Shuffle seems to work ok in Play Lists. But I haven't found anything that shuffles the entire library, like you could do in the previous version. Or at least I cannot see the option anywhere??

I suppose if i'm being particularly fussy, i do prefer the shuffle option because that's how i always listen to my music - headphones in, music app loaded and 'shuffle'.

I was trying it out today and it's not a massive hardship at the moment because if i want to 're-shuffle' the playlist, i can just manually select another song and it'll shuffle it all again.

Well you can just go to your library, list by Songs, pick one and then tap the Shuffle icon on the "now playing" screen and it will shuffle through your whole collection.

Ahh cool. Thanks. I guess I;m just so used to my old habit of swiping the song list downwards and the shuffle option appears at the top.

Just out of interest, does anyone know why you can't download the update via the mobile network...is there any particular reason?

You should try Mezzo. The shuffle button is still on that - it needs updating after the 8.4 update, but when it's working again, it's so much better than the stock app.

Yes. There were before options to list by composer, genre, song title and I don't know what else. That has been substantially curtained. And requests to sign up to Apple Music predominate. I don't begrudge Apple the desire to make even more f*cking moolah than they already have (and shareholders are getting restless that Apple is sitting on several billion dollars cash and neither investing it nor distributing it back to them), but I can't quite see why it should dominate an ordinary music app. But hey-ho we're only your sodding customers, Apple, don't mind us.

I would also like the abilitiy to revert to IoS 8.3, but of course that is just not possible. Wish I'd known before I'd upgraded.

Well, you know the old Daily Telegraph adage: Better Means Worse.

I'd never heard of Mezzo before, so I've just downloaded it (and had already updated to IoS8.4). Once installed, tap on it, the screen goes grey for a few seconds, then it just returns to the desktop. Would this be because Mezzo hasn't yet been updated to IoS8.4 or am I just a f*cking loser who should just be grateful people still speak to me?

I am having trouble adding songs from Apple music library to my music. When I click add to my music it shows a tick to say it has done it. But when I go to my music the selected track/album isn't there. When i go back to this track/album it is unticked again. The only way I can do this is to choose make available offline. This then adds it to my music. So why doesn't add to my music work on its own?

You can still do this. On the My Music screen, tap the red "Artists " label. The usual options are there.

You're right, it's because of 8.4 that it's currently not working but the developer is aware of it and is working on the fix as we speak.

Definitely worth the wait though. I paid for the app when it still had a 'pro' version but he's decided to make it fully free only recently.

Yes. ALL cellular downloads are restricted to 100MB (it used to be 50MB).
Regardless of whether it's updates, apps or anything else.

The ability to 'match' your rips from whatever source and then allow you to download a DRM free version that you can still use after the Match subscription has expired.

Contrast to Music which uploads your library of rips so you can play on any device signed into Music - BUT - downloads DRM versions that stop playing when you stop paying for Music. Yes this is stupid.

Ah right. Well that's a big difference!

With me having an active Match subscription if I download in Music is it getting the DRM versions or not when I ask for songs to be put into My Music?

you get a DRM version, the only way to get a non DRM is on 'matched' songs 'uploaded' songs and song purchased the old fashioned way from the iTunes store.

I'd update as it contains a lot of security fixes.

I found Apple Music much easier to use once I turned off Apple Music Connect in Settings > General > Restrictions. This puts Playlists front and centre on the main bottom bar of the Apple Music app. Far easier to get to playlists now.

Connected my iPhone to the USB port in my company vehicle, went to select the icon to show the track listing to choose a preferred track of an album and got greeted with an on screen message "Your accesory does not support Up Next. To use Up Next, first disconnect this accessory."
Whether this is just a bug or a way of Apple forcing me to by a new official cable I don't know, either way it's very much unwelcome as it's never done this previously before this update.

So really there's no point in renewing iTunes Match then? I wouldn't be interested in matching or uploading songs if I can just get them on Apple Music.

Excellent, I can properly enjoy Apple Music now rather than cursing it for ushering in the demise of Home Sharing
