Hi mate I have ordered mine after contacting BT CEO I received an apology and they place the order I had to do a couple of hard wired line tests. And send them the results and they sorted it, they said there was a problem with there system that was stopping some people from placing the order.
My advice keep at it and don't let them bullshit you. I will email BT's CEO and see what he say's and go from there. |

Hi, no I tried last Friday by phone was told a hold load a lies like only 75% of customers were allowed it and I was in the 25% who couldn't but without giving a reason then told you need a speed of 55mpbs then was told they were not taking orders until this week but as you can see from this forum that was a lie as well.
Good luck |

The new bt sport 4k channel was been plugged alot today during the charity shield. Must say this 3dtv seems like a white elephant that never really took off. Sky have stopped 3d and alot of mainstream programmes were never made in tv like news, coronation st etc

Why would you imagine such programmes would be?, in any case 3D was always doomed to fail - as it has every other time it's been launched. |

After buying a new 4K 43" TV on Tuesday as part of Amazon Prime Day, yesterday I bit the bullet and ordered Total Entertainment, and I am likely to upgrade my Netflix subscription to UHD soon too.
My new YouView box arrives on Monday, but it'll be at least a few more days from then before I can give my first impressions as I am going to book a professional wall mounting/installation of my new TV, BT box and other devices. Needless to say I'm very excited, even though almost a year after launch, BT's UHD "range" still consists of just one sports channel with limited content! A516 Digital have said BT is expected to make an announcement on furthering their 4K package, which will be very interesting and much welcomed. Coincidentally yesterday Sky announced their UHD service begins next month, and they're going to have quite an impressive line up at launch, particularly in the way of football and films. I'm not sure how BT will be able to compete for UHD adopters with Sky but it'll be interesting to see exactly what BT will offer next. |

My new TV and UHD BT box were installed about 7 hours ago and here are a few brief early thoughts about the hardware and service:
- £5 more than what my last BT TV package cost each month seems a little steep for just one additional channel, especially at this time of year where there isn't much UHD sport being broadcast. However, hopefully BT will extend their Ultra range later in the year. - Very happy with the picture quality I've seen so far on the BT Sport UHD channel, it's crisp, the colours are vibrant, and I can't wait to watch a full football match on the channel. - Also upgraded my Netflix subscription to 4 screens w/ 4K today, though haven't tested this out yet, hoping to by the weekend. Far as I'm aware, my new TV doesn't support High Dynamic Range. - The Youview UHD box is nearly identical to my last set-top, which for me is no bad thing. Navigating the menus feels a little nippier than on the old box, and that one performed decently for the last two years. The remote also feels a little lighter than the previous one. - As for the TV itself, I'm very happy with my purchase, especially at such a good price, and I'm happy to be "futureproofed"! The 43" screen is the perfect size for my room and seating distance, having upgraded from a (very good) Finlux Full HD 32" screen. Maybe it's a case of getting used to a bigger screen, but everything feels brighter, a little TOO bright really. But I'll fiddle with the picture settings at a later date, assuming I dont get used to the current mode. - This model is due to receive an OTA upgrade to Freeview Play at some point this year, not sure exactly when. The current EPG looks a bit boring and plain compared to Youview, but the update will no doubt fix that. - The Finlux Smart Hub is hit and miss, it has a nice layout but the choice of apps is rather limited at present. Having a Twitter widget on the Smart Hub home screen is a nice touch, however Netflix will not load on the TV, in what appears to be a similar problem to the app on my Blu Ray: it's lacking an important software update to ensure it runs. This isn't a major issue for me as Netflix on the YouView box loads up perfectly. I tested the YouTube app on the TV and that works fine. The telly's lack of decent apps I use a lot like Amazon and WWE Network is not a big problem either as I access those on my Blu Ray and Amazon Firestick. So there's my early thoughts on BT Ultra/Total Entertainment and 4K TV in general, I'll no doubt have a lot more to say after a few weeks of giving the hardware a lot of testing. Would I recommend BT's UHD package? If you're already paying £16 a month for Entertainment Max and like your sport, I'd say yes, otherwise I'd suggest saying on the Max tariff, even if you have a 4K telly. I also give the Finlux TV a thumbs up: while the smart features are mediocre, this won't be an issue if you use other devices for on demand/streaming content anyway, and the picture, sound and ease of use are all excellent for the price I paid. |

I am getting installed on Monday 15 August 2016 - a new telephone line as there is not one previously,
UHD YouView box and the new Smarthub Broadband box with one Landline Phone Handset free - it came with the installation as I managed to negotiate it, as I was paying a huge installation fee so I thought I haggle it and they allowed it, I would not have joined otherwise Fees I will be paying since I ordered it a while ago before the 18th of July 2016 Installation Fee - £112 UHD Monthly fee - £15 a month BT Music - £4 a month Phone Line Rental - £19.00 a month Broadband Infinity 1 Unlimited - 52MB Broadband- £20 a month The reason I ordered the UHD box was because it has a bigger hard drive inside and also for the BT Music service - for the music videos and the concerts |

The UHD package includes the sports channel HD upgrade so it's only a pound or two more per month for the otherwise same set of channels. And the UHD box has twice the HDD capacity of the standard BT Youview box (or did last year when I upgraded).
Of course, if you don't want all the extra channels the cost increase is greater. the channels in question are the AMC channel and the BT Sports pack What you have to pay for are the Sky Sports and Sky Movies packs, also there are no Asian or Sports channels separately with BT, currently these are Zee TV, Chelsea TV, Liverpool FC TV, MUTV, Box Nation, Premier Sports and the Racing pack for example They are only available through Sky, Virgin and Talk Talk |

What are you on about, the extra channels are FREE - they come as part of the compulsory Broadband service,
the channels in question are the AMC channel and the BT Sports pack The point, I believe, is that the "UHD package" includes HD as standard (and "BT TV Kids"), whereas they have to be paid for as a "Bolt-on" if you buy the "Youview+ package". I'll do an illustration of 2 packages and include HD versions of the BT channels in both: Entertainment Plus (Youview+ box) £10 per month + £5 per month (optional HD Bolt-on) =£15 per month ("BT TV Kids" available as a bolt-on for extra £4 per month) Total Entertainment (YouView+ Ultra HD box) with HD included= £16 per month ("Kids TV" included at no additional cost) Difference= £1 per month (based on new tv customer prices) http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/add-tv |

That wasn't strictly true; although I'm perfectly fine installing these kind of devices, I required it set up properly with my new TV, but only because I was getting all my equipment wall mounted, something I freely admit I can't do! Wasn't cheap as I'd bought the wrong TV wall bracket and the chap from AerialForce provided me with one for £70 (!) but all the work is done now and I am delighted with my new home entertainment set up. |

I dropped the UHD a while back to reduce costs but lost Sports HD as well in the hope that I could live with it in SD. Sadly, it's such poor quality that I can't, so I have just gone back to the UHD package (HD included) but the best they would do works out at an extra £3.50 pm instead of £5. Still cheaper than taking the HD sports bolt on though, and I get the UHD channel again as well, with no one-off costs. |

Crikey, that's a hefty installation fee, even with you needing a new landline.

When is the prices you quote for Total Entertainment from, as it just recently changed on the 18th of July 2016? .....
In my experience of BT, when I bought a tv package from BT at a new tv customer promotional price, the price I was quoted held for the length of the minimum term. I believe all the current tv package options have a 12 month minimum term. (I am referring to the central BT TV package above, and not any add-ons such as Sky Sports) |

I think BT have got their prices badly wrong .if I wanted to retain the UHD channel I needed to pay £21 per month for an entertainment package I am not interested in and is a lot less attractive since they lost Fox.
So for this money I was getting one premier game per week which more often than not always seemed to be Liverpool or Man Utd. Neither of which is worth this kind of outlay. With the introduction of sky UHD they badly need to review their packages and prices. |

Are you sure about that claim? BT will be showing 42 games in UHD and Sky will show 124 in UHD. How do you manage to claim that 82 extra in UHD is "not very many more games"?
Not to mention vanarama / Scottish / women's and also Aviva rugby, speedway and hockey... http://www.btplc.com/news/index.htm#...season-1508183 Meaning over the amount sky will be showing... And sky's cost...basic tv package £32 + sky sports £27.50 + multiscreen £12 + HD pack (if you don't want to watch sports in SD when UHD not available) £6, not to mention the install cost. |

The point I was trying to make was concerning 4K UHD games on BT. All these other matches you mention are not shown in 4k. The £21 package is required if you wish to watch the few games they show in the 4k format , which as i mentioned are heavily biased towards certain Northern teams.
I agree the whole package is much better value as long as you don't want 4k,which is what this thread is meant to be about. Quote from above press release :- This season will see BT Sport showing more UHD games than ever before, with at least three live games each week from football and rugby. This will include every Premier League game, at least 60 Aviva Premiership rugby games, at least 30 Vanarama National League games and 10 FA WSL games. Home matches for British teams in the UEFA Champions League will also be shown at least once during group stages and the UEFA Europa League will also be broadcast in UHD, as well as live speedway, hockey and the popular weekly studio show Rugby Tonight. |

I canceled BT Music when I renewed all my contracts back in mid January as I found I was not using BT Music as much as I was. Phone Line Rental is also £19 a month. BT TV Entertainment Max £12.50 a month(that's the discounted price). Broadband Infinity 2 Unlimited 76MB Broadband £25.75 a month(that's also the discounted price). I'm still using the BT Home Hub 3 and while Openreach modem. I have had BT TV with Youview nearly two and a half years now and will have had BT Infinity over 6 years. Come January I will see if I can get the same sort of discount again on my TV and Infinity broadband. Darren |
