I have received confirmation from my vet today that my elderly cat has diabetes. I have been told that I will have to inject him daily with insulin. I know that they are going to show me exactly how to do this but I am really worried about it.

Does anyone have any experience of caring for a diabetic cat? I would really like to hear the experiences of people who have.

Ours did - she loved her daily injections (you do it on the back of the neck)

I do understand your worries tho but I am sure, after a few goes, you will be fine and at the end of the day you are doing it to help your kitty, which is the positive and will make it all worthwhile

thats probably no help to you whatsoever but try not to worry about the injections

Likewise, I've not had a diabetic cat, but ISTR that cats with diabetes can go into remission sometimes. So, there may be times without the need of daily injections for the rest of pussy's life.
