Weekly Bulletin of the Malt(shovel)

Fresh scandal rocked the village this week as it was announced to the bar of the Woolpack that Robert Sugden had bee cheating on his wife Chrissie with a man, Aaron Livesy no less, it was rumoured by the Late Katie Sugden before her death that Robert had been having an affair but nobody believed her and it put a strain on her new marriage, Relations between Chrissie and Robert remain poor so its likely this will not be the last this bulletin hears of this matter

On Wednesday a great deal of equipment and clothing was stolen from the Robblesfield road roadworks, these include traffic lights and barriers, they were found abandoned hours later on the connelton road. Police are baffled.

The Albatross and Pidgeon pub in Hotten cricket were thown out of the league following a match with the Malt, thye were accused of Ball tampering, The Malt was awarded full points for the game.

A Llama was killed and eaten by a pack of wolves which escaped from the Collection of Lord Harewood all the animals have been recaptured.

Next week is the marriage of Pete Barton and Debbie Dingle, this reporter and several patrons of the malt has been invited so we wish them luck

You obviously don't tune in enough if every time you do you see Ross bashing somebody on the head!

I just watched last night's episode and as soon as I saw Ross bash Robert over the head, |I thought, 'uh oh, Janet Plank is going to be shouting at the telly!!!'

I only just caught up.

I thought Natalie j Robb punching Chrissie was magnificent. [Not that I approve of violence, or nuffink]

I was quite impressed with the dexterity Harriet displayed.
Confronted on her pathway while holding several shopping bags, she managed to find that Memory Card within seconds without struggling with her bags etc.
Pretty impressive.

...and another thing,

On Tuesdays episode, did Debbie not tell Ross that she wanted to leave with the kids and leave NOW?
And then in last night's episode when he told her had enough money for them to flee with, she said she needed time and couldn't go NOW?????

Contrary or WHAT!

Not only can't she make up her mind which brother she wants to be with,she can't make up her mind whether she wants to leave or not and if she does want to leave she can't make her mind up when she wants to.

But seriously I was pissed when Ross said to Debbie "I've never wanted anything more than this" So are we no to believe he wants Debbie's selfish, emotionless ass more than Donna? That was such a disrespect to the great Ross/Donna story.

That pissed me off too and I wasn't exactly a Ross and Donna shipper.

I felt the need to bleach my eyes!

They should have got a room at the BnB or waited until someone was out of the houses they are staying in. Just gross.


My thoughts exactly, although I think we're just to assume that Ross was just saying that to try and persuade her rather than actually meaning it.

Still, once again, it does no favours for his character.
Hopefully he is not dying in the disaster so that he can be fixed because Ross is a total mess right now.

I agree 100%, this story has ruined the best character Kate Oates' created during her tenure. I have never seen a producer/writer ruin a character that they created before. If someone else came in a was destroying Ross like this I'd understand cuz it happens all the time but this is a new one to me.

Did Ross set up that whole roadblock/traffic light business last night? Did he just happen to guess that Robert would be on the road at that time and be stopped by a red light if he didn't set it up? He managed to get his hands on some workman's gear too. Super villain Ross.

Ross has really dive bombed over the last few weeks. I love all three characters in the Debbie/Ross/Pete story but it just isn't working for me, and making Ross Moses' dad was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Depending on where KO heads (if anywhere) with the Ashley/Harriet/Laurel storyline, that could potentially be a second ruined character that she created.

I don't think she'll mess up Harriet, I think so far that triangle is being played very well..unlike Ross/Debbie/Pete, Ross and Debbie have become the Frindsey of Emmerdale

What's Frindsey? I, like a lot of others on this Emmerdale thread don't watch other soaps so it's meaningless.

Oh you are lucky, that would be Freddy aka and Lindsey on Hollyoaks...one of the worst soap couples ever no chemistry, they can't act and they are propped up like they are the greatest thing ever.

yeh but all that Donna stuff was just so April could be introduced.
Ross was just excited by Donna's willingness to break the Law.
And she needed a bad boy yo get some money for April's nest egg.

I never believed they were in love for one moment.

I will give Emmerdale a miss tonight and you can all enjoy Ross bashing heads in, stealing cars and having sex, without me coming on here tomorrow and complaining..

Donna was no better than Debbie! She was a lying, cheating, selfish, criminal, murdering bitch.

Yeh he's a master criminal isn't he.


I don't think for one minute that Ross or Debbie or Pete will be killed off.
The writers need all of them to make the most of the drama.

Kate Oates likes to repeat stuff and for years Debbie has been given dialogue and scenes that are repetitive.

So if all three are alive, that's lots of air time filled with the same old

Debbie to Pete- I love you and Im not disintrested in our marriage I'm just busy.
Debbie to Pete- will you please look after the kids for a while I need to be somewhere else.
Debbie to Ross- I want to go away with you NOW.
Debbie to Ross- I don't want to go away with you now. I need time.
And these lines can be regurgitated and re played over and over - just like they always are.
We had it when Debbie was with Cameron and again before that when she fell in love with the Fridge salesman Charity was getting married to.

If Ross or Pete die [Debbie will never be killed off in a million years] that leaves less dialogue to go around and around for Debbie.



And I know they are making a big build up to this disaster and making us think there will be mass deaths, but I have my doubts.

Remember the house explosion? They gave us the number of people who would be dying, and one of them was a bit part actor who had been seen for five seconds on screen as an Estate Agent. And he was listed as one of the 'well loved' characters who were going to get blown up.
