But its so much more fun to get on Debbie about not taking care of her kids than the others

How much money does Ross want from Laurence and what does he want it for?

I'm assuming it will be more than a fiver.

That's funny, I was just coming on to ask the same thing! Does anyone actually know what Ross wants the money for? He implied it was for criminal purposes, but I wondered if it will turn out to be just to bring up Moses with. Or, horror of horrors, he hasn't given up on Debbie and the 2 will run off together with it. In which case, I hope they don't come back.

bib: I do hope not.

But I have a feeling that could happen.

(The is for Debbie still dragging Ross down, plot-wise..I wish she would clear off, alone)

Don't laugh at me, but at first I thought Ross was going to ask Laurence to buy him a home - so he could live in it rent free.
I sort of thought he has come back wanting to try and take care of Moses and try to be a good person from now on.

I know, I know. I must be ill.

I thought Ross wanted the money to hire a hit man to kill Pete. Then I thought better - with his beating up, bashing over the head for money etc skills he's more than capable of doing it himself!

Kids are only in scenes when they absolutely have to be. Take the recent scenes with Debbie and Pete - can you image the stress them crying, shouting and screaming at each other would cause the little lad who plays Jack?

Watching characters getting their kids up, giving them breakfast, getting them dressed, taking them to school/playgroup/childminders, picking them up, giving them their tea, baths, bedtime stories ect is boring and they aren't going to put that on screen. Doesn't mean we aren't suppose to believe it happens.”

Awww look at widdle star desperately trying to defend Debbie <pats star patronisingly on head>.

No I do actually agree with you. We see the twins so rarely I'm starting to think they're actually just a figment of Bob and Brenda's imaginations. I do find it laughable that Debbie, with a business, a newborn, a toddler and another child has the time to sit lounging around in the pub (and god knows how she found the time to shag Ross in between all that - although admittedly if I was her, I would find the time ).

It's not just Debbie though, Priya and David are always in the pub as are Ashley and Laurel. It is silly but like you say, unless it's relevant to the storyline, no-one wants to see characters carting their kids around everywhere, especially when they have more important things to do - like shagging their fiance's brother.

UGH. How depressing we both had the same thought. I'm not convinced the Debbie/Ross drearfest is over, but I'm crossing my fingers and everything else.

You're not ill. They definitely implied he wanted to look after Moses and be a Hot Dad. The idea of Lawrence buying him a little cottage to live in is brilliant.

Oo. Dark. Possible, but more Robert's style, I would have thought.

Yes please! I'd actually forgotten Chrissie never told Larry about Robert doing the heist. That would be great. More White/Sugden Carnage.

Who is Connor?
What incident?

It's in next week's spoilers.

Spoiler
Some guy called Connor turns up as a handy man, and then tells Lawrence he's been beaten up for being gay. Lawrence helps him and gives him cash, but then the guy makes a false accusation that Lawrence attacked him. Looks like Robert might have set up the whole thing.

Thank you Andybear. I feel that Ruby's legacy has been to create a bond between us!

No. Ali was never of the same temperament or calibre as Ruby. Ruby could have been a good carer and still have plenty of friends in the village following her time in the cafe.

I have not watched ED since August 14th when Dan mourned a successor to Ruby being recruited at the cafe. I doubt I shall watch it again until September 10th when

Priya employs a childminder. Jai talked about sending Archie there.
Arthur and the twins go to school.

Am I the only one that really doesn't want scenes if kids with their parents/grandparents? I don't mean family scenes like everyone having a meal, or taking the kuds to the shop or park, they can be fun, as long as the focus is on the adults not the kids. It's the cutesy one to one scenes of the type we get with April that I can't stand.

Debbie employs a childminder - it was said during the visit from a social worker back when Cameron was on the show.

Sarah goes to school.

No you're not alone and there are too many kids in Emmerdale anyway. Thankfully there are laws restricting screen time.
KO making nearly every female under 65 pregnant doesn't help either.
Samson and Arthur are OK. The rest are brats.

I really don't care if it's unrealistic that the adults spend so much time in the pub and aren't bonding with the kids at every opportunity. We do get plenty of scenes that the kids are involved in, I don't need to see them getting read bedtime stories

See, this why I never had kids

No you're not the only one. I'm very much 'kids should be seen and not heard' when it comes to soaps. I agree with you about April. I liked her to start with but now I find her very annoying, probably because she's shoved down our throats so much. Thank goodness I never had kids!

There are far too many kids in the show.
Thankfully we don't see that much of any of them.

And yes, Debbie does get more criticism over not being with her kids than other characters, but I think it is because all the scriptwriters seem to give her repetitive lines to say.

She seems to go round and round in circles saying the same things all the time and one of those repetitive things is 'will so and so have the kids?' or 'Andy's got the kids.'

The reason for debbie's criticism over the kids is due to the fact so many things were " I an doing this for Sarah or I am doing this for the kids" You make the kids your focus, you will get criticised for seeming neglect

Personally I have no opinion on Debbie's mothering skills, there are plenty more reasons to dislike that character

I think the criticism of Debbie and the kids is funny... And I for over like her character.
