Its not the abuse storyline per se that bothers me - its the fact that they used it to create a bigger monster - i.e, Aaron's own father as a paedophile, simply so they could make Robert, who had been both physically & mentally abusive to Aaron, some kind of saintly boyfriend.

Its a bit sad though, that the "fans" just absolutely can't allow that opinion to exist without challenging it at every opportunity.

That's exactly how I feel. Gordon was retconned into a paedophile just to reunite them

Why not just reunite them. It would have been frankly far less disingenuous.

Challenge So an alternative view is not welcomed here.

I think it's a bit sad when an alternative view is always belittled as coming from a fan and therefore not of the same weight as non fans.

I love Emmerdale. I do not like aspects of it including the way they used that storyline to reunite a frankly disfunctional pairing.

If you like them I respect that but please respect my opinion in turn ”

Sorry. I thought it was pretty obvious that I was joking about not watching what with the and

Robron is dysfunctional but they are entertaining

Right now Robron are in a weird place, I think TPTB made a mistake of trying to domesticate them so soon, they should have kept the drama going and kept them apart as long as possible.

There is as much dislike and negative posting about other characters such as Kerry, Debbie, Joanie - or, as appears to have been today, new character Kasim.

And yet you don't apply the same level of "defensive" or "alternate" opinions to posters who post negatively about them - why is that

Forgive me if that is what concludes me to think your defense of Robert / Robron is "fan" based - start applying the same level of defensive challenging to posters who complain about other characters, and maybe I'll change my mind about your reasons for challenging posters who complain about Robert / Robron

I think he's lovely too and a good actor - don't get why Kwynne hates him so much.

I don't have a problem with you having your point of view, but I do have difficulty with how it is expressed. If it were to be preceded by a statement such as 'In my view...', or 'I think that...', then I would have no problem. It's just that it comes across as an incontroverable truth.

I, for one, just do not agree that the abuse storyline was set up purely to bring Aaron & Robert back together. That was an important story in its own right. The fact that it lead to Aaron & Robert finding their way back together was purely incidental.

Major storylines will always have impact elsewhere. One could, just as easily, say that the purpose of the car pile up week was to bring Finn & Kasim together (and I don't think that!).

What's a poz nurse and why do you keep saying #byeFelicia? I've tried googling both terms but am none the wiser.

I like this story but can't stand Robron. This is my opinion just as your opinion is just that - opinion NOT FACT.

I so agree - the therapists I see for counselling and CBT are amazing. I can open up to them in a way I can't to other people. I know it's their job but they're still strangers.

Eh Sorry but this makes no sense at all

You said 'Its a bit sad though, that the "fans" just absolutely can't allow that opinion to exist without challenging it at every opportunity.' Which in my opinion is about belittling fans views just because they are fans and almost suggesting there is no place for me putting forward my opinions so I pointed that out.

Do you belittle fans of Kerry etc and not respect their opinion just because they are fans? Well why not to use your logic.

This has got nothing to do with some larger charge of hypocrisy in my opinion. I haven't a problem with Robron and you do. I manage to see the abuse story line in a wider light than just getting Robert and Aaron together but you don't. Finally I have no problem with you expressing your opinion but yes I will challenge it if I want to but you do seem to have a problem with me expressing mine which comes across as more than merely challenging or having an alternate view.

Analysis of Emmerdale Characters.

Favourite animal of the day sheep

Most intelligent person in the episode, the third sheep on the right

1) Kasim - besides his stupid hair i may be changing my mind about him, by the way how does someone who had a serious brain injury and probably had operations on it have such long hair surely some of it would have been shaved off because the hair is so thick it would have been blocking the x-rays

Kasim vanished in a puff of smoke when he found out about Finn he may have to be renamed Speedy Gonkasim

2) Finn - This is the reason finn isn't given good storylines, he a shite Character played by the blandest actor in existence

3) Blabbermouth Pete.

4) Emma seemed delighted to meet Kasim.

5) I thought the scenes between Belle and Jermaine to be extremely well acted whether or not the characters are liked or not.

6) laurel - might have been giving relatively but I don't think its had the effect on Gabby I think she was expecting.

7) Liv and Gabby off to get drunk so do we think this is going to go well.

8) Comedy shopping bags for paddy oh joy.

9) Snide Cain was funny while refusing Baileys handshake.

Ways how to kill the incredible annoying Pirateship

No,1 Gabby sets fire to it while drunk while Aaron is sleeping in it and the ship burns merrily

No.2) Jimmy drives his truck through it.

No.3) A helicopter crashes on to it

Hurrah the pireatship is dead.

Weekly Bulletin of the Malt Shovel.

Chaos ensued in the village on Wednesday when Farmer Giles was herding his 100 strong flock of Sheep through the village. Aaron Dingle accidentally ran over Farmer G's beloved sheepdog Buffy Summers. This caused the sheep to stamped and scatter all over the village. It took the farmer 3 hours to round up the sheep too of which were found in the village hall urinating on the Christmas decoration, another 3 ate Edna Birch's prize tomato's which her niece Harriet the Vicar is extremely cross about. The Barton brothers had to stop Farmer Giles attacking Aaron for killing his dog.

6 Llama's were used to pull a tractor out of the Emmer Beck after it swerved to avoid the sheep.

On Tuesday the local wildcat was seen in the middle of the village having eaten April pet hamster. By the time police marksmen arrived the beast was gone,

Some of the stuff happening in Emmerdale lately makes NO senese. Belle would never be allowed to go to America because of he conviction. Surely the writers should have had Jermaine get offered a job in another European City?

Kasim is just out of hospital with Brain injuries but is drinking like a fish? Would be not be on medication

Also Pete and Finn are in the pub so I presume Ross is doing the taxi shift? Can Finn not just radio Ross on the cab so he can talk to Finn?

Also YET AGAIN there is in the Woolpack (In Tuesdays ep). They seem to be able to organise parties at the drop of a hat in that pub lately. Leyla will be out of a job soon

Seriously it needs to be actually spelled out that someone's opinion is their opinion?

Oh dear.

With regard to Belle's conviction, I thought that anything committed while a person was under 18 was considered 'spent' when they reached adulthood?

Not sure murder is considered spent though only less serious crimes

Well Sorcha,

What was said was 'its the fact that they used it to create a bigger monster - i.e, Aaron's own father as a paedophile, simply so they could make Robert, who had been both physically & mentally abusive to Aaron, some kind of saintly boyfriend.'

What is expressed as a fact is hardly an opinion, is it?!

I really dont know whats happening. The production team may be younger now, or they are slowly moving ED towards a younger demographic..
there are glaring inconsistances in every instalment lately

Good job she didn't get done for murder then, which carries a mandatory life sentence.
