Herring soft roe- do any shops sell it anymore?

Herring soft roe is very delicious and a nice substitute for fish, if you dont have time and they cook easily too. I like caviar too but these I think definitely taste better.

Few years ago, Sainsburys and Morrisons used to sell them fresh and they were easy to find. I have seen other roes & caviar on the fresh fish section but can't herring roe Anyone know any places selling fresh herring roe?

I'm sure I've seen it in Tesco on the fish counter. They definitely sell it in tins.
I've not eaten it for years as I never liked it as a child. I do like tinned pressed cod roe - oddly that became almost impossible to find last year then all of a sudden it was back on the shelves. I've stocked up the cupboard now just in case of another drought!
