He's not as clever as he thinks as my first question was how big was the pizza they were of offering.

His mask has not so much slipped as fallen off completely increasingly the last few days. He's losing control of his composed facial expressions and the real ones are starting to show themselves more and more. Sly, sneaky little weasel he is.

It's entertaining though! That clip where someone made a joke in the kitchen and he laughed hysterically as he turned away from them, only to look instantly turn to a grumpy look again when his back was to them (bit like Simon and his 'crying') was great

No way he's like a mini David Cameron, even the way he speaks and frames questions is done the same way as him.

I'd say he has been the most divisive housemate this year, people literally love him or hate him and for him to have made it this far is a triumph!

For me that makes him the best housemate left, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished 3rd place - as most of the best housemates have done over the years. But I hope he takes the title... he deserves it.

Joel to win!

You mean, of the ones still in the house?

Or perhaps by 'divisive' you meant 'polarizing', in which case I'm still confused.

I think I've got my words mixed up, basically he has been the most "Marmite" character this year.

He has brought out many a debate on here, and actually kicked off a lot of the talking points.

That's what I thought you meant, but don't you think Marc polarized opinions more? And certainly within the house he caused more division and hostility than Joel too, no?

I'm watching it on catch up and I LOVE Joel! That was hilarious. Finally, something amusing. Mind you, I'm only half way through the episode so I'm fully expecting more fireworks...

In the house, definitely.

But I think out here since day one Joel has split opinion.

I agree. That would of been mine. Just goes to show how greedy he is. Also, not as clever as he shows or makes out to be. But because Joel did it, it's ok. If Marc had done that, or perhaps even Jack or Danny, there would of been one almighty row in that house.

There wasn't a row, but there was an awful lot of passive aggressive behaviour... Jack chucked Paprika on it and turned the oven up so it would burn.

Classic BB moment.

He'll be handing in receipts for £2,500 pizzas, when he makes it to the back benches.

And they all think it was accidental, because he lied through his teeth.
That wasn't shown, was it?

If that was someone else with the money / pizza he would have gone mad, into his hand moving old man routine, yawn.

But I guess as its him, its ok then?

I couldn't believe it when he said ; I only pressed the button to stop the timer going down for the funds for the winner' What total tosh!!

I don't know why they all complain about being punished after they've been warned that they will be punished. I get the feeling the only one that really cares about the money is Jack.

Eh?

He said he thought they weren't gonna actually take him up on the offer because of how ridiculous it was. He told them he had dealt at 2.5k that's why Chloe etc got angry.

idk why the bashing for joel for every small thing...

not asking for the size of pizza = greedy & not clever?
seriously?
I didnt get your logic lol

if you are buying the same food for 1 month
would you still asking for the size of the food they sell every time?

same with him, everytime he is given pizza, it was the size of the box what Danny smash
if you were him, would you still asking the size?

Like I said, he is definitely Marmite... you have those that love him and those that hate him.

No 'divisive' was fine, it was very clear what you meant. 'Marmite' works too ofc

Surely the most divisive character this year was Marc, though?

Back to Joel and he really slipped with the lying over the pizza. His composed politician act failed him completely when he came out the diary room, and he couldn't string a sentence together!

And he was lying.

He knew the deal had been done, because BB told him that.

He agreed to the deal, straight away, after asking if he had to share it and being told "No".

If you are going to be spending 2 grand on a pizza, yes, I would ask for the size. I am sure many others would as well.

^ size doesn't always matter lol.

But at that point, I don't believe he thought they'd actually go through with it.

BB called his bluff and it was hilarious! My favourite moment this year is him lifting that lid and seeing a micro pizza.

We saw it in last night's show.
He definitely made the deal.
There was no ambiguity, but he made out to the others that it was just a laugh.

No bluff called, just a lying liar lying.

It does seem to me that very few people have changed their minds about Joel, which is to say they either liked him or disliked him from the outset (whereas other HMs took longer to weigh up, perhaps) and have slowly reinforced their opinion of him for better or worse. I can't think of a word for that.

As far as dividing opinions on the forum and elsewhere though, Marc is the king. Once he entered the house he consistently topped the most liked and the most disliked polls. Surely that's the very definition of "Marmite"? Although, unlike Joel he did manage to change a lot of FMs' opinions, for better and for worse. There should be a word for that too.

Of course it was. Lots of people misuse the word 'divisive' like that all the time.
