I recon Cain will end up getting the blame. That van is still there isn't it?

Call me stupid, thick or whatever you want to, but I just didn't get why Val wanted to die? Why didn't she tell the fireman about the shard of mirror above her, as maybe then he could have broken it away before it fell? It just didn't make any sense at all to me!

I could understand it if Diane was in immediate danger, but she didn't seem to be? It was almost like Val wanted to be killed!

If I missed something, can someone please explain it?

and Declare his undying love for Val. If they have a funeral for Ross he will do the same except say Ross was his best friend even better than Paddy

Val (my opinion) didn't want to die. She wanted to fake her death so that she wouldn't go to prison.
The filming was so badly lit in bits though (perhaps intentionally) I couldn't see exactly what was happening. (the bit of mirror above her for one thing).

Although Val being Val she probably didn't think she would actually die. Has the body been identified yet?

Then he will go off and steal a car, bash somebody on the head, and have sex with - whoever is passing at the time.

MARLON will? That would be a new direction for him.

Ross only escaped the dive into the pond because the grease on his hair kept him afloat. His hair actually looked better when he floated to shore.

I thought the talking to Val's ghost had been done before and better in Corrie with Jack talking to dead Vera. Eric was a bit overblown TBH even if you felt a bit teary eyed, that woman in the background murdering "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" ruined it completely. Wonder if they will play that track at the funeral/cremation? Still, could have been worse we could have had Val murdering the song.

If he really did kill him and Ross doesn't do a bad penny job Pete will forever be my hero. Move over a bit, ♥ Marlon. Just a bit.

The only thing I thought of was that they were lying side by side. Diane's head was at Val's feet. So perhaps the shard of glass would have fallen on both of them. Val could see it but Diane didn't. It was difficult to see exactly where it was.

However, paramedics and fire fighters are trained to assess a situation and deal with people as they see best. So I am surprised they didn't see the glass. But that said , we knew Val was leaving so I am not going to criticise too much.

Yes - Ross stepping out of the shower with his lovely wet curly hair.

And if they have killed him off - how could they do that to April. How could they do that to us? She will be upset and that will set Marlon off again.

I refuse to believe it. Just keep thinking of Ross in the shower. Ahh.

I finally got chance to see the Wed, Thurs and Friday Eps!!!!

I loved Kerry and Dan refusing to leave Ruby alone.
And Finn when he knew Val had died.

But it was Liz Estensen who made me fill up with tears. When she realised Val was dead.

It was her, Charlie Hardwick and Chris Chittell who made the disaster shows for me.

And when Moira thought Cain was dead, I also got a pang of tears.

I laughed at how clean Debbie's frock was when she was carried out, and that she had on both her shoes [also clean.]

And I also laughed - thinking again of Janet Plank when Ross got bashed on the head!!!
I don't believe for one moment that Ross is dead.
Pete didn't bury him under soil. He covered him with twigs and leaves.
Of course he's going to wake up.

And as usual, us lot guessed correctly that the dead would be Val, Ruby and the Helicopter Pilot.

I had to put the sub titles on to hear what Pete was shouting.

Diane's head was bleeding and I think Val thought it was a serious injury, so she wanted Diane to be attended to first because she had seen the shard of glass hanging over her and she had begun to realise what was about to happen to her.
So by the selfless act of letting Diane go first Val finally showed her love for her sister.

And as a final note................. they had a chance to kill off that 'orrible Oik, Adam and they let the blighter live.

I am not a very happy Chita.

Not happy AT ALL.

Val got some great lines.

I loved it when ghostly Val told Eric he won't be alone not like when she found him.

And I loved it when Diane called Val an old drama queen and Val only objected to the word old.

I thought Liz Estensen was sublime.

And I did laugh at the drunken Doug, Rodney and Eric.
I particularly loved how Patrick Mower staggered out of that Taxi and stood drunkenly up.

I think I might watch all the Eps again.

chita, I knew you would be gutted that Much Maligned Hot Adam survived. You must really hate Robert, now.

And I know I already mentioned it, but I did love Kerry and Dan with Ruby.

We were really given the chance to see that Kerry is all mouth, and underneath there is a soft heart as big as a whale.

I kind of don't hate Robert, because when I saw the spoiler pictures of Adam in the car a few weeks ago, I just KNEW he would live. So I just sort of shrugged when Robert dragged him out.
I knew it would be inevitable.

I may use it to hold against Robert in future though if necessary.

I was reminded of how crap an actor that Adam bloke is though - when Mike Parr was kicking and thumping that van, I really believed he was a desperate man trying to escape, and he made the kicking look real.
In fact Im sure he must have hurt his hand when he punched the roof of the van.

I enjoyed that scene, and then my mind wandered off to when Aaron was trying to gas himself in the garage, and when Adam tried to kick down the doors to get him.....and to me, Adam made it look like he didn't want to kick and thump too hard in case he scuffed his boots.
I saw in my mind a stark contrast between a guy who can act and a guy who can't.

Grrrrr why didnt they take the chance to get rid of him......WHY???????????

I did like Debbies' frock. Made her boobage look wonderful.
And the whole draping of the dress was very elegant.
And when she was found under t'rubble, I thought she looked like an ancient Tomb of a Medieval queen - Or like an Arthurian Lady.

They made her look like Guinivere or something.

I didn't like Chas's troosers. WTF??????

Oh and I forgot, when Marlon went to the children and he hugged them all close - I know April is his responsibility and it was natural that he went to her, but I thought it was so sad when we saw little Sarah in tears asking about her Mum.
I prefer spaniel puppies to children, but my heart did pang a bit for Sarah then.

And Mark Charnock, did it to me AGAIN! When Butch died and Mark spoke his lines at his bedside with a clever mixture of laughter and tears he broke my heart, and overacting arm waving bugger that he too often is, he got me again when he was crying as he hugged the kids close..

Great posts Chita, sums up how I feel too.

Kerry really impressed me with her level headedness and bravery because it was brave to stay with Ruby when that helicopter could have fallen on them any second, what a trooper that woman. She also had the added burden of keeping Dan calm because (naturally) he was falling apart a bit but he was brave too and stayed with Ruby to the end which considering she started out in his life as his love rival was a good, peaceful, loving ending for them.

You're spot on about the difference between the actors who play Ross and Adam. I believed in Ross and Michael Parr was spot on, puling out all the stops but not descending into overacting. If he really has gone he will be a loss to the show but if he has I hope it was Michael's decision to go because he wants to spread his wings. He really is a good actor and could go far.

But how the hell did Adam survive? When that gas canister shot into the sky we saw the flames shoot out horizontally on both sides, that car would have been engulfed and no one would have been able to get to it! Just have to go with the flow I suppose but put it this way, he's one of the few where I wasn't on the edge of my seat hoping he'd live, lol!

Cain was all manly and heroic *swoons* Aaron wasn't a slacker either when it came to risking his life to save others.

Pete is getting darker and darker and I can't believe he killed (or did he ...) his brother for that cheating harpy. Sorry, I know Debbie has her fans on here () but it just won't compute with me why these men fall so hopelessly and desperately in love with her to such an extent that one brother will kill the other because they're love rivals Pete's logic baffles me - cheating cow of a finance (now wife) - forgiven. Brother - kills and dumps body (really was self-preservation all the way with him). It's not like Ross raped Debbie where you could empathise if not approve of such a reaction, Debbie was more than a willing participant! I hope he can live with what he's done because I don't know how he could take that hug off his dad knowing what he's done, that his brother is dead (or is he ...) and he's keeping that knowledge from his family and the chance for them to grieve and have a proper funeral. Pete certainly has turned dark and in soap terms has just turned very interesting, I thought the actor was quite convincing too and has risen to the challenge.

Personally I loved Val's 'ghost' (I like to think of her as a ghost rather than an hallucination). It's not like ED hasn't done this before, Marlon talked to Tricia when she died. But the calmer, more serene Val who came back was great (not the OTT harpy she'd turned into). Giggled at her advice for Eric: "stay away from funfairs" and "if you get back with that Brenda I'll haunt the bajesus out of the pair of you" Ghost or hallucination? Does it matter, it was a great scene and a fitting send off not only for the character but the coupling of Val and Eric.

Speaking of Ruby, did anyone bring her body out of the hall before it exploded? If not she'll be in a worse state than Val!

i think we are left to believe that the Emergency service people brought out Ruby.

I'm not looking forward to watching Kelli Hollis acting out her grief scenes.

All that screwed up face and neck acting she does when she shouts is going to employed for this isn't it?

Oh dear.

I will be very surprised if Mike Parr has left.
If he has and it was his choice, then good luck to him,
but if Emmerdale let him go........they must be crazy.
I think he's their best signing [acting talent wise] since Jeff Hordley.
I think they can do a lot with him to entertain us.
