The LF is this years model, LB is 2014 model too.

Id get the newer one of those, can get a magic remote too, probably wont come with it but you can buy it separately for about £40-50, well worth it as it makes using the smart features much easier and quicker, plus you can programme it to work freeview boxes, sky, surround sound etc

Reading this has me worried and confused about what to invest in...

I am currently using a 10 year old Samsung 26" in our living room and looking to seriously upscale, hopefully for a tv that will last another 10 years. Seems silly at this point to leave 4k out of the equation with that in mind, but then others here appear to disagree...

My budget is around 600 quid, and after looking around the PANASONIC VIERA TX-48CX400B seems to be the best value? What do people think? How does the specs look to the experts? Should I stick with a Samsung d600? Curved seems to me quite irritating if you're trying to watch at an angle, lots of reflecti0on

It seems an incredibly stupid idea

Not a single advantage, and plenty of disadvantages - bizarre!.

Broadcast Magazine reported Chris Johns at Sky
saying the only advantage was it was easier to get around corners!!!

That is because the final specs for 4K have not been decided yet. Any 4K set you buy now will require a set top box once broadcasts start.
