You're spot on about the difference between the actors who play Ross and Adam. I believed in Ross and Michael Parr was spot on, puling out all the stops but not descending into overacting. If he really has gone he will be a loss to the show but if he has I hope it was Michael's decision to go because he wants to spread his wings. He really is a good actor and could go far.

But how the hell did Adam survive? When that gas canister shot into the sky we saw the flames shoot out horizontally on both sides, that car would have been engulfed and no one would have been able to get to it! Just have to go with the flow I suppose but put it this way, he's one of the few where I wasn't on the edge of my seat hoping he'd live, lol!

Cain was all manly and heroic *swoons* Aaron wasn't a slacker either when it came to risking his life to save others.

Pete is getting darker and darker and I can't believe he killed (or did he ...) his brother for that cheating harpy. Sorry, I know Debbie has her fans on here () but it just won't compute with me why these men fall so hopelessly and desperately in love with her to such an extent that one brother will kill the other because they're love rivals Pete's logic baffles me - cheating cow of a finance (now wife) - forgiven. Brother - kills and dumps body (really was self-preservation all the way with him). It's not like Ross raped Debbie where you could empathise if not approve of such a reaction, Debbie was more than a willing participant! I hope he can live with what he's done because I don't know how he could take that hug off his dad knowing what he's done, that his brother is dead (or is he ...) and he's keeping that knowledge from his family and the chance for them to grieve and have a proper funeral. Pete certainly has turned dark and in soap terms has just turned very interesting, I thought the actor was quite convincing too and has risen to the challenge.

Personally I loved Val's 'ghost' (I like to think of her as a ghost rather than an hallucination). It's not like ED hasn't done this before, Marlon talked to Tricia when she died. But the calmer, more serene Val who came back was great (not the OTT harpy she'd turned into). Giggled at her advice for Eric: "stay away from funfairs" and "if you get back with that Brenda I'll haunt the bajesus out of the pair of you" Ghost or hallucination? Does it matter, it was a great scene and a fitting send off not only for the character but the coupling of Val and Eric.”

Agree with all - especially the bits I've bolded.

So - because Robert & Aaron had an affair

Katie Sugden
Val Pollard
Ruby Haswell

all ended up dead.

Chas had a hit put out on her
Paddy nearly got suffocated and also got shot in the arm

Arron got kidnapped / tied to a radiator / and had a gun pointed to his head.

And this is supposed to be some "epic" love story

Debbie must use Impulse Showing my age there

Ok, I know Marlon was traumatised so I should feel sympathy but the snivelling little git was completely wrapped up in himself and April, and never showed the least bit concern for anyone else. Dan was also traumatised but he showed a great deal of courage.

Marlon is a pathetic little weasel. Didn't give a damn about anyone else. Ran straight home to his kids without any thought of saving his trapped relatives.

Very clever, sheepieform; and Diane was injured and traumatised, and lost her only sister; and a helicopter pilot died. I am hoping that the thieving, violent, immoral thug, Ross, is very dead also. .

Good grief. that's some body count! I always think Aaron looks like he's been told to 'smoulder' for the camera. It cones across as being more about titillation than a genuine believable affair, and the whole thing of Aaron needing to suffer and punish himself, and Robert so determined to string him along makes it even harder to care. It's not a relationship so much as its an opportunity for Aaron to punish himself. I don't see what's romantic or sexy about any of it.

Yes, Robert has a lot to answer for.

But his greatest crime so far is rescuing Adam.

I hope so too. I think Halloween would be an ideal time for him to come back!

BIB: I use Impulse now! It's great for work, lovely and light - my favourite is called "Very Pink". And I'm old enough to remember the ads too!

Well it'll be boring without him but when he returns the impact will be much bigger. By then i think everyone in the show will assume he is dead.

Meh!

The DS Cain Dingle P***y Posse must still be spent after watching that.

(If only the likes of JR_THE LEGEND still posted in the Emmerdale forums. I think he would have had plenty to say about it.)

Great post.

I thought the scene with Adam and Vanessa in the middle of everything else that was going on, made no sense really.

I enjoyed the whole week, a lot of edge of seat moments. Personally, once Cain lives, I'm willing to sacrifice most of the other characters .

This enraged me too! I know your first instinct would be to check on your children but it just had to be him didn't it? And not only that, he dashed straight out of the village as soon as the helicopter crashed. He didn't think to hang around to see if everyone else has okay. Such a prick.

I also have to say that I'm well and truly over April. I love her scenes with Ross, but everything else just feels way too forced. A child character start to lose their charm if you over-egg it too much.

I watched the repeat on Saturday and the little worm pulled his sorry backside out of the rubble and left without a backward glance. Nice. Yet Marlon's meant to be a sympathetic character. Yes, he was in shock and unable to help because of that - that's fair enough but he didn't even show any concern for anyone else's safety. Compare him to Chrissie and Dan who were also in shock but still managed to be concerned about others.

Marlon has always been a tosser and he showed his true colours when the helicopter hit. April is fast getting on my nerves, I find a little of her (ditto Marlon) goes a very long way with me of late.
