EE- Elaine Peacock (spoilers)
Apologies if this has already been posted, Maria Friedman posted on her Twitter that she returns to filming on Tuesday. Not sure how long for but didn't Maria say she would become a regular from the summer of this year?

I didn't realise she was filming again so cheers for the update. Maybe they're filming for Mick and Linda's wedding?
Elaine is a character I can handle in small doses, but I don't want to see her become a regular. I'm growing to like Linda a lot since the character has opened up in the past few months with particularly people outside the Carter family. Doesn't really need her mum and Mick smooching and fondling each other in the Vic. |

Maybe if she's s regular she will get toned down a bit. I don't mind her actually but she is a tad too theatrical for Eastenders.
Still with the Carter kids increasingly feeling the pressure it's understandable that she returns to support them. |

I wonder if her return will be down to the return of a Babe, which should be onscreen soon right?

Just remind me, have they explored Elaine's relationship with Babe or Sylvie yet? I recall that she wasn't a fan of Stan and she doesn't like Shirley at all. But were there any scenes at the end of last year between her and the two Smith sisters?

I dread to think the convoluted family history they'd develop for Linda's side, whom are pretty much a blank canvas, when you think about the humongous extent they've expanded/altered Shirley's pre-existing backstory over the last 18 months. |

I agree. IMO Linda is the best individual Carter in her own right and I could really see her working as a standalone character if the others all left.

Shock horror, but I am going to disagree with most people on here, but I really like Elaine as a character and would be quite happy with her as a regular. I find her funny and a much needed back up for Linda against some of the cliquish Carters.

Probably a brother or a cousin in neville peacock who married belinda slater. A pscycho uncle who teams up with babe or something
![]() I actually don't mind Micks relationship with Elaine, they lived together for years and Elaine became Micks mother figure so he feels extremely comfortable around her. We have been told snippets of Linda and Elaine's backstory, with Elaine cheating on her husband and Linda's guilt over her fathers death. |

There's a picture floating about on Twitter with DTC, Maria and Bonnie. I presume Bonnie and Maria know each other through their careers on the stage. I wonder if Carmel and Elaine will have any scenes together?

They should play to her strengths.
She could overhear Martin and Sharon talking about Michelle in America in the market, hitch up her petticoat, then pitch in: I like to be in America Okay by me in America Everything free in America I like to be in America Okay by me in America Everything free in America.... |

It's incredibly rare that I express any ill will or disdain towards any particular character in such a public forum, given that I am a timid, gentle, charming and good looking person (that oozes sex appeal.) It's simply not in my nature to be nasty to a soap character.
But I feel that I must speak up, and let you all know that I absolutely despise that gutless harlot Elaine. The way her and Mick shove their tongues down eachothers throats and grope eachother all around the bar puts utter hell in me. Her constant whimsical, theatrical disposition is the single most irritating thing I have ever witnessed. Detest her. Despise her. Thanks. |
