I doubt I'll be getting many more trophies, playing on explorer difficulty was bad enough crushing would do me head in. And no way could I race through in under 6 hours.

It's true that the game hasn't strayed too far from its tried and tested formula. It wouldn't be Uncharted if it did. But what it has done is taken a great game and made every little thing a little bit better. The end result is an experience that many of us have grown to love over the years taken to the next level. That's why I'm so in love with it.

As I "gushed" earlier, I think chapter 11, when viewed as a single entity, is a work of genius. So many things going on and they all flow together. If you aren't in love with the game after that, frankly you're dead inside.

I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm kind of glad this is the last one. They can go out on a high and then go on to create brand new adventures with new characters, new settings and new gameplay. Between what ever they do next and the inevitable The Last Of Us 2, Naughty Dog's output is going to be really exciting for years to come.
I'll be starting Chapter 11 later tonight. Played through Chapter 10 last night and it was a nice change of pace. Enjoyed the exploration aspect of it - Probably the most open level i've seen in an Uncharted game. It's these surprising moments that keep me playing because i know all too well what Naughty Dog is capable of. Hopefully it's the turning point of the game.

Now i want to return to what i was saying before about the game lacking challenge - Does anyone else feel that the climbing sections in particular are an area that Naughty Dog could improve upon? Part of me believes they don't want to make the game too challenging but i can't help but feel this is to the detriment of the game. I miss the Tomb Raider PS1 days were climbing sections were anxiety inducing and navigating a temple to its highest point felt like an achievement. Now all we have to do is press forward and x and enjoy the scenery.

I always start on stealth but end up in full blown shootouts.

^ Agree with the above. Climbing has never really been a challenge in the series, if anything more annoying than challenging.

now for me i hate climbing in games its just something i have to get through to get the the bits i enjoy. tomb raiders climbing on the ps1 for me put me off playing the series entirely until the reboot.

I'm getting towards the end now, I'm on Chapter 17, and just when you think it can't get any better looking guess what? It gets better looking. I've really enjoyed playing it so far and I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog does next, Sony really are lucky to have them as first party developers.

Tbf most of why early Tomb Raider was so anxiety inducing was the terrible controls and grid system And I say that as someone who loves the early games, especially 2.

A thing I really appreciate with Uncharted 4 is that they've made more of an effort to make the hand/foot holds seem a natural part of the environment. They look far more like they're meant to be there and you're just taking advantage of them rather than obvious climbing tool.

I don't think the climbing is hard as such but there were quite a few moments where it took a bit of thought and pre-planning to figure out where to go next. There seemed to be several alternative routes and dead ends which added nicely to the exploration feel.

I quite like the climbing. I never feel lost even when I have to go some convoluted route to get to the top of a temple or whatever. And bad design could have had me feeling lost and frustrated the whole time. And as Claire mentioned above, there are a few dead ends which are nice but they never put you too far off track.

I think I remember the Prince of Persia trilogy on PS2 having some great and really hard climbing sections.

Its a shame there is no practical way to make the climb more challenging based on the difficulty setting you play on as they are quite easy. But as a story driven game some players will play through on easy to enjoy the story without finding too many locations which hold them up. Having a really challenging climbing section could hold up some players or even drive them away from finishing the game.

So overall I think they have made the right decision in making the climbing sections easy to navigate.

Your AI partner is like The Last Of Us, you're trying to be stealthy but they will run about in front of the bad guys, luckily just like TLOU they don't see them.

I'm not very good at being stealthy and still getting used to the different shooting mechanics, so dying quite a bit but still enjoying it.

Chapter 15 is the best chapter so far. That scenery, that set piece. That plot twist.

I just reached chapter 15.

On the previous level I enjoyed the last section where you have to find Sam, the stealth section where you need to avoid the bad guys while jumping around various rocky platforms was very tense. I admire anyone who could get past it without alerting the baddies. Luckily I got quite a way ahead before being detected, and eliminated quite a few before getting into a firefight.

So far I am not finding the puzzles too difficult. Not exactly easy, but I am solving them faster than I would usually do. The most difficult was moving the wooden circles to align the crosses and the pail of water.

The climbing sequences are not really bothering me...there are a lot of them, but I like the idea of alternate routes, and I am checking most of them out as it could hold treasures rather than just a dead end.

The chase sequence with the big trucks and bikes was just insane!

Played through part of Chapter 6 earlier and it's been my favourite chapter so far. Plenty of room for exploration and a bit more stealth involved. God I'm enjoying this game so much!

There was a stealth bit ? Who knew ?

I go into every encounter full guns blazing.

I found that one quite easy but I found an earlier one quite difficult. The one with the pictures of the pirates in the adjacent rooms and you had to rotate their sigils. Took a while to get into that one.

I want to know what make of jeans Drake wears because all that sliding on his bum he did it's a wonder he wasn't mooning at us at the end of the game.

Me too, Sam even killed a guard in front of someone but as I was in stealth they ''didn't see'' lol

On chapter 11 now, really liking it after a slow start.

I'm on Chapter 21 and honestly I'm completely over the gun play in this, it's an odd thing, I've played 4 previous Uncharted games and not had a problem at all, but in this Uncharted I'm just totally sick of it, for me it just completely kills the pacing and slows everything to a crawl.

Oh you're just about to rescue Sam? Have some enemies! About to open that major door that leads to another clue for your quest? Have the 9th ambush in a row! It just gets so stale.

Honestly I think I'd prefer Uncharted as a series in general if they kept gunplay to a bare minimum and just had it as climbing/exploring caverns and such with the occasional obligatory action-packed set piece.

Other than the boring shooting elements, I am thoroughly enjoying everything else this game has to offer. Really like the added depth that each character seems to be receiving this go around.

Just got to the climactic battle.... not impressed with this section at all... shame if this is how the series goes out but hey.

EDIT: Just completed the game, while the boss fight sucked a ton, the ending was really well done, nice one Naughty Dog

Oh, don't worry - I haven't forgotten about the clumsy controls in tomb raider but what I was getting at was adding a little intensity when climbing. Put a little more emphasis on the timing of your jump needing to be more accurate - Maybe introduce a hold button so you get a sense of hanging on and a bar that puts a limit on how long you can hang on for (having flashbacks of shadow of the colossus here). All I want is to be challenged in some way to add to the experience.

I suppose it could be viewed as a story driven game in terms of how often we get cutscenes and the quality of the acting but I do find it rather generic and boring. With The Last of Us I was literally playing for the advancement of the plot and emotionally attached to the developing relationship between Joel and Ellie. With Uncharted 4 I couldn't care less. I just want to run, shoot, climb and explore.

I think an extra difficulty setting just for the climbing sections would be a great idea. This way their profits don't take a hit due to people getting frustrated and the rest of us who want a challenge get one.
