I like the Ben and Paul stuff, Abi makes me laugh with her desperation.

Sounds fun .. and as for Pam's suggestion for Paul, I could actually see that being a little fun in a macabre way as well. .. I mean, don't corpses need hair and make-up done too?.

Ben is one of my favourite characters. I know a lot of people on here are unforgiving because of Hev but unlike Dean he did do time for that. I think I like him so much because he grew up on the show, with different faces here and there, but that's the soap way, due to child actor laws etc. Because we have seen him grow up, I think that it has layered the character, we know why he does things, we know about the Stella stuff, the dancing, the feeling of inadequacy because his dad wanted a "mini me" and not a sensitive, vulnerable gay kid. Phil's domination and his string of women had such an effect as did the loss of his mum. Ben is often said to be the evil murderer, but really I don't think his intention was ever to kill Hev he just wanted to dig himself out of the hole he had dug for himself at the time.If I had as disfunctional life as him I can't say that I wouldn't be as confused and do the wrong thing the way he does because it would take an incredibly strong person to go through a life like that without being a touch unhinged imo. It does, however, make for an interesting character with a hell of a lot of mileage in him and Harry Reid is imo the best actor to have played him and I hope he stays with the show long term, unlike some of the other younger actors in recent times. I do hope the romance with Paul lasts, lets not have yet another young gay whore on a soap. I do realise there is that section of the gay community that would have sex with anybody and everybody, but we're not all like that as some T.V drama's have portrayed us in the past, we can be faithful too.

Aw Aaron you're really fond of young Ben aren't you! Ben is a really interesting character because he is so messed up! Phil was hardly a doting dad and his mum "died" at a very young age. He is in one of the most dysfunctional families ever and don't forget he was abused by Stella. There are so many reasons as to why Ben is the way he is that ,like you said, makes you feel sorry for him.

Sexuality can be a very complicated thing so when you add it to an already complex mind then it is bound to cause problems! His relationship with Abi is a bit of a sham and they need to go back to being just best friends and she needs to support him well. Thankfully Paul is there and he's gonna be great for Ben as he can talk to someone who has gone through the same thing which can only be more help. He is going through such a complicated time in his life that makes interesting viewing but is also an important topic to raise. I've said before that it is quite important for me and it seems it might be important for you too?.....
