I watch because of the Porsche/Reenie/Pete/Cleo abuse storyline & how well acted it is. As much as I hate the character of Pete the actor who plays him does so really well. Twinnie-Lee Moore (Porsche) is such a good actress & Porsche is a really good character. Employing Zoe Lucker as Reenie was genius, too.

I also watch because of the Lovedays & their storyline aswell.

Why do you watch Hollyoaks?

I've stopped tbh. I used to adore it but it got far too silly even for Kirkwood

Habit.

That's genuinely my only reason at the moment

Same here. I sit tutting at the stupidity of most of it, grunting at how shockingly bad it is and generally hating every minute, but still I watch. Have done since day one.

Because getting out of habit isn't easy and anyway I've been listening to it on YouTube while doing something else, Same with EastEnders.

My wife does and since she's 8 1/2 months pregnant it's not worth arguing with her about *anything*

You'd have to be loyal to keep up with Oaks these days

I watch it as a comedy show now. The worse it is getting, the funnier it is becoming for me. I can't wait to see what wacky thing's are coming up soon.

Habit, mainly. I really enjoyed it about a year ago but I'm struggling lately. The Porsche/Pete/Cleo storyline is what's keeping me watching right now. Though Pete (rightly, I suppose) creeps me out big time. I feel really bad for Porsche and Cleo.

Very good question.

For me, when Hollyoaks is good, it's excellent.

It's just a shame that that's very rare. I've almost lost any care for any of the characters.

The opening theme song and main titles are still great, and that little epilogue they always put after the end credits always piques my curiosity.

At this point, because it is amusing to try and explain what is happening to someone else.

"That's Sienna, she had a baby with her twin when she was 14 but didn't know he was her twin and her father told her the baby was dead then he abused Maxine who broke up with him at their wedding reception and the whole village knows about it but he keeps getting arrested and then released and is still in charge of the school with Theresa as his assistant, who is a murderer but we are supposed to forget that because now she is apparently some sort of angel..."

After Robbie taking central stage at Pheobe's funeral, I also questioned why I watch. Woeful episode.

To be honest I could not tell you why I still continue to watch it. Probably in the hope that Kirkwood will leave and it can get out of the black hole it's currently in.

Habit. But yesterday's E4 was so terrible I've not bothered with today's, don't know if I will. I can't stand it anymore, it's terrible and nearly always makes me really angry. Not worth bothering with, it's utterly stupid.

agreed! that whole devastated Robbie act doesn't cut it for me! he didn't even love Phoebe and never did it was always Nancy! I mean when he proposed to her in hospital it was just cringe considering he had little to no interest in her before she was hospitalised and then as soon as she buried he jumps into bed with Nancy which also is absolutely terrible that they have gone down in that direction

honestly i don't know why I keep watching I sit there for the half hour every night tutting, criticising and pointing every single mistake and any little thing that annoys me about it!

It really must be just a case of habit and hope that eventually BK will leave, and someone new will take over and at least try their best to recover the show, which to any producer won't be easy!!

The end scene earlier where the police showed up and both Robbie and Nancy jumped up and stuck their heads out the sunroof, lipstick smeared over their faces, was the cringiest scene in a long time. We rewound it and laughed about 15 times.

I like the opening credits too the fact though the characters are actually happy

At this point, because it is amusing to try and explain what is happening to someone else.

Very true. I remember trying to explain the Carmel & Sonny set up to my friends last year but I couldn't remember half the stuff that happened to them! It went like 'Oh Sonny is the brother of Carmels sisters husband who she shot dead etc...'

To be honest I could not tell you why I still continue to watch it. Probably in the hope that Kirkwood will leave and it can get out of the black hole it's currently in.
I couldn't really say why I watch it either. When the Lovedays are off screen it's boring as.

It has been good the last few weeks.
That depends, the Lovedays have been given a chance to shine in the crap baby kidnap plot (which has been forgotten!) & the abuse storyline has been taken up a notch. While the show is focusing on these two storylines it's good.

I turn off as soon as it ends, I'm too bored to watch the after credit scene. I remember genuinely getting excited for them.

Mainly because out of habit, and in hope it gets better.
But the hollyoaks daily Thread makes it more enjoyable to watch.
