Weekly Bulletin of the Malt SHovel

Terrible tragic events have overtaken the Village of Emmerdale this week after a helicopter crashed on the Village hall during the wedding reception of Debbie and Pete Barton. $ people are known to have died in the Crash, Ruby who works in the Cafe, The Helicopter pilot and Val Pollard who died when a piece of glass fell on her in the Hall of Mirrors. Also killed tragically from the Malt Bulletins point of View is Malt FM Reporter James Sidebottham who on occassion worked on this Bulletin as well, he was reporting from the scene of Disaster when he was caught in the Explosion of the Helicopter

RIP James Sidebottham and as a mark of respect and lack of Money Malt FM is off air until further notice. And the other who died

Before the crash there was reports of scandal as it was revealed Bride Debbie had been having an affair with Ross Barton the Grooms brother

There also reports of an explosion at the scrap yard but its not known what its relation to the helicopter if any is.

Analysis of last night big disater movie EMMERCrash

E) Don't dump your brothers lifeless body in the woods, its a soap it will soon be discovered
You've got that one wrong. It should be Make sure your brother is dead before you dump his body in the woods as Ross will surely turn up alive.

I'm sure Pete can tell the difference between a dead brother and a non dead brother, if he thinks he's dead that good enough for me or until I see different anyway.

LOL well be prepared, Kate Oates thinks she's pulling a fast one here but I've been watching soaps since I was 12 and I know a dead character when I see one and that was not Ross last week.

I'm not clutching at straws or anything, (honest ), but another thing that occurred to me was, they don't often show dead bodies on soaps. As in, actually dead, not just died. Totally dead. They might show a bit, in the background, or under a cover, but usually once they're dead, you don't see them. Whereas Ross got a full body and face shot and then rolled down the hill.

He might still be carked, but all I'll say is, if he is, that was very graphic, and a bit beyond what soaps usually do with corpses.

Pete obviously couldn't tell if Debbie had a pulse when he was having sex with her.

But yeah, that's my position. He's dead until I hear otherwise. Unsatisfactory, but meh.

And so, Marlon and Jai escape yet again. Do these two have nine lives like cats?

He was no corpse, after all my years watching the US soaps about the only death that is certain on soaps is cancer or some other deadly disease.....anything else characters can come back from.

I remember Todd on One Life to Live was in Ireland, got shot in the back several times his body was put into the trunk of a car and driven off a cliff into the ocean, then about a year later he shows back up in Llanview, Pennsylvania

That's hilarious.

How about decapitation, has anyone ever come back from that? I don't think soaps do much decapitation mind.

Personally I wish I could just see Ross stepping out of the shower and realise the whole Debbie affair had been a bad dream. Or just see Ross stepping out of the shower, that would do.

No I don't think anyone has been decapitated, although John on Days of Our Lives almost was.

So if they went the Dallas route, how far back would the dream go? It would definitely wipe out most of RobRon, Drunk Laurel and the end of Maurel

I missed some of one of the episodes because of an inconsiderate visitor. Did anyone from the village actually see Ross at the hospital? I think that initially Chas and Pete were the only two villagers there?

I was just wondering whether there is scope for Cain to believe that he is responsible for Ross' disappearance.

Oh now let's see. I would happily lose Robron, but I can't lose Drunk Laurel. She'll have to do it all again, but it was amazing, so that's fine.

I was thinking that, I'm sure he will. When Ross is reported missing, he'll go and find the van, presumably, with the doors open and the plunge below, and think maybe Ross sank to the bottom? (not very likely, but then what is?).

Ta for that. I really hope we're not going for another wrong person arrested for someone's death scenario. That has been done to death....(see what I did there?)

If Ross really is dead (and they're not trying to hoodwink us) then him dying from a bang on the head is poetic justice as he wasn't adverse to whacking people over the head himself!

I don't think anyone except Pete (and a few staff) saw Ross at the hospital so I have to say Cain might be in bother if Ross's body does turn up, it could cause him no end of trouble especially if by coincidence Pete dropped Ross's body not that far from where the van was parked on the cliff. This could somehow (I'm not a writer so I don't know how they'd piece it together) come back to bite Cain right royally on the arse and he could be done for manslaughter, reckless endangerment and whatever else they could throw at him!

It would actually make me quite angry that he'd got into all this bother just to keep dismal Debbie happy when she brought all that trouble with Ross on herself but then yelled for daddy to help when the sh!t hit the fan

But that's if Ross is really dead of course and no matter what they say I'm not convinced lol

Boom boom.

I guess Cain isn't likely to own up, so the only way he'd get in trouble would be if Debbie dobs him in. Or indeed if Dobbie debs him in. I suppose she might, but it would be a bit ungrateful as he saved her life.

Well he certainly bobbed up onto the shore. Did wonders for his hair, actually.

No I don't think she ever would. She might wonder what her Dad had done with Ross though. She's the only one who knows Cain was going off to do his usual sorting.
