C5 have little respect for their audience!
Citizen Kane

There is no doubt the overriding concept of BB has changed from the original "social experiment". The C5 concept is an interesting development. I'm not sure where they are obtaining their audience feedback, if at all, but it is clear they believe:-

The audience is incapable of following the long story/journey of original hms,
The hms should have a proven record of entertainment or reality experience,
Hms occupations have to be very ‘left field‘,
The overriding purpose of tasks are to create conflict and arguments,,
Nightly highlights focus on performances,
The audience requires regular "twists" and excuses to bring in old "stars",
We will accept blatant manipulation of nominations, without question,
We need to be constantly entertained with unrelated intervention from outside.

All these beliefs are well demonstrated throughout this series - the BB producers have little respect for their audience and an offensive view of our intelligence!

The audience that are still watching have gone along with the changes.. They've adapted to the new style show .. some changes I'm happy with ..like the blatant manipulation of nominations.. without it.. the same people are up for eviction every week till they go.. and long gone are the days when housemates had ordinary everyday jobs.. I recall Marcus BB10? on live feed once chatting about his job as a window fitter. . I found it interesting I doubt many of today's viewers would. .

What's wrong with the same people every week being up though, that's reality isn't it?

Harriett worked in a cafe.
Chloe loves telling us all how 'normal' she is with a normal job.
Jack works in mcdonalds.

are these not 'ordinary everyday jobs' ?

if anything Channel 4 had far more extrovert characters with odd jobs or work in the media.
i find channel 5s housemates abit bland to be honest.

But 4 of the "normal" hms were culled in one fell swoop, to make way for the entertainers. BB didn't give them a chance to develop.

Yes, I agree with you. I am still hanging on in there in the faint hope that there is something I can find NOT to gripe about. I am turning into a right old moaning minnie, will be glad to get back to normal again.....
