I haven't watched it for months, well it hasn't been on for months has it but I meant since it was pushed back to 3pm, and I haven't missed it at all to be honest. Pushing it back even earlier though is surely the death knell. They ruined it with the constant tinkering - box 23, guess the opening offer etc., it's just become too drawn out and tedious.

Just read that it's undecided if the show will continue due to no contract being signed.

If the show is to end it should be given a proper send off.

I've heard that Channel 4 are sitting on quite a lot of unbroadcast shows of DOND that they appear unenthusiastic to even air, and that just because the shows have been made does not automatically mean they have to be, or will ever even be broadcast. I'm sure they all will be, but it's clear that Channel 4 have issued the last rites and we are now just waiting for final confirmation of the end of DOND.

Maybe they realise that all the remaining shows are utterly predictable, average and rather tedious with few really good stand outs, much like large numbers in the past year were.

Don't know if this has already mentioned: Special 10th anniversary DOND Next Fri 8pm. Sarah Millican hosts, Noel in the chair. New series of 15 to 1 Fri also. EDIT: I see that it has.

Don't think it would be very fair on the people who have played, in what is increasingly looking like the last ever season, to not have their games aired before Channel 4 confirm the plug has been pulled

Spoken to a few Deal friends on Facebook and Twitter and they are just as disappointed with the timeslot as the rest of us

1.10pm is really a ridiculous time, essentially the lunchtime equivalent of a late night graveyard slot which nobody watches

I'd have a better chance of watching it at 1.10AM. By going to 1.10pm Channel 4 have deliberately chosen to effectively euthanase DOND and wreck any chance it had of survival and a decent audience.

Noel getting special treatment at 8pm on a Friday night next week then. Now there's a surprise! It does make you wonder what kind of audience DOND would pick up if the regular show was put out at that time, although obviously 5 nights a week at 8pm would be excessive.

Noel has in all probability already left the Dream Factory for the final time if all remaining shows have now been completed.

I still enjoy DOND but a half hour show would be more than sufficient. All the nonsense talk/padding out makes it almost unwatchable.

Themed week to start the new (and possibly last ) season proper on 21 September

Double Trouble - Grandparents

Premise just about the same as the Love Week we had in February

Deal or No Deal ‏@dealornodeal 4m

We're on at 13:10 for a number of weeks. It might change again and if it does, we'll be sure to let everyone know.

Found this earlier. Looks like it could be the end for DOND. Edmondo has put his home in Bitton on the market.

It will be interesting to see what ratings Noel's game will get in the primetime slot. It will make it clear whether Deal Or No Deal really is dead as a show or if there is still life in the concept. I would say 1.5m would be a decent rating for the special but I'm expecting 900k.

It's pretty irrelevant even if it gets 10 million to be honest. Channel 4 have made their intentions quite clear and done that tried and tested old routine of shunting a show out of sight to a very poor time in the schedule to totally destroy its ratings and then get rid.

Quite strange how we are in September and no episodes that were filmed in 2015 have aired. I could be wrong with that one.

Apparently all episodes that could be shown up until June 2016 have been recorded but nothing else has been done for a very long time. It seems to be over bar getting out what they have left, and I suppose the brutality of television is that sometimes they don't even bother showing what they have recorded, although I expect they will do so. Although no official announcements have yet been made which is quite strange so maybe someone somewhere is still hoping for a new contract at this very late stage but it looks a very long shot to me. Where does DOND go after being placed at 1.10pm? There is nowhere left. I could never see it going back to 4pm. It would be quite nice for it to become a prime time show but only now and again maybe, rather than a permanent fixture. The original concept and game, as it was before all the nonsense and changes was and remains excellent.

I'm curious though, because DOND used to be recorded as we all know, but everyone in the Dream Factory clearly knew the precise date the show was due to air, with various special weeks, banker birthdays, Easter, Christmas etc. But that whole dynamic must have been totally lost now with the messing around with the show and the time of its return.

I'd watch the special tomorrow, but I'm afraid I'll be watching the Rugby World Cup.

I miss the hey day of the programme and indeed the hey day of this thread, but it is time to end it.

I'm usually of the opinion if you don't like something, don't watch it, but a lot of people want to see it go, because of how much we used to love it. It brought people together and was just a bit of fun with a few boxes and some cash prizes thrown in. It tried to become something it wasn't.

How very well put Eugenespeed, it says it all in that paragraph.

It's been painful these past 18 months for purist fans on so many levels that I won't re-hash here again.

I'll probably just Sky+ all the episodes from now on. 1:10 is a stupid time and I hated the Double Trouble episodes.

I watched DOND from the very beginning as I started work at 6pm. I would record episodes if I was out. Don't think I missed a single episode. Then they stretched the format to an hour. And it was then they lost me. I then just watched the last ten minutes. Then they started messing about with the format and I'd had enough and couldn't be bothered. It really has overstayed its welcome and time to go. Pity as it should have ended 3 years ago and would have been remembered favourably.

Will you be doing your usual commentary for Noel's game on Friday night Richie?

Certainly will

The curtain raiser to the next (and probably final) season

The box choices are still open for those who haven't picked a box yet ready for kick off on Monday and just a reminder Noel's game tonight will not count towards box totals

Next week's competition will be a short one as there is horse racing on next Friday, and the week after will be a 'randomiser' week

What is a 'randomiser' week? I'm still a bit of a DOND rookie
