Some people seem to swear a lot when they speak,I have an old Irish friend and he swears dreadfully but he means no harm,I must admit I got used to it

I didn't realise he would make me smile as much as he did,he was so quick witted -very funny

Thank heavens he has seen the light re pinocchio and now knows how he and chloe were dumping on him in the DR the WHOLE time .”

Now he's gone all the proper crap arguments are happening...harry as a prime example suddenly wanting to get involved in everything, spit flying around left and right no less. She always used to say marc was afraid of her, but she has only piped up since he has left. Before she would simply brood.”

Not quite true, Harry defended Marc against Nick of all people, whilst he was still in the house. She defended him a couple of other times too, again whilst he was in the house. I remember her saying in the DR that she didn't like him but that didn't mean she wouldn't defend him if he was, in her opinion, right and others wrong.

YOu may be misremembering in your desire to show how Marc is right and everybody else must, therefore, always be wrong

Wow.

Mostly, a lot of palava about C words.

I really can't believe that people haven't heard cancer being used in that sense, right here in the UK.

How do you manage when people tell you their star sign is cancer?

Must have missed a few episodes.

Describing someone as a cancer to society is a pretty common metaphor. #drama

In other words, you've no argument, you can't handle a modicum of complexity. Sorry, but 'complaining is complaining' just doesn't cut it. Try harder.

Lol! What are you blathering on about? How would one complain about a comment without complaining about the intent behind it. It's the same damn thing. You've clearly just ignored every word I wrote and fabricated some vague argument of your own that you're more comfortable dealing with. And you have the nerve to call me obtuse? Hilarious. I'll leave you to it.

No, that's equally as stupid, moronic, half-witted. imbecilic, thick, asinine, cretinous, mindless, idiotic, doltish, lame-brained, dumb, foolish and yes, retarded, as the 'cancer' complaint. Whatever you might have 'learnt' in America is irrelevant, this isn't America, but I pity those Americans with their heads screwed on right who have to put up with this kind of crap. Mentally disabled people don't have a monopoly on the word, it's not a word with clinical origins, nor is its usage otherwise unique to mental health.

I normally hate accusations of political correctness - being offended on behalf of others in that very patronising way - but this is such an inane instance that it warrants challenging. Nobody complains when we use other synonymous adjectives to describe things we deem 'of low intellectual accomplishment', so why in recent years has this term 'retarded' been prohibited? Get a grip.

Why try to obfuscate something simple with a bunch of pompous, nonsensical ramblings? Oh yeah... cause you got nothing else.

Try Harder? Why would I bother though? That would imply you're worth the effort, trust me boy, you ain't.

So you admit to complaining about my right to alert the moderators? Well guess what? That ain't none of your business boy.

It has nothing to do with Marc fans and everything to do with decency . Many people have suffered from and watched loved one's lives and bodies being torn apart for the horrible disease,
Some of us have seen children , at the very start of their lives, having to go through treatments with horrendous side effects and eventually die in pain because there is no cure yet.

I for one, don't find it in the least appropriate to use such a word to score a cheap point of a gameshow forum.

If the poster had written "I wish Marc gets cancer" then sure that's horrific and totally uncalled for.

However, What he did was describe Marc as "a cancer" in the house, which is not an uncommon metaphor. Google it. It's not a nice thing to say but I think people need to get off their high horses.

I can't believe some people haven't heard it used this way.

Yea I was shocked by the poster saying they had complained about a saying so frequently and inoffensively used but more shocked by the number of people who supported the complaint. There have been many many more offensive things said on this forum.

Oh well, where ya get one...... only joking.

Imo If it's clearly understood as a metaphor then we're not really talking about Cancer - the people killer. It's the same word but with a different meaning. Maybe it just reminds them of the incorrect meaning of the word.
