Deal or No Deal (No Spoilers — Part 22)
Continuation of: Deal or No Deal (No Spoilers — Part 21)
That tai chi demonstration was a complete waste of time- it added absolutely nothing whatsoever to the game and was just filler. I wish this show would add four more boxes to the list and then the show wouldn't have as much time for pointless filler. They could add 2p, £2, £15,000 and £300,000 boxes and it would make the show far more interesting and exciting than it is at the moment, where a quarter of the show seems to be contestants making 'funny' faces and tai che demonstrations. |

Martin definitely made the right decision to Deal when he did. The fact that Banker only went up by £3,000 after finding the 1p validated his decision if anything.
Box 9, please. |

Box 9, please. Curiously all three of them had the ten thousand in their box,so if they'd gone all the way to the end they'd have won almost as much as they dealt at anyway, and they would have been giving themselves a chance of winning serious money. They have all got lucky that none of them finished with the £250K in the last two boxes. I could not see myself accepting a deal for forty percent of the average under any circumstances. It's just too much equity to give up. |

At the moment the average amount won by the players is about fifteen thousand each. I reckon that would go up to about twenty thousand if they put a £300K box in,even if hardly anybody ever won it. That would add significantly to the budget. The easiest way to cut out most of the faffing around and pointless filler would be to return the show to a forty-five minute time slot,as it was in the show's early years. But I can't see that ever happening. |

Perhaps a £30,000 or a £40,000 box instead?I suppose the advantage of having a £300,000 box would be to raise the risk and make it possible for people to win even greater amounts of money, which could lead to more viewers and therefore more ad revenue, which would allow for the bigger jackpots. Perhaps DOND could be run in a similar fashion to Have I Got News For You; have a 45 minute, fillerless programme shown on Channel 4 at the normal time and then have an hour long programme shown on More4 with all the tai che demonstrations, 'funny' faces, 1p dances and other meaningless and pointless filler- that way everyone is happy! The filler fans don't miss out on their time-wasting, whilst everyone else gets an actual game of DOND without the faffing .

It appears there will only be 3 shows next week due to the horse racing bollocks once again.
However, Radio Times shows there being NO EPISODES on the week beginning 13th July. Looks like they have replaced it with 15 To 1. |

You have 7 blues and £250,000 left at 8 box, the offer is £13,000, you don't have the offer button and the Banker says that he won't offer much more even if you keep the £250,000 to 5 box. Would you Deal in that scenario? |

How about this extreme (but certainly possible) scenario:
You have 7 blues and £250,000 left at 8 box, the offer is £13,000, you don't have the offer button and the Banker says that he won't offer much more even if you keep the £250,000 to 5 box. Would you Deal in that scenario? Let's say I decline the offer and I manage to get to five boxes with the £250K still there. The Banker, true to his word, only ups the offer to fifteen thousand. Would that bother me much? Not really. I'm turning it down right away. But if he offered twenty thousand I'd almost certainly turn that down as well. So the lower offer just makes the decision to turn it down easier. In this scenario (the £250K and seven blues) I know the only way I can win serious money is to get to two boxes with it still there. If I lose it before then,c'est la vie,I've not lost a fortune. There's still Box23. If I took that £13K deal and we played on and the £250K was still there at two boxes I would be kicking myself that I had a chance to win serious money and threw it away. |

Note - Seems we have only got 3 days of Deal this week, so we'll shuffle this game through to a week tomorrow if that is ok with everyone
![]() All box choices made so far will be carried forward to a week tomorrow, anyone who hasn't made a box choice the deadline will be extended to a week tomorrow Another note, just saw a rumour on Twitter just now, "Is it true that DOND is taking a 5week break, week after next?" Reply: "It is taking a Summer break to make way for 15 to 1, not sure how long, 4-6 weeks" |

Here are the results of last week's box game.
Congratulations to Pink Knight (winner) and Scrumper (runner up) and bad luck StrictlyEastend with the wooden spoon. Looks like I'll be seeing you all back here in 4-6 weeks time! |

So just to clarify - 3 episodes of DOND next week, then a 4-6 week break? Or is there another full week of episodes before the break?

Slight change of plan it is then
DEAL or NO DEAL is on a SUMMER BREAK for the next few weeks, at the end of this week. Box numbers already chosen will stand for the show resumption whenever the summer break finishes, so no need for those who have already made their box choice to pick another box Plenty of time for everyone else to choose a box and don't forget lurkers there are some places left for anyone who wants to join in the fun from when we are back in action In the meantime, the box game is closed as of now but box choices will stay open over the summer break so people who haven't chosen a box can choose ready for resumption of play after the summer break Have a nice summer break everyone and hopefully see you all when we resume in a few weeks time

From what GCT said above, it looks as though there are the 3 games next week and then the break starts with effect from 13/7.
You'll be very welcome to join the box game when it's back ! I think I will join the box game when it returns, if that is ok? ![]() I think I get the basic gist of how it works, but if somebody wouldn't mind just briefly telling me the rules in case I missed something, I would be very grateful! ![]() Cheers |

OK - box game rules
One week choose your own box number (please check numbers already chosen - it makes my life easier ). Number to be chosen between end of Friday's game and before start of Monday's game. (I usually post the list around 3.30 p.m. on the Monday). If there are players who haven't chosen a number, I allocate them a box. The following week, richie4eva puts the players' names into a "randomiser" and you get the box randomly allocated to you. (Richie usually posts the list Sunday or pre 4 p.m. Monday). The only other rule is not to have the same box number for 2 consecutive weeks. As the next game is a pick your own you have between now and whenever DOND is back to choose a number (3, 4, 8, 9 and 22 have already gone !) |
