Yes but IF Tesco goes to Talk Talk that will change.

You getting he feeling Tesco are trying to drive up customers on contracts , before what could be a sale.

The only thing I know is that Tesco phone and broadband is moving to TalkTalk.....

Where is the mobile division heading?

That is from nearly 2 months ago, I haven't seen anything to the contrary since?

Tesco is going through a rather strange phase that isn't quite growing pains but not being a dinosaur either.

I don't even think they have come to a decision as yet whether to sell off their mobile division.....given Sainsburys is about to ramp up their own offering soon, along with Asda and Morrisons soon to enter it would be a bit silly for them to jetison the project.

Tesco is basically 02 right? So if Tesco are good I might as well join 02 since i get 20% discount as I work for Sainsburys part time.

Yes but we all know uncertainty is bad for business, so we as customers will be the last to know.

It does appear they are trying to ramp up contract tie ins at the moment which the cynic in me thinks this could be for when they dump all theae customers to talk talk!

Let's hope they make it clear its not for sale and they are going to invest in it.

Talk Mobile isn't TalkTalk - TalkTalk own TalkTalk Mobile. Talk Mobile is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone.

Yes but the rumours are talk talk that it will be sold to.

I suspect people are being careful about entering in to contacts as no one with any sense wants anything to do with talk talk. (Que the I'm happy with TT post) lol

Why would TalkTalk want to buy 50% of a MVNO?

Surely O2 would have something to say if TT wanted to rebrand it?

It's a joint venture so O2 would get half of the value of any sale.

If they want to sell

well Telefonica want to shift o2 so they may also want to get rid of their share of Tesco mobile and totally exit the UK market.

Aren't Sainsbury's an MVNO themselves? Think they use Vodafone.

Yes Sainsburys uses Vodafone.

Will the o2 deal even be allowed? That is an interesting question on its own.

As for talk talk and Tesco - personal opinion is I suspect it will happen, however it's when. TT know they will.lose loads of customers when they take over as do Tesco know it costs them business now.

"Mobile by Sainsbury's" (as they call themselves) runs on Vodafone, and furthermore is a 50/50 joint venture with Vodafone - basically the same arrangement as Tesco Mobile which is a 50/50 joint venture with O2.

I find it interesting that both Sainsburys/Tesco Mobile are considerably cheaper for PAYG than their partner networks own offerings (e.g. 8p/min vs 30p/min). It doesn't make much sense.

I guess that is part of the image the value brands create and of course the networks like to be seen as a premium brand.

Also the space will be purchased on wholesale rates then resold
