With the initial qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League getting underway this week, I felt it was high time to start a thread for details and discussion of national, regional, local and international radio football coverage during the 2015/16 season.

I haven't read any news about the rights for Huddersfield Town commentaries, but presume BBC Radio Leeds will obtain the rights and be the only station to do so. Radio Yorkshire's Leeds United commentaries will not officially be available in Leeds, Wakefield, South Yorkshire or Humberside, but in parts of those areas it may be possible to receive them.

Wednesday 1st July - TNS Radio

UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round First Leg
B36 Torshavn v The New Saints - Stewart Bloor and Sam Thomas (7pm commentary)

TNS Radio is The New Saints' official website's online radio service, which carries live commentary on all of their games. They were on-site in the Faroe Islands tonight for the first leg of their Champions League qualifier tonight, although as the commentary team was behind glass the stadium atmosphere didn't really come across.

There was no BBC Radio Shropshire coverage tonight - it's not scheduled yet, but hopefully they'll be at Park Hall in Oswestry for the second leg on Tuesday.

Any thoughts on who gets the Friday night match between Aston Villa v Man Utd? Maybe talkSPORT because its the Saturday night match that is missing that weekend?

I would guess that Bournemouth v Villa will be 5 Lives 3pm match on opening Saturday.

There's a nice article about TNS Radio commentator The Reverend Stewart Bloor on the UEFA.com website: http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionslea...d=2263311.html

Ed Bevan only covers the T20 games for BBC Wales. I thought it was because he has semi retired. Does he cover other sports for them and that's why I doesn't do many cricket games now?

Tonight Radio Wales have been doing a preview of the First Ashes Test from Sophia Gardens at Y Mochyn Du, a sports bar near the ground, which is why Edward's part of the panel and why they're only doing second half commentary from Park Hall.

I guess Ed might only cover Glamorgan's home games periodically these days as he's an older broadcaster and might well be semi-retired. Nick Webb has been covering Derbyshire v Glamorgan in the County Championship for Radio Wales and the BBC online commentary service this week.

Thursday 9th July - talkSPORT

Drive Time with Sam Matterface and Ray Houghton, followed Kick Off with Mark Saggers and Francis Benali

UEFA Europa League First Qualifying Round Second Leg
FC Lustians v West Ham United - Graham Courtney

Cricket: First Ashes Test Match
England v Australia - Jon Norman

Tennis: Wimbledon 2015
All-England Club - Bob Ballard

Golf: Scottish Open
Gullane Golf Club - Phil Blacker

Cycling: Tour de France
Stage 7 - Lisa O'Sullivan

BBC Radio Wales

Steffan Garrero presented Radio Wales Sport from the SSE SWALEC Stadium with various guests

UEFA Europa League First Qualifying Round Second Leg
Bala Town v FC Differdange 03 - Simon Davies and Owain Tudur Jones (full commentary on the BBC Sport website, with second half commentary on FM, AM and DAB)

Radio Wales didn't have updates on the other Welsh Premier League sides in Europa League action tonight and I don't think BBC London had coverage of West Ham United's second leg in Andorra.

Look, no offence but the generally accepted convention here is not to step on other people's toes by posting details that someone else normally does.

Seeing as the poster you refer to didn't post anything about the 1st legs of these ties and we were 40 minutes from kick off in the second leg I don't think carlmacar was "stepping on anyone's toes" posting his info.

There were no details about the first legs to post. If there were, I'd have done so.

I'm referring to the fact that I posted about every single edition of BBC Radio Scotland Sportsound last season, putting considerable time and effort into first finding out the details then presenting them neatly.

It's kind of irritating for someone to then come along in the new season and try to "take over".

But I'll leave it there. Obviously I can't control who posts what on the forum so it's left to people to decide for themselves if they think it appropriate to "muscle in".

Calm down children, can't we all just post in peace. Or sort it out with a charity boxing match?

how pathetic, sorry, but it is. it isn't a compitition as far as I'm aware to see who can post the most... I'd have thought that what matters is that the information gets posted. maybe I'm wrong and its actually just a ego trip for certain posters to be able to say... look at me, I've posted details of every commentary on such and such a station since 1995 and how dare someone else have the temerity to post details one time instead of me. I exaggerate, but I think you get my point.
good for the people who show the commitment
to post details of a particular station, but it isn't their preserve alone!

It's not an ego trip. What I'm saying is that when one person takes the time and effort to post details from a station for an entire season, that otherwise wouldn't have been posted, it's a bit irritating for someone else to come along and take over having barely been seen on the thread in the past.

Moreno when the posted information is full of errors and not easy to read.

I'll now leave it there to avoid cluttering the new thread with off-topic posts. I have a particular view on this; others obviously disagree.

fair enough, though 1 post is hardly 'taking over' bit of perspective needed IMO. I think we should be encouraging new posters and not being critical if their spelling isn't as perfect as yours is... It just makes the thread seem very unwelcoming. for the record, I can't speek for content of his post, but it was easy enough to read. but, I'll now follow your lead and leave it there.
