What doesn't make sense to me is that, in live week, Phil (presumably) tried to tell Ian twice, the first time he went into Beales' kitchen just before the wedding and only stopped telling him because Ben was there.

Then, of course, he ended up at their door to try again just minutes after Ian found out the truth about Lucy. Phil was quite insistent about telling him, but Ian told him he had to wait.

Since then, Phil's been keen on keeping it hush. What changed? Is it simply a case that Phil gave up trying after two attempts, or what?
