But the house was never put up for sale to the general public.

Jimmy was in desperate need of money - and Rakesh basically did a deal with him to buy his house.

Just finished watching the last two weeks' episodes, following my holiday. The Euro football meant it was easier than usual. The poor quality of the first few made it somewhat tougher. Why do they think we want to see a bunch of stage school brats trying to act? Coupled with the awful scenes of the women sat in the pub, then all doing variations of 'When I get my hands on that feller of mine!' was appalling, like a poor ITV sitcom.

It picked up in the second week. Hollum's downfall continues and the actress is managing OK, given her limits. Loved that Victoria was able to fight off the feckless dealer.

Tracy thinking she could just sublet half her rented room, without needing to discuss it with her landlady, was ridiculous.

I'm glad they didn't have Belle immediately start hating the Doc when the truth came out. She's such a silly girl. Also glad that her grassing up of Cain hasn't lead to a Dingle Court.

As people in soaps never seem to get a mortgage, there is no need for a survey. Also, it is up to the seller of the property to get an EPC, so Jimmy should have paid for one before he even sold the property. Although, given Rakesh (a qualified solicitor so should have known better!) just seemed to chuck him some cash, he probably didn't do that either. Also, did the property even go on the market? I seem to recall Rakesh overhearing that Jimmy was skint so offered him some dosh. The only time a property doesn't need an EPC is when it is a listed building or a cabin/lodge.

Analysis and questions about last nights Episode

Firstly the episode was not nearly as bad as some were making out.

More questions than answers here.

The Big Questions first

1) What was in the house to cause such a big explosion

2) How did Nicola survive such a big explosion with no burns at all

3) Why did Rakesh spend so much time spray painting inside if he was just going to burn everything, why not spray paint round the back the berk

4) Why did Nicola spend so much time in the house she was there for hours the silly demented coow

5) Why havent the Emmerdale Hair and Make up departments been sacked? they have gone rogue

6) Why did Ronnie run back into the fire?

7) Why did no one in the shop notice a huge explosion going on right outside? why did no one else except Dull Dan and Ronnie not notice either?

8) How come when Carly was sweeping up outside she didn't notice a large house on fire right in front of her.

9) Who builds giant pile of tins of Fish gunk and not put them in the fridge instead

10) Why is David such a moron

11) Praise where praise is due, Victoria fear and nervousness after being attacked is realistic, so why did no one go with her to the scrap yard to check the van.

12) Why did Finn not tell Victoria he was there instead of rattling the door? yes i Know soap drama reasons.. God job he was weraing glasses

13) What exactly was that big noisy argument between Jimmy and nicola all about? yes I know for soap drama reasons

14) Why did Jimmy let his kids have a food fight? surely he knows it will probably be him fixing it.

15) And does Rodney serve any purpose at all?

16) Why did no one check on the supposedly sick Rakesh in the bathroom?

1&) Why was Vanessa helping Priya do whatever she was doing?

1() WHere are Emma and James going to live now.

Al these questions and many more will probably never be answered.

I enjoyed last night's hour episode. The explosion build up was good, although the fish gunk stuff was a bit much and stopped being funny after a while.

Enjoyed the Lawrence/Bernice stuff.

I hope Ronnie survives

Victoria stuff was good, I did burst out laughing when Finn was sprayed

Nico gurning whilst searching for her sex toy was pretty funny as was her row with Jimmy.

He didn't know how much would burn. He was leaving false evidence

Analysis of Emmerdale storylines

1 The Fire and big bad dirty Rakesh - New lady cop seems nice a fairly good at her job, bit young though, I presume all the older detectives we have seen on screen are all suspended for incompetance, never going to get her man though.

2) RIP the Continuity fairy - died 29th June 2016, passed away from shock at mentions of Ruby and Viv

3) Nicola - came home to quickly form hospital and collapses which provoked Jimmy to produce some spectacularly bad dialogue that the writer should be ashamed of to their dying day/

4) Gabby and Jaycub - icky, icky storyline, appear to be about to get very close and according to IMDB the actress isn't even 15 until the end of july uck

5) Dull Dan the dull hero.

6) Why does it appear as if that North Yorks fire service has abandoned a vehicle outside mill cottage.

7) Lawrence was all emotional until he met Andy took a hard line, is it all bluff?

8) Finn red face - made him an even bigger laughing stock with his family and lost business for the taxi firm which his brothers oddly seemed to think hilarious.

Weekly Bulletin of the Malt Shovel

This week a serious case of Arson destroyed a large part of Mill cottage at the heart of the, village, the cottage has been under renovation for the last few weeks. Rakesh Kotecha the owner told us Hotton police who are investigating had told him the likely culprits were young thugs of school age. Rakesh told us this is very shocking and who could do such a thing. Injured in the fire and in serious condition are Nicola King and builder Ronnie Hale.

I another case of serious crime i the village victoria Barton was assualted and robbed of the money she was collecting from her food van in her husbands scrapyard. PC Swirling told us that police are investigating.

Hunt cottage along the Robblesfield road was severely damaged by lightning that struck the residence in recent storms, also struck by lightning were 3 Llama's belonging to Farmer Brown, they were killed instantly

The Malt beat the White Hart In 6-1 at darts this week
