Toying up between the Asus and the Lenovo

Hello, looking for some help on which tablet to get. When it comes to the "fancy specs" I get very confused, so any advice would be appreciated.

I'm looking at getting a standard tablet, for browsing internet, playing games, and skype, so I don't need or want to spend a lot but I came across the Asus Memo Pad 7 (7" screen, 8GB) and the Lenovo A7 (7" screen, 16GB) both are the same price on different websites at £59.99.

Just wondered if anyone has used either, and if there is one spec on either model that means I really should or shouldn't get it. Thank you for any help in advance.

I'd steer clear of any Android device that has 8gb internal, it'll fill up real quick. And depending on the version of Android, you may not be able to move stuff to SD without resorting to rooting.

What is your budget? I would suggest that you would likely get a much better experience spending a little more and getting the Tesco Hudl 2 - exceptionally good screen, one of the fastest when it comes to browsing, and overall a very good device.

Well I won't really need to transfer files, as it's more for bored weekday night entertainment, than anything else, won't be taking pictures with it either.

It's about £80 is the maximum, but obviously if there's a fantastic deal of rrp is £220, now £100 then I'd get that. I've also heard quite bad things about the hudl, that could have been the first gen, but that has put me off the brand.

HUDL2 is also quite heavy, and maybe a bigger screen than you would want.

The Lenovo A7 seems fine to me, I have never used it but it reviews well. £60 from Argos.

I've had an Asus Memo Pad 7 for a few months, very pleased with it. Takes a memory card and has recently updated to Android 5. Seems pretty quick to me.

My advice would always to look first at direct customer reviews on places like Amazon, Argos, Reevoo and Trustpilot when looking at consumer electronics devices because I have found that it's a good way of sorting out the nice cherries from the bitter lemons.

I have read all the reviews but most are I've had it a day it's great, hoping for more insightful reviews, if that makes sense.

The weight hadn't occurred to me with the hudl, but you're right on the size.

Well that's really good that the asus upgraded to 5.

I'll have another long think tonight, but thank you for the help.
