Thanks to the Difference for explaining the Talksport question

With BBC Devon I don't see why they don't broadcast the Torquay games from the BBC radio Devon web page.
Maybe I could/should check out if you go in through this site

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/13629210

It should have all Torquay games with updates of Exeter and Plymouth

Won't be able to check next week as I have to make the longest trip of the season to Middlesbrough
although I can give the commentary line ups for the Boro.

Does anyone know if/when Alan Green will be returning to 5Live this season? I haven't heard him on the station for quite a while now.

He often has August off, usually returns for the internationals at the start of September.

It has changed somewhat this season from what it was last season.

Countywide FM (103.4) and DAB is now used to highlight the feature match of the day, which is the sports editor pick. Last season, all Argyle games were on DAB, but this season due to changes, they can no longer split the service.

Also on 103.4FM & DAB this season, updates from Plymouth Albion games (and sometimes other minor rugby games) have updates provided into the Countywide service throughout, while concentrating on the Match of the Day pick. Score updates from all the Counties sporting action also provided into Countywide FM & DAB.

However the link you provided will give you uninterrupted Torquay coverage of what comes off 1458AM (Torbay & South Devon). The BBC Radio Devon link will be blocked until 1700, when Extra Time is broadcast, but I haven't tested that yet to see if it carries the Torquay game on there yet. However, as above they can't split it down any further, and the internet link on the Devon page is tied in with Countywide FM, so I doubt that it can't cover the Torquay game and provide updates as well of the others. In the too difficult box.

For clarity
95.7FM - Plymouth & West Devon - Plymouth Argyle games primarily and Albion if there are no clashes with Argyle
95.8FM - Exeter & East Devon - Exeter Chiefs coverage primarily, but when they are not playing also carries Exeter City games
990AM - Exeter & East Devon - Exeter City coverage primarily, but when they are not playing will also carry Cheifs coverage
801AM - North Devon - Will carry Cheifs or Exeter City Coverage, however if they are both playing at the same time, will be as Countywide FM
1458AM - Torbay & South Devon - Torquay Games (otherwise as Countywide FM)
103.4FM/DAB - Countywide - Will cover match of the day + updates from everywhere else

Hope that puts things in perspective

Sunday 16th August - BBC WM

Mike Taylor presented BBC WM Sport from Molineux

Championship
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Hull City - Mike Taylor and Mel Eves (12noon commentary)

Signal 107

Rick Houghton (?) presented Signal 107 Sport

Championship
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Hull City - Mikey Burrows and Andy Thompson (12noon commentary, also on Wolves Player)

Seyi Olofinjana was Mikey's co-commentator for Wolves' League Cup tie against Newport County last Tuesday.

BBC WM are prioritising commentary on Rochdale v Walsall over Brentford v Birmingham City tomorrow night, which is a refreshing move.

I forgot about the WM Details! Thanks for that.

Birmingham City are not playing tomorrow because Brentford have some pitch problems.

No worries on getting the WM details, thought you must have had some kind of issue getting them seeing as you'd posted elsewhere on here the day after the match had taken place.

Likewise I'd forgotten that the Blues match had been postponed and had just seen them still down on an out-of-date fixture list. It makes sense why WM are doing Walsall commentary tomorrow, they normally wouldn't if one of the other four league teams on the patch are playing on the same night unless the Saddlers are involved in what is clearly a more significant game (their JPT Area Final Second Leg v Preston getting chosen ahead of a routine Blues league game being one such example from last season).

Not sure who presented that but Rick would have been the UTV Network presenter on air (12-4) had they not been localised for Sport.

I did not listen to it but BBC Radio 5 were reporting that Steve Bower and Mark Lawrenson would be commentating at Anfield alongside Presenter Mark Chapman.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was just going by what was listed in Signal's online schedule. When I tuned in for the debut edition of Signal 107 Sport via the Wolves Player, the studio-based presenter didn't namecheck himself or get a namecheck, but I'm guessing he'll have been someone who presents elsewhere in the schedule and is just helping out to link the football commentary as opposed to being planned to become a mainstay of the coverage team. Most UTV Radio local stations tend to take this sort of approach to the presentation of their football coverage - the other Signal in Stoke being the biggest exception that I'm aware of, where Andy Jones and Jonty Sargeant (albeit they have other gigs on the station) are consistently fronting their sports coverage.

Tuesday 18th August - talkSPORT

Mark Saggers presenting Kick Off from the iPro Stadium with Ray Houghton in the studio

UEFA Champions League Play-Off Round First Leg
Manchester United v Club Brugge - Dom McGuinness, with Ray Houghton providing studio-based analysis

Championship
Blackburn Rovers v Cardiff City - Graham Beecroft
Derby County v Middlesbrough - Geoff Peters and Mark Saggers, with James Dodd producing
Huddersfield Town v Brighton & Hove Albion - Alan Biggs
Ipswich Town v Burnley - Tony Incenzo
Milton Keynes Dons v Bolton Wanderers - Ian Abrahams
Nottingham Forest v Charlton Athletic - Derm Tanner

talkSPORT will be doing full commentary on the second leg of Manchester United's tie in Brugge next Wednesday. I'm sure that'll be available online too, as all of their Champions League and Europa League commentaries seem to have been in recent years. I guess the reason why Radio 5 Live are making a big deal of being able to broadcast tonight's game live online is because they and talkSPORT have previously had difficulty in getting rights to the Red Devils' home European games full stop.

On BBC WM's coverage of Rochdale v Walsall from Spotland tonight, I've been listening to their build-up live now it's available on the iPlayer and TuneIn streams once again and Mick Kearns - who will be co-commentating with Chris Coles on the match for Saddlers Player - has popped up to provide some pre-match analysis. I imagine WM listeners will hear Mick's thoughts at half-time and full-time, as they always used to when I last listened regularly.

Why does 5 Live cover a lower amount of matches during the week? Does the station think fans are less interested in their teams if they play midweek?

See icecola above, but Johnathan Ford is studio host, as feed to Kenilworth Road went off at one point so he had to fill for a bit and played a pre-recorded interview.

Somerset DAB was playing the Mark Forrest networked region show, but when I checked again at around 20 past 7 it was the Midweek match.

5 Live Sports Xtra are taking Radio Derby's comms of Derby County v Middlesbrough, and this is also the audio option on the Red Button channel for Midweek Final Score (as I like to still call it).

No commentary on Southport v Gateshead anywhere tonight, but the Gateshead fans who run the Heed Army live podcast on a Sunday night did a live updates show tonight for the second-half. They had a couple of mates at the match who they were able to speak to on the phone and get updates/bits of commentary on what was happening.

All episodes of the podcst including tonights are available here: https://www.spreaker.com/user/heedarmypodcast
