Radio Yorkshire had commentary on Leeds United's away match against Harrogate Town. I'm not sure who summarised, but Markk Wilson commentated.

I don't care how bad the spelling or Gran ma is
it is not a competition to see who can post the first or the fastest info or the most details with perfect spelling Knocking new entrants to this particular "hobby" of of ours means THEY might never return ever again which in turn leaves all of us in a poorer situation I don't like text speak on a written forum, but I'll live with it If I don't understand it I would prefer to PM the Poster and ask them to clarify. Instead of trying to ridicule them on a public and open forum On my own personal note Ian Cleverelly does a better job than me doing the radio commentators for Wales and the West, and I 'm more than happy with that I'll just post what is broadcast on the BBC Bristol Freeview channel which I think might not be received in Ian Cleverlys neck of the woods. There was one particular poster who posted radio info about BBC Devon, although I don't think I have seen him post for a while so if they are reading this, please come back and carry on posting When my team(Bristol City) is playing away,I'll do my best to record the output and post the info if no one else has already done so. If we want our particular hobby to continue and expand, I think we all could do more by asking those who frequent football message boards to see if any one would want take part in our hobby. |

Good luck to Bristol City next season. I'll try and post 3CR details more this season as they sometimes don't get posted on here. I rarely listen though as despite living in Bucks, my team is Swansea. |

I do think we need to welcome the posters into the thread rather than turn them away. No one owns the right to post details of radio stations and should in my opinion be thankfully of them for posting the details.

I've just read that Absolute Radio will be arriving on FM in the Midlands from September and plan to cover Baggies / Villa games. I can't provide a link at the moment due to technical issues, I'm sure The Diff or Connor will have more info

Yes, Absolute Radio have announced they are launching on 105.2FM in the West Midlands on Monday 7th September - they're taking over the analogue frequency of Planet Rock, which itself picked it up from Kerrang! just over two years ago. There's an announcement detailing the news on Absolute's website, which includes this line: Quote:
If you're a Villa or Baggies fan we'll be doing live Barclays Premier League commentary every Saturday afternoon with more coverage of the West Midlands teams.
Surely this heavily hints that a gut feeling I had last season is true - namely that Absolute were picking games involving the Premier League's five London clubs on a noticeably regular basis (going by my records, 21 of the 33 Premier League fixtures they did commentary on last season involved at least one London club) due to them having an FM platform in London. With them now having an FM platform in the West Midlands, I think we can expect Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion to appear in commentary picks on Rock 'N' Roll Football Live considerably more than the respective two and one occasions they were chosen last season. Indeed I remember Connor and others bemoaning BBC Radio 5 Live and Absolute for not having picked a derby between the two teams that kicked off at 3pm on a Saturday last season - were that fixture to take place in the same timeslot in 2015/16, I expect it'd be a nailed on pick for Absolute given the new platform. |

Carlmacar don't dare leave! You carry on posting with comm details as much as you like. Mark's post was the biggest piece of arrogant entitled nonsense I've seen in a long time.
If I've got it wrong and that's not what's been happening then I'm certainly very surprised. But anyway, I can see how this is now going to pan out tomorrow and for the rest of this season. |

I mentioned on the Football (TV) thread about my lack of posts) lately, but the reason for that is that my grandmother's health gradually decreased, and sadly died (from Peritonitis) earlier this week. I have listened to a few bits of commentaries on the way to either Velindre or the Royal Gwent hospitals, so here goes with the one missed:- Thursday 2nd Newtown v Valletta FC (Europa League 1RQ 1st leg) - Mark Poyser and Owain Tudur Jones (2nd half nationwide commentary - was told all was online) Quote:

Sorry to hear of your personal issue, In C. Please accept my sympathies.
I was very disappointed to come onto this forum for the first time and discover somebody being 'precious' because somebody dared to post something in an arena he considered his. I might understand it if all Scottish radio was being updated by the poster but I do not believe that to be so. I am unaware that some of us have our own area. What happens during holidays, sickness etc? To Calmacar, please do not leave because somebody is not acting in the spirit of this forum. We do not need to drive people away. I agree that we seem to have lost a few posters of late and we could do with some updates for the South and West of England, Merseyside and Northern Ireland. |

Saturday 18th July - talkSPORT
Ian Danter presenting Saturday Scoreboard Premier League Asia Trophy Final Everton v Arsenal - Sam Matterface and Alvin Martin (1.30pm BST commentary) Cricket: Second Ashes Test Match England v Australia - Jon Norman Golf: The Open Championship 2015 St Andrews - Rupert Bell and Bob Bubka Cycling: Tour de France Stage 14 - Lisa O'Sullivan I believe today's game is the only club friendly talkSPORT will be doing commentary on this summer. Dants has mentioned that Matchday Live will be returning in three weeks time when league action begins on Saturday 8th August, although I imagine they'll be doing Around the Grounds coverage on some of the friendlies on the next two Saturday Scoreboards between now and then. |

Thanks for the messages everyone. Means a lot. Seems odd going there and the house is empty except for all the boxes waiting to be packed.
So, with that in mind, let's make an awkward seque into:- Going by their twitter account it was Rob Phillips and Owain Tudur Jones doing Newtown's Europa League 2RQ game at FC Copenhagen on Thursday (just gone). |
