Is it 14 weeks long this year? And presumably the launch show three weeks before the first live show? That would mean a launch show in the last weekend of August? That will feel so strange, to have SCD in my summer holidays, when I normally associate it with Christmas time!!

I know I was wondering the same thing

I think it's been suggested that not all the pros will be participating competitively (i.e. with a celebrity) this series but I don't know how much basis in fact that has. I would be surprised to see the show return in August, though.

I hope all pros are competing. It would be a waste of a pro or pros. Gleb has insinuated that he will have a celeb as has Otlile and Giovanni

Along with Tristan, I hope they get the 4 competent dancers this year.

I read somewhere (probably on here) that there will only be 14 celebrities this year

Ola and Anton not having celebs possibly? I get the feeling the might be easing Anton away from the dancing side and into a more dance/presenting role, and I've read that Ola has started dancing again but isn't up to full strength yet, and if she doesn't have a celeb partner that's a lot less stress about pushing herself to hard before she's fully recovered.

That's just my thoughts though.

I'd expect the pro dances are a lot more testing than teaching a celeb.

Oh I see... I was actually hoping it would be launching early!

If 16 professional dancers have been announced then there will be 16 celebrities.

Looking at it date wise SCD 2015 could still remain a 13 week series if either the first elimination takes place in Week 1 or there is a double elimination sometime in the series with a final 4 again.

A launch date of 6 Sept 2015 then live shows from 25 Sept 2015 to 19 Dec 2015 will probably be the schedule.

Most likely think they might do a double elimination later in the series just to have as many people in as they go along to keep u the excitment

But every single series apart from Series 1 has had 2 less weeks than contestants - I really can't see that changing.

If they do a double elimination they will still have less weeks than contestants though? Maybe they want to fill the time Tess has so her intros don't have to long comedy intros she can just announce a couple and then they are on, make the way the show flows better

In all honesty I can see a Dancing on Ice "Qualification" twist coming up for SCD Weeks 1-2, I think 8 celebs will perform in Week 1 with 2 couples eliminated and then the same again in Week 2 with the 12 remaining couples competing from Week 3 to Week 12.

I definitely can't see that. That was rubbish, and they don't want to kick 4 out when they've all only danced once.

With the current producer, anything is possible.

I'd hate that. I like getting to know the contestants for the first two weeks - eliminating four after just one dance is just cruel. Besides, if it ain't broke, don't fix it; and SCD isn't quite in the Dancing On Ice level danger zone yet

Well Dr Who this year is starting later on Saturday 19th September. Could Strictly be starting on the same weekend i.e. Friday 18th September 9:00 till 10:00 then Saturday 19th September 7 approx till 8:30 and call it a "Bumper Weekend on the BBC". I think so

So using other program's itinerary we can possibly figure out other program's itinerary

pros start rehearsals in 3 weeks, accordingly to a Brendan tweet this morning - which would put them in rehearsals from 3rd August

how long are the usually given to learn all their routines?

It was 11th August last year a week later than this year surprise, surprise, things seem to be happening a week earlier

And we still seem to be in the dark about who is likely to appear.

Frankie was announced on 13th August so the first celeb may be announced on 6th August roughly

True, but I was really referring to the lack of proper rumours substantiated by twitter follows, press interviews/hints etc.

I doubt it as it will mean Ripper Street having to end with a double bill or change it's final episode screening. I think that it will start end of September (Fri 25th) and there'll be a double elimination at some point...

This is very likely! 😊
