Is that the end of the storyline? or will there be more to it? I hope so, as if not it just comes across as nothing more than a headline grabber of a 'pregnant 12 year old'.

I agree. We didn't know she was pregnant till the last minute so there was no drama there. There hasn't been many scenes since Miley was born so no drama there. And now she's given her up. So what was the whole point?

When the story was first announced, viewers, with few exceptions, rejected it. Perhaps if they had re-cast the girl playing the role of Faye, it just might have had a chance. It was badly written and acted and many, including me, left the show while it was being played out. I hope they have wound the story up and we can get on with some good storylines.

I feel really mean for saying this as she's only a kid, but the actress who plays Faye is a terrible actress. She's very wooden and can't do emotional stuff very well at all.

Then again, with them employing 'actresses' like Brooke Vincent and Kym Marsh-Ryder-Marsh-Lomas-Marsh-Hooper-Marsh she'll have a long future on the show.

They only did it to get media attention. They dreampt up the story until she gave birth then didn't know what to do afterwards.

The actress playing Faye is the cousin of Brooke awful actress Vincent. She was hired for that reason and that is why she can't/won't be recast

In the top 3 worst storylines this year so far imo (fire and the Callum/Sarah/Bethany stuff are the others).

I'm sure she wasn't hired just because she's brookes cousin otherwise everybody's cousins would be in it, yet more brooke Vincent bashing on here

That is sad, as there must have been hundreds of talented little girls applying for the part. It shouldn't happen.

I think they pencilled Faye in as not loving miley purely because since she's arrived she seems to do three emotions: moody, sulky and arrogant. Oh and getting cuddled by Anna with a deadpan look on her face.

She's good at saying "Hiya Dad" - actually joking aside - I don't mind Faye, Ellie is a competent actress for her age.

Dreadful actress. I cannot believe that she was the best of the young actresses that tested for the part Or was she just a shoo in being that her cousin has been in the show for years with little or no talent for acting.

Talking of Ms Vincent, what's the betting that her next lover will be the woman from India that Dev fancies. I can't even remember her name she was that interesting.

I definitely don't think it's the end. Faye will probably change her mind and try to get Miley back.

Miley will return in about 13 years time as the new soap brat. This will also coincide with the return of Joseph Brown the new bad boy of the street who will lead her astray.

Wouldn't surprise me.

I expect Faye will have a road to Damacus moment in true soap style and realise she loves the baby after all - cue hankies - and then the poor child will be wrenched out back to living in that pokey flat above a bookies only to be ignored and forgotton while everyone sits in the Rovers of an evening as usual.

I agree on that one!! Faye was brought in as a young girl who'd had a terrible start In life & as such was sulky & unresponsive!! She has come so far as a character but she was never going to change into an angel when she reached her teens & to my mind Ellie Leach has portrayed this rather well!! As for the whole pregnancy s/l none of us wanted it & it seems, about 15 months too late, that Blackburn & his merry men/women have finally realised this & put it to bed, but throughout the s/l Ellie has done a pretty good job of acting out stuff a kid her age should not have experience of, and the birth scenes themselves were as realistic as any I've seen on a soap!!

Agree with the above. I think the actress who plays Faye does a good job of it, considering the extreme life experiences they put her through.

I just wish TPTB would be a little kinder to their child actors, and not load them with the responsibility of carrying heavy issue stories - eg what it's like to be the child of an alcoholic/murderer/murder victim; underage sex/pregnancy; being a victim/perpetrator of bullying; having a mental health disorder; endless variations on being adopted or a stepchild; and so on.

In the immortal words of the Floyd - Hey, Blackburn, leave them kids alone

This story has been so underwhelming, it was nowhere near as hard hitting as Sarah-Lou's pregnancy back in 2000. At the start of them finding out Sarah was pregnant, you had to see them put up with all the criticism, supporting Sarah like anti natal classes and her education, also the effects financially. With that we saw the effects on Sarah's social life and bullying as she only had Candice sticking up to her and she found it hard to meet boys due to looking after Bethany. How the family reacted and coped, we saw David's jealousy of there being a new baby in the house. We had to see Sarah take responsibility and adjust to motherhood, like looking after Bethany when she got home from school.

So far we've seen Owen walking out, him and Anna were on their last legs anyway, Faye's pregnancy just finished them off. Anna hasn't made Faye take any responsibility whatsoever, instead just letting her hang out with friends whenever and not getting her to look after the baby apart from the odd feed and nappy change.

Anna's been trying to get her to take responsibility. It's Tim who has been letting her go off with her friends and to be honest, that's fairer towards the character anyway.

You are so right about the Sarah/ Bethany underage pregnancy s/l, but that was in the days when the writers seemed to genuinely care about the characters they were writing for!! As a result of that the actors concerned responded with great, believable performances because they could relate to what they were acting!! Does anyone on this forum really think that someone like Helen Worth or even Tina O'Brien goes to work in a morning at the moment thinking, "Yes, I can really relate to this, can't wait to get started filming!!"....no, me neither & sadly it is reflecting in their performances!! Helen is a consummate professional by all accounts & tries her best but she looks lost & bewildered with the crap she's getting at the moment, while Tina, a once decent little actress herself just looks like, "oh well, wtf, I'm getting well paid!!"
That's the way it appears to me anyway!!

Just thinking on your last line, if Roger Waters happened to be a long term Corrie fan, I'd love to hear the lyrics if he was to write a song about the current state of it!!

The whole storyline has been a disaster from start to finish. For me the lad who plays Craig carried many of the scenes in the run up to the birth, the Tim has carried a lot of the scenes since. The whole storyline has been nothing but a creation to generate viewer shock and publicity. Instead many viewers were against it from the start for various reasons, whether it be Ellie Leach's acting or the fact they had a 12 year old giving birth as entertainment.

I honestly think Miley has been shipped out because the CS team realised what a mistake they had made and this is their get out card.

Does anyone recognise Jackson's Dad from his previous stint on Corrie? He played Mark Casey in 1991
