He may not have bags of cash but at least he's got bags under his eyes, a more impressive pair I've rarely seen. His face kind of looked like he was going to have a game turn out just the way it did.
I'm very pleased that DOND is getting a lengthy summer break. It might mean coming back from it with a renewed interest again. It desperately needs resting through the summer. |

All that faffing about with the moustache/no moustache offers seemed to go on for ages. Of course everybody in the studio seemed to think it was brilliant fun.
News just in - it wasn't. At least not in my opinion. I thought it was just a lot of nonsense to pad out the show. Back in the glory days of DOND,when they had 45 minute shows, they didn't have stuff like this. They didn't need it to pad out the time. If they really expect people to keep watching this show, and if it is to have a long term future, they should have a total rethink about what they are trying to do with it while it's on its summer break. Returning it to a 45 minute time slot would be a start. The show at the moment is a shadow of its former self. |

As far as today's game was concerned, the £15,000 "Mohawk" offer was extremely generous, about 80% of the average. But he seemed not to even consider it. Perhaps he thought getting his head shaved on television (if the Banker had actually insisted it be done there and then) was a step too far.
So he left with his dignity intact but unfortunately not any money. |

I'm taking it even you would've dealt the £15,000, right? Even if you wanted to win big there's a good chance you'd be offered the Banker's Gamble if you left one of the big amounts to the end.
I doubt he'd offer it on a £100K/blue finish, although I would of course be delighted if he did and I'd accept it right away. |

I thought the moustache thing was cruel because he was actually considering it. there was probably a part of him that was considering the "mohahk" thing

It will be interesting to see if this thread is any livelier when the game restarts.
I doubt it somehow. So far there have been 68 posts on this new thread which has been running for about a week now,and most of those have been either the commentary or to do with the box game. There's been not much more than a dozen comments on the actual games, and about half of those have been mine. Oh well, never mind. |

That was one of the biggest come-backs in Deal history. For those who don't know, Adam had the WORST EVER board at the 2nd offer in terms of the mean, as he was the first person to take out the Top 6 amounts in the first two rounds. To go from that scenario to winning £15,000 is quite astonishing.
![]() You could hardly call it a forced box win either, as both of the £2,888 offers were VERY dealable even with the button in play with both being over 75% of the average and the latter was on pretty much on a one box game with 1p still in play. In fact, I definitely would've dealt at 8 box even if I had the button and would've lost the lot thanks to Box 23. I'm taking it you would've dealt one of the £2,888 offers too, Sarahsaurus? |

It might have come down to (literally) tossing a coin to decide whether to go on or not. He did well to turn down those offers but was effectively forced into realising his full equity by the Banker's final "no offer" offer. The players may not like the "no offer" offer but ironically on average they would collectively win more money if there were more of them,as they are then forced to open their box and cannot accept a poor value deal. If I ended up with a £50K/blue finish and the Banker made no offer,I probably wouldn't be that bothered. I'd prefer it to say,an offer of eighteen thousand, because I'm turning that down anyway, and with the "no offer" offer, you're effectively forced to open your box - which in most cases is what I'd be doing anyway, unless the Banker offered something like £23K,which I couldn't see happening. |

Rumours of the demise of Deal Or No Deal are premature!
There's a 10th birthday to celebrate this autumn and into yet another year of boxes and the banker throughout the coming winter months, with some exceptional people and outcomes in the Dream Factory assured. Contestant applications are currently open. Deal Or No Deal will be back soon, when the Channel 4 scheduler finally decides a time and date. www.channel4.com/dealornodeal I wish Cilla had been able to do a celebrity edition. God bless you, and the thoughts of many of us are with the family at the far too premature passing of a TV icon a few hours ago. |

I'm sure that DOND is going to get the axe any day now, even if it stays on air until next summer. It's been blatantly obvious for so many months now in which direction things are headed. The show has lost what made it immensely popular in the first place. I can honestly say that I have not remotely missed the show while it remains off air at the moment. As far as I can make out there is not even any certainty about its return date yet either, although I guess late August. It's had a fantastic run and had some memorable moments. It has been a show I've stayed with more than anything else in the genre, and I don't tend to watch game shows but this was always very different. It does now feel like time to move on by next year though in my opinion. Although I hope Noel stays on mainstream TV doing something, maybe even a return to the BBC! They need the talent badly.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/c...FB_mirror_main Yeah I read this yesterday and wouldn't be surprised if it gets the chop before next summer. When they changed the time I couldn't watch it because I don't get back from work until about 4pm but I'd completely lost interest in it anyway and I haven't missed it at all. I remember at the time some people said it was only temporary and it would soon be back at 4pm but it didn't happen and it's currently off air and has been for some time. 10 years is a good run but everything comes to an end eventually and for DOND that time may have arrived. |
