I am a little behind Oaks, just watched the week where Rose disappears and even though I am no fan of the Lomaxs or Scott being part of the kidnap the story, involving the Lovedays and then Cindy, Dirk and Holly was actually very good. We got some decent continuity with Cindy remembering when Holly went missing and I loved how Cindy and Simone were such rivals and it was Cindy that brought the family back together, I am very interested in the Lovedays and think the actors have a good chemistry together.
I did also laugh at Sienna when Ben asked her if she had ever had a ride in a police car and her answer was 'no never'
There are some positive things about the show, like the characters above I mentioned, Grace and Trevor are also great though I didn't like Grace sleeping with Kim again

I absolutely love Zoe Lucker so having her as a regular is a boost and the story with her, Cleo, Porsche is being written well.
The way deaths are just brushed under the carpet though is the biggest issue for me, one episode the Mcqueens were all upset about Phoebe having her operation, then when she recovered they were all happy. The next episode she dies and they was hardly any shock or emotion from anyone, that was really poor. The Roscoe's (bar Jason and Robbie) are still crap, and the Lomaxs are also heading that way now as well. Sinead is just an absolute bitch these days, with the brilliant Alex Fletcher as Diane not much better. The less said about Scott the better.
The hospital set is really dragging the show down though, for starters I don't really care for any of the characters that work there, Lindsay especially is an annoying bitch and how each and every one of them can get away with the things that go on is ridiculous. If they brought back the Uni and SU bar, bring in a couple of students to get that Hollyoaks feel again and ditch the hospital then the show would improve, axe the Roscoe's (expect Jason and Freddie), axe Tegan, Kim, Dr'Savage, Scott and unless the writing improves Sinead as well as she really has become unbearable these days.
