it).

15) Even when it's good advice?? Actually the same as yours? (point 14)

Just what I imagined when I thought Robert would buy into the pub,

He could have but he seemed resigned to it and ultimately accepting of it.

Analysis of Emmerdale Characters.

1) Liv - wasn't it the episode but what she go up to off screen sounded more interesting than anything that we saw, why couldn't we have seen that instead, or have they spent so much money on hospital sets that they have run out of money for school sets.

2) Ashley had the Dementia group - Ashley seemed to learn stuff from his even more forgetful new friend and his wife. But shut up Loopy Laurel.

3) Pierce is very creepy indeed

4) David and his spaghetti meat balls. Should still be in hospital but why is he scared more of Chemotherapy than his actual operation.

emmerdale not doing much for not scaring cancer patients makes Chemo sound like something to be afraid of.

And why is davids storyline being treated like a comedy plot.

Go away new Hollyoaks producer.

5) Brenda - Eff off Brenda you insensitive hag.

6) Ashley and David learning about the hardships of life and things not being all bad from each other bleeuggrrhh so corny

7) Why are the Dingles acting like Belle using protection is a bad thing.

8) Stop snooping for Cain Holly

9) Cain bashed the wrong man over the head, what a surprise yawned kwynne

10) The least said about Emma and Pete's storyline the better.

Brendas role seems to be the one of the local village-idiot and nothing else.
I suppose, after having a cancer scare myself, I'll have to resign myself to watching David's " hilarious " comedy cancer story through. Still, he'll appear next week with a shaved head, there'll be "comedy" scenes with Leyla et al, and in 3 or 4 weeks itll all be forgotten about.
If soaps are going to cover serious health problems ( and all the soaps are all flim-flam,really, so there's no real need for them to do so ) then it should be done correctly and taken seriously.
ED seems to be misfiring a bit of late. Perhaps it's been a bit rudderless with the producer changeover recently.

I agree. The way that the whole village is tiptoeing around David and coming out with double entendres is deeply unfunny and unbelievable. Some of them are behaving like they' ve never met a person with cancer before. It' s believable that his family and if I ends are tentative but Nicola et al' s behaviour was done purely for comic effect. I think they' re trying to bring humour in because people often do use black, gallows humour to cope with poor health but it' s misfiring and coming across as silly ' Carry On' nonsense. I don' t have any objection to humour in these sorts of stories, but it shouldn' t be cartoonish and silly.

Hope you're ok by the way

1. Agreed that might have been funny to watch

2. I really think you hate Laurel as much as Aaron, you tell her to shut up all the time smh

4. Should he really? You guys keep people in the hospital a long time. If that were the US Davd would have been out of there the same day as his surgery. You have to be damn near death for an over night stay here.

5. Its time for her to die along with Doug

7. Belle did not use protection that is why she needed the plan B, she better hope she doesn't catch some STD from Dr. Bailey

8. Holly and her botoxed face need to leave die

Holly doesn't need Botox she was born that way, if Chemical companies could replicate her face they could do away with Botox heh.

That may be one of the reasons hospitals in the UK seem such dangerous places, people have to stay in them more than 5 seconds
