Lets have some fun with maths.

1 x Marc +

3 x Ex-Housemates with bags of outside information +

3 x days of live feed of the house +

2 x weeks of immunity +

4 x members of clique identified, to be disseminated.

=

2 x Marc's friends evicted -

4 x members of clique still there (1 nominated for eviction) -

1 Marc x nomination for eviction +

2 x Marc's allies nominated for eviction +

1 x irate Marc in DR raging about injustice.

Net Result = 1 x total plonker seething in the negative yield of all his efforts and proclamations of genius.

Shame, aww.

How has Harry 'been put up' for eviction? She received 4 nominations. She's up because of that, not because the producers engineered it.

I was a bit surprised to see Jack up though with only 2 noms but again, the more up, the more money in votes. That's the only manipulation I see here.

Hope Marc and Harry stay, they're the only two HMs I like.

Some possibilities:

* He was sure he was right.
* He thought that there was a good enough chance that he was right that it was worth a throw of the dice.
* He thought viewers would be influenced anyway.

We had Joel nominate both Sam and Harry and Harry and Sam nominate each other and then both Nick and Aisleyne nominated him face to face. All his game playing shot to pieces!!!”

Which HM was it who said Marc was using a tactic from military training, tear them down then build them up (or something like that), when he clashed with a HM and then made up with them, so that they'd think they were on the same side? I think it was one of Nick, Joel, or Danny.

Was it only Sam and Harry who nominated him?

It was reasonable for Harry to be up, but since BB keeps changing the rule that translates nominations into who's up, it's also reasonable to be suspicious. Using the traditional "the two or more with the most nominations" rule, Harry wouldn't have been up.

I don't think it's true that the more up, the more money in votes. Indeed, the most votes might be when only two are up, if lots of viewers care about the result.

But in any case, I don't think the money from votes makes that much different to BB or C5. If they think Marc is an important factor in the ratings, then keeping him will be more important than trying to get more money from votes.

Disgraceful that he's up after receiving just two nominations.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Failing to convince some housemates that the clique (or in this case, a group of people who just happen to not like Marc) would start turning, I think Marc's trying to convince himself and the viewers that it's actually happening, when it's quite clearly not. They have no need to turn on each other while the common enemy is still in the house.
