We are half way through 2015 and I thought it would be interesting to gauge who the current forum favourites are. Voting will take place via poll which will be MULTIPLE CHOICE and I will do a special run-down of the results in a couple of weeks.

Comments are appreciated and will be used in the results round-up. Tell us why you love your faves!

I will start off:

Stacey: I think Lacey is a great actress and the character of Stacey works with any character. I hope the key opens up a big can of worms for her. She is a 21st century icon and about to have a Fowler baby.

Carol: Lindsey is probably the best actress on the show, effortlessly so. It's a real shame that she's leaving albeit inevitable. I will really miss Lindsey and I hope she lands some big roles outside the show. Carol may be a misery guts but she's a very real and realistic character that viewers can relate to.

Sharon: The Mitchell matriarch role has done wonders for her. She works best when she has a family to interact with and she has had some fab moments this year.

Buster: This character has really developed in one of the best males on the show. Credit must go to Karl Howman who fits the show perfectly. I think his character will grow more and more. This is what Vinnie could have been.

Linda: Her characterisation is on point and much like Carol, I think people can relate to a lot of her characteristics and Kellie Bright has been a breath of fresh air in the pub. She has been rightly awarded for her work thus far but it's been good to see the character get a well earned break.

Abi: I find her amusing and pathetic yet loveable. Lorna really proved her worth during Live week. We've grown up with this character and I have loved the glimpses of her darker side. She battered Lucy, watch out Ben!

Kush: A really solid everyday character. I hope they further develop the Kazemis. Bonnie is great as Carmel and I love their interactions with the Masoods.

Masood: He's such a solid character that I feel is under appreciated. Nitin is great and the Masoods have been rejuvenated under DTC with the Shabnam recast and the Roya/Jade story.

Shabnam: Rakhee IS Shabnam. She had a quiet 2014 and has burst to life this year. I'm loving her work and I was never a fan of the original Shabnam who was forgettable, she left before the family really took off. I'd love Zainab to return at some point to see Rakhee go head-to-head with Nina.

Cindy: Mimi was great during the Live episode and I thought her portrayal of a young mother struggling to bring up her baby was well done. It must have been very hard for the actress. I also love the character's sarcastic wit.

Cora: Her scenes with Stan were a post Live highlight. Ann is an asset to the show and I love the Babe v Cora arc. Her elderly homeless story has the potential to be really good.

Babe: She has developed into a great villian. Annette is great in the role and I hope Queenie returns for the reveal of her secret. What dead animal will turn up on her head next?

Kathy: I know we have only had a couple of snippets but I can't wait for her full-time return.

Carmel: Bonnie has been a revelation. Very Peggy-esque but I hope they give her a full-time role. I think she'd be great as head of a family unit: her boys (Kush and ?).

The women rule Walford IMO.

Great thread but I hope the mods doesn't move it to the games thread

My favourites are Sharon, Shirley, Carmel, Carol, Kathy, Dot and Patrick

Oh damn it I forgot to vote Carmel and Shirley in this poll as I was voting too quickly.

Thanks for the thread
I voted for

Ian Beale - Adam deserves it, fine actor, stalwart of the show even if the character is often detestable and vile

Dot Branning - June is a legend as is Dot enough said!!

Kathy Beale - She's been raped twice, had Lou Beale as a mother-in-law, Cindy Williams as daughter-in-law Ian and Ben as sons, oh and is about to come back from the dead, obviously she's a favourite duh

Patrick Trueman - Man after my own heart loves a wee rum here and there, and is just sublime in the role, the stroke stuff was sensational. I know my mum took one just before him.

Stacey Branning - A fine actress Lacey was worth bringing back and I'm sure DTC will do her justice in the end.

Ronnie Mitchell - You have to love Ronnie the writers continually heap misery on her and she just toughens up again, loving darth Ronnie

Ben Mitchell - A misunderstood, and disadvantaged character, after all his father is Phil Mitchell

Tamwar Masood - Fantastic character,, moral custodian of the square and hilarious with it. Probably my favourite of them all.

Carmel Kazemi - put Bushra in her place. Nothing else needs said about her.

Vincent Hubbard - I love his dark menace. I nearly buckled when he decked Phil.

Linda Carter - A breath of fresh air. Kellie has been sublime.

Nancy Carter - Another straight-talker with razor-sharp wit

Buster Briggs - Starting to come into his own, a wise casting decision. Karl Howman is a very capable actor and that is shining through in his performances now.

Donna Yates - I find her interesting, sharp, witty, intelligent and I think her character will be phenomenol, such a precocious talent.

Cora Cross - It's Ann Mitchell another true legend. Cora is dry, caustic, her own worst enemy but very watchable. She truly rules the screen whenever on it and should be used more she is extraordinary.

Oh just realized its multi!
I'd say Shazza, Cora, Denise, Patrick, Shabnam, Kush before the affair, Ron although her current story is pants.

There's no one I actively dislike, maybe Kim , just think some characters are overused or trapped in crap stories.

Few of my choices:

- Shabnam. Great character, layered and interesting.

- Cindy. I like her sarcasm, think she plays an interesting character, and Mimi has delivered some performances over the last 12 months (birth episodes, live week). She's gone toe-to-toe with Adam Woodyatt and McBeale and has definitely earned her place in the show. It certainly doesn't hurt that she is quite easy on the eyeballs :P

- Buster. He's certainly got that Dean ones card marked. I want him to become a more integral part of the square with friends and enemies, rather than a cog in the endless Carter saga. There are inklings of this with Carol and Vincent, which are two good places to start.

- Vincent. Great addition, though I don't know what business he thinks he has making me not loathe Kim any more

Always love Shirley but voted for Dean. Really interested to see where his character is going. I like how tptb haven't taken the classic villain route with him, they've developed him greatly. Also really liking Buster, he seems to have the most common sense out of everyone on the square!

I only got to watching Friday's episode today and it made me realize how much I love Patrick as a character. Criminally underrated.

I didn't skip Dean as I do think he's complex and fascinating to watch despite everything.

I'm surprised that Bobby had fewer votes even than Dean - I've been very intrigued by him ever since he killed Lucy.

Sadly I forgot to vote for Ronnie but I picked Buster as he has really grown on me over the last few weeks. Roxy, Stacey, Kush and Liam are a few of my other current favourites.

Patrick - brilliant character who has been amazingly acted. Really hope that we can rebuild the older group around him again.

Tamwar - a good guy and I love his dry wit and the fact that he is awkward and different. I really hope he and Nancy make it, he deserves some happiness.

Masood - for all his many, many faults, I think deep down he's a good guy and I really like him. They just need to bring Zainab back.

Linda - best new addition. A lovely person who is often too good for her family but puts up with them regardless and who feels real. She's funny, kind and fits in the pub like she's always been there...i just wish they'd change her wardrobe!

Martin - I really like nuMartin although if like to see less of him chasing Stacey & more of him with Bex - I really enjoy seeing their father/daughter relationship. It feels authentic, certainly more authentic than Sonia & Bex's mother/daughter one.

Stacey - she's better than affair storylines, but I at least find this one believable.

Honorary mentions to Sharon (who finally seems to be more than a doormat), Kush (I didn't vote for him because of his spineless blaming of Stacey to Nancy, but I do still like him), Donna (who is improving with every ep), Jay for having a backbone when it comes to Phil, and Buster (who I hated at first but really like now).

There are very few characters I actively dislike though, and of those there are only a few I would like to see axed. I like the cast just now for the most part.

Funny how many anti-Sharon threads there are but she still comes out (so far) with the most points!

Ouch poor Sonia Fowler currently only on 3 votes, the only people below her are child characters.

How many can spew vote for?
I also have a dilemma. The actress who plays Stacey is excellent but I hate the Kush storyline with her, the same applies with Charlie and Roxy
