I find it very odd that she has completely disappeared and I actually forgot about her until Cheryl's tweet

What do you think has happened?? I have a feeling they've scrapped the whole album and started from scratch. I think the initial plan was to make a hard edgy rnb sounding album hence BBHMM and American Oxygen but they both didn't do that well so I think they've scrapped the album and has changed her sound. I wouldn't be surprised if they are just forgotten about and the next single is back to pop/dance like Only Girl in the World and her new album is of the same sound of Loud

Hope we get a tour though as I really wanna see her live again!! Maybe album late 2015 and tour early 2016??

I think her label are pissed about the poor performances of the singles and have likely gone back to the drawing bored. They likely want another factory standard hit machine album like Loud. I persoanlly like the less commericial less predictable sound she was going.

If it's anything like the single hopefully we'll never see it... EVER. What a load of pretentious drivel.

I don’t think the performance of the three singles are all there is too it BBHMM is doing well stateside and AO felt purely like a promo single the only single proper thus far was FFS that did very well. In short one proper single and no promotion did not really aid nor help her cause.

I think it’s more public reaction being negative toward the direction, image, and lack of promotion that has done it. She’s probably gone back to the drawing board to chuck on more commercial singles to appeal to the masses.
I for one would be disappointed as it sounded like her most artistic and interesting record yet. That aside it will be interesting to see what has changed when she comes back and if it can rverse the campaign.

I'm expecting the album to arrive in November now. She'll come back with another lead single and start the campaign again. I don't think they'll have scrapped the whole album but I imagine they are looking for a hit single.

I thought she'd got Sia to do her latest album for her instead?

Preferably stay away. She's acting like a right prostitute now how she dresses and her music is absolutely rubbish.

The same as Beyonce forever delayed self titled last album.

One day we'll wake up and find it is available to buy in a few limited exclusive places to begin with, with a whole bunch of fairly low budget videos, and like with Beyonce, everyone will pretend the best part of a year delay never happened.

She's in no rush to release a new album, its not a big deal, some artists take years to come up with one.

Yes but not Rihanna. I think it's pretty obvious that there has been an unforeseen delay. She was hyping it up to the max with the 3 singles and tons of magazine interviews and now she's gone totally silent.

I suppose without BBHMM and Four five seconds being there, American Oxygene would have been top 5.
Something more experimental would be good for her, the instant hits are also the most forgettable ones, as good as they were (Disturbia, S&M)

At the start of the year there was a lot of Rihanna hype around the fact that there was going to be two Rihanna albums.

The Home OST which came and went pretty much at the blink of an eye. Towards The Sun didn't exactly light up the charts. It's not an accessible radio friendly commercial song so instantly alienated most of Rihanna's younger fan base.

Then there was FourFiveSeconds which became a slow burning hit - it held up in the top 10 much longr than I expected. Then again, even I eventually found myself liking the song about a month after it was released.

However, BBHMM and American Oxygen just didn't do anything. The latter should've been released first, and as for BBHMM that song shouldn't have happened at all. I'm sure there is a minority group who love the song, but the fact is BBHMM is seriously crap. By far one of Rihanna's worst ever singles in 10 years. If this was supposed to be a taster of things to come, then it's probably a good thing that the Rihanna hype has fizzled out.

Come back when you've got another Only Girl (In The World), We Found Love, Don't Stop The Music or Diamonds. Then the majority group will start buying Rihanna's music again.

'Towards the Sun' was effectively scrapped as a single. Rihanna's team told radio to focus on her R8 singles instead. 'American Oxygen' is 2 minutes too long given the repetitive nature of the song and 'BBHMM' is my favourite of the 3 singles but was never likely to make an impact on the charts.

There must have been an issue behind the scenes - maybe to do with Tidal?? BBHMM is still top 30 in the States so it's probably worth it not to give up on it yet and push for a second long-runner in the charts, given that a video could push it back up.

I imagine there might've been a video recorded a while back that was delayed or had some problems being finalized or something.

Towards the sun is the best song she's had in years and it is very much a radio friendly song, clearly you don't know what your talking about

The problem is that the singles she has released recently have all been God awful.
If she can go back to doing good music like on Rated R, Good Girl Gone Bad etc, she could be huge again.

I think Tidal may have had something to do with it. It's interesting that she's debuting this video on Vevo, whereas most other 'Tidal artists' have put stuff out on Tidal first (eg. Nicki Minaj & Beyonce - Feeling Myself, Madonna & Nicki Minaj - Bitch I'm Madonna - even Rihanna debuted American Oxygen on there).

I reckon the original plan was to do something revolutionary and debut the entire of R8 on Tidal before going to general release - similar to how Beyonce putting her album on iTunes with no promo was something that had never been seen before. Streaming is fast becoming the dominant way of getting and listening to music, so it would make sense to capitalise on that and do something so current.

However, I think Rihanna's team have probably realised Tidal just isn't going to happen. NOBODY CARES ABOUT IT. And even if it was released to streaming, it'd just get pirated within minutes of it going online, and sales would no doubt be affected. It's a risk I think they're no longer willing to take.

The BBHMM video coming out is a sign that the campaign is back on track, for now at least. And it's encouraging to see it's going out on Vevo rather than trying something new that would inevitably work against her rather than going in her favour.

She needs to move on from this but maybe coz it's been left a long time may work in her favour but it may back fire she would have been better releasing g a new song instead of focusing on this junk

I disagree. The last thing she needs is a 4th single especially if the album is still months away. She may as well push this. I still think there's some life left in BBHMM if the video is good.

I think the fact she stated that she wants to release more mature songs that she can still sing on stage in 20-30 years time, then releases a song called "bitch better have my money"??? Bit of a laughing stock if anything.

For what it's worth, I LOVE American Oxygen. The baseline is incredible. And I loved the stripped back FourFiveSeconds. But the three songs sound like they come from three different albums.

Oh well, never mind. LOL

So that's Pretty Girls, Bad Blood and now Bitch Better Have My Money. All three have decent interesting music videos but the songs are crap. Well, the video to BBHMM looks good from the teaser but still.

Why? The days of Telephone (great music video AND song) are long gone it seems.
