So why were the two bullies the forums faves?

I thought we didn't condone this sort of behaviour?

Yes; BB now condones it, depending on who is doing it. Helen and Mark can do whatever they like - and thank God she is gone, hopefully never to be on BB again. However if BB has not chosen a HM to win, they cannot get away with anything. It isn't BB any more, and the viewers don't matter except when it comes to paying to vote.

I don't.

Some people have convinced themselves that it's not bullying, because no lunch money was stolen.

Agreed.

And BB has positively encouraged conflict throughout this show.

They very much are. A bully won last year for being a bully, a bully will win this year for being a bully and this forum is loving backing the bully.

Agreed. What's more unsettling is that there are people who support Helen and Marc.
Receiving preferential treatment from BB is bad enough, but to actually receive support from viewers is even worse.

Exactly.

'Bully' has become a synonym for 'person I don't like' on this forum.

It's disrespectful of people who have actually experienced bullying and diminishes their experiences. But it's a cheap way to try to score points on an internet forum so there you go.

Marc uses his physical strength and goading tactics, like accusing people of lying, and so-called banter (actually abusive language), to intimidate, belittle and control the HMs.

I'm sorry you can't see that it is bullying.

It is complete drivel to suggest Helen was last year's forum favourite. She consistently polled the most disliked. Ashleigh, Chris and Christopher were the favourites.

Ah, the usual tactic of claiming that calling bullying 'bullying', is actually belittling victims of bullying.

I see it more of a wind up, or some would say verbal bullying, A lot different to the bullies that were in my school, was a long time ago 1950-60 more physical then

Just because something has to be repeatedly pointed out doesn't mean it's not true.

I'm sure the verbal bullying was going on too.
The physical bullying would see you removed from BB, but they seem fine with the goading/provoking type.

Doesn't make it true, either.
It's a nasty tactic, used against people who actually feel empathy for the victims of bullying and can therefore recognise it, when it happens.

They are not bullys Marc or Helen. Yes they torment, yes they are tactless and yes underhand comments. They were two people in a house of how many? People need to grow thicker skins.
My goodness what if we were watching a houseful of Sam's, Nick's or Jack's?

Marc and Helen are the sort of housemates they want, loud, foul mouthed and obnoxious, they want the sort of headlines that fight night, or the Shilpa row caused.

It is almost like a human form of dog fighting.

It's the tactic of claiming bullying when there hasn't been any that's twisted and manipulative. That's a despicable stunt to try to pull, and you're doing it right there in that post.

But trying to score points on a forum over some crappy reality tv show matters more so **** the people that have actually experienced it and suffered from it.

Exactly, they're not bullies at all, just direct and straight which people can't handle. I haven't seen either Marc or Helen throw things at anyone, in an aggressive manner or otherwise.

This 'bully' word is thrown about far too much - it's a group of adults, not a bunch of kids in primary school!
