I have also used Free Mobile in France, in Lille the 4G speeds were brilliant! What kind of 4G speeds you getting in Paris I wonder?
On 3G I've gotten usually around 0.01 Mbps... |

Got 68Mbps on 2600MHz, which is brilliant. Around 15Mbps on 1800MHz and didn't get to test 700MHz.

Remember that threes traffic management means that whilst a speedtest may be ultraquick, the actual throughput in many apps is restricted. in particular non-facebook video.

Just got back from Benidorm Spain never saw any 4G data and it was painfully slow with Tunein buffering like crazy and even Android play store updates and loading Facebook pictures taking ages to load

Just come back from Gran Canaria and there was some serious throttling of data going on.
Facebook was pretty good to be honest, but images contained within email and a fair few apps outside of Facebook were dog slow, but did work eventually. |

Have used it in the States quite a few times now. Will be doing again soon.
Never had a problem streaming etc. Spain was never too bad either, but I haven't been there for a few years though. |

So is there still no way around the throttling then? I'm off to Tenerife on the 30th. Would I even be able to video call my daughter over Facebook or Hangouts?
