I read on a post the other day that some Emmerdale stars/crew were going to go on strike before he left because of the quality of the show at the time. Was this true? If so, who were they?

I doubt that very much, they were all riding on a massive high at the time due to the success of the live episode. Then ITV effectively promoted him, so there can't have been anything negative attached to his time at Emmerdale.

This is more fans wanting a stick to hit him with I think, so just making stuff up.

I don't remember reports of anything negative, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't. Just like I'm sure there are cast members who aren't happy with the current set up. The only thing I remember that could even be slightly construed as negative is an interview with Jeff Hordley from not long after Kate took over and he said that their new producer knows how to tell stories and "pace them correctly". And though it wasn't a direct slight on Blackburn, his time was noted by fans for having stories that went round and round in circles so you would imagine some of the cast picked up on that too.

I don't think there was a huge problem with Stuart Blackburn. I think there is now though.
Natalie Anderson, Sammy Winward and Charlie Hardwick, who all played established characters, and had fairly safe jobs, are all pulling out, or have gone - and where is Jane Cox?

How was moving to Corrie a promotion? That doesn't make sense, to me anyway.

While I personally think Emmerdale is in a better place under Oates than Blackburn, there's no question that losing the amount of cast members they have so far is a big loss. And with more cast rumoured to be going in the upcoming storyline it's a bit worrying on who will be next. That doesn't necessarily mean it's down to a huge problem though, there could be any number of reasons for it.

I also don't think there's any cause for alarm over Jane Cox's absence. I don't know much about these things but Jane's disappearance seemed to come at a changeover with directors, which I imagine would mean that she either fell ill or was just unavailable for that block? Either way, she's not been missing for more than five/six episodes so I wouldn't imagine there's any cause for concern as yet.

It makes sense to me like it or not Coronation street is the bigger show. Better? Is a different story

I doubt the contracts permit strikes? Why sign a contract if you are unhappy

Three people leaving does not mean there are problems behind the scenes!

Natalie, has become the 'face of Emmerdale' and doing all kinds of work, so she will earn lots more money once she's finished filming with Emmers.
Sammy, just wanted to try and do something different for the first time since she left school. In an interview this week she talked about leaving Emmerdale. The way she spoke about her chat with 'Kate' and Katie being killed off, it made it very clear there is no problem whatsoever between the two of them
