I don't really see this as an attempt to save Chloe - it could go either way depending on how they react to the fallout of the task. I don't think things like this are used to engineer our opinions on the housemates - it's a task to get the prize fund back up. The producers can probably foresee the result of the task, and so then can anticipate the aftermath. And if it doesn't go their way, they will edit it to fit their agenda.

(which, for the record, I don't believe fits in with saving Chloe at this point. I'm not entirely sure what their agenda is at this point - probably something to do with Danny, but they're still making it up as they go along).
