You know what? With the continuing slow down of data speeds back in the UK, perhaps the plan is to make it as slow here as it is abroad - and then it WILL be like at home!

They are at least beginning to be more transparent on the Three blog at least.
I wonder what the real reason for the slow down is, have Three themselves agreed with the operators on a small amount of data usage of say 1TB per month, and if they exceed that Three will be billed a large amount extra?
Hi @Dave, sorry to hear you haven’t been happy with the service you’ve received in France recently Unfortunately, we do need to advise that the service you’ll receive abroad won’t be up to the same standard you’ll receive when within the UK, this isn’t a fault as such however more to do with the agreement we have with our roaming partners. We are required to manage the data you use for services such as file-sharing and streaming to ensure that we can manage the demand from overseas and that all of our customers can use the service. We do always recommend trying all available networks in your location to make sure you’re getting the best possible service however as you’re no longer using our network we can’t make any guarantees about the service you’ll receive. More information on using your phone abroad can be found here, https://bit.ly/1iPYpsu. These processes we have in place help us to continue to provide our customers with the ability to use their phone all over the world and without any cost in 18 countries Thanks, David
G’day! (sorry) Feel At Home is designed for general browsing, rather than streaming and downloading. You can stream and download, but you’ll find this is much slower than it is back home. Please click here to find out more about what is, and isn’t included with Feel At Home. We hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Depends on where 'Home' is In Congleton I got 0.12mbps down from '3' so getting similar speeds Abroad would be very much like here!

That's odd, know you've probably already done this but try rebooting your phone to see if that makes any difference. Making my second trip to Malcesine today flight takes off from Gatwick this morning .

I'm currently in Southern Spain. The download and upload speed on my iPhone 6 are not actually that bad at 8-10 and 2-3mbps respectively. What is killing it is the ping which is consistently at over 150ms.

General net surfing, Facebook uploading photos, sending photo messages is OK. But streaming video or updating my apps are impossible.

3 Denmark is good in towns, but patchy in rural areas. Denmark is well ahead of UK in terms of wifi hotspots. Most are really fast as well (20+ Mb/s), because they do not cope with such a huge volume if traffic.

I never had an issue with data speeds when in a good 3 reception area.

PS I live in Denmark as well as UK..

The speeds in Denmark and Sweden are great (and there's even 4G roaming between them, which is something Three UK still hasn't sorted out anywhere) but the problem is when using Feel at Home.

If you have a Three DK SIM, have you been over to Sweden and tried to stream video? Does it work, or is it effectively throttled so much that it's as good as blocked?

Back in Lake Garda now and Wind is still the best network to use. 3 ITA is practically going at a snails pace, virtually useless.

It's my impression that they allow speed tests to run unthrottled so that you can't complain about slow connections. Then they block every single thing that could be a little data intensive.

Freeview_Viewer & Yossi - PM's sent
VPNs for everyone!

But seriously I wonder if this is an agreement with the roaming networks or if they're just cheating out on it all.
Can one of you PM me the VPN please, I know I'm new to the site but won't tell anyone and am not from Three haha. Currently in Spain and speeds are abysmal (25kbps) but speed test says 12Mbps, clearly some throttling malarky going on.
