I would have taken the £6,500 and played it on Box23. Box23 is more favourable for middling and low sums this week because of the extra +£10K. If you're playing it for something like £5K there isn't a huge difference between getting halved (as you normally would be) and getting quartered.
Had they swapped their box and ended up with the £3K,they would surely have played Box23 with it and would actually have ended up with slightly more money.”
I'm surprised you wouldn't have dealt at 8 box, Sarahsaurus. That was a no brainer of a Deal for me, as:
1. It was 62% of the average, which is extremely generous on a two box game at that stage.
2. Even if you have an all-blue round, the Fair Deal would only rise to roughly £6,800 and given the Banker almost always offers around the Fair Deal at 5 box, there's VERY little to gain unless you blindly go to the end.
3. If you take the £5,000 to Box 23, you have a 60% chance of winning five figures and only a 20% chance of disaster, which is MUCH better than the odds of winning five figures and the odds of disaster on the board.
I would've taken the £5,000 to Box 23 and won £5,000 more than Kelly and Marie even though they had against the odds good fortune in the main game.
