Chloe gobbing off at Joel was unfair + why can't he have his own opinion , and Joel went along with the majority vote in the end for not eating the food. Jack wanted to eat the food too.

But Joel did not seem to understand that Sam was saying she'd have gone along with the majority vote either way , which they all would have done , so think he got a bit lost in that argument.

Danny shouted out to Joel that Joel's said he doesn't need the money,,,, so the clique will put him up next noms now , as there's their reason given by Danny.

That is where his argument fell apart. He was suggesting she was weak for saying she would do exactly what he did If only they weren't all so thick and massively defensive Joel could have been torn part over this.

Not quite. Joel voiced his opinion then accepted the majority vote. Sam, as she tends to do, voiced no opinion and just went with the majority for the sake of it.

Sam said that she votes with the majority, even if she actually wanted to eat it, she would cast her vote according to what most of them voted. If most of them wanted to eat it, she would have voted that way.

Joel's argument was subtle but the way I understood it is that what Sam was saying is that she would VOTE with the majority, regardless of her opinion.

This is not the same as going with the majority's decision, i.e. not eating the food.

Dont get Joels problem with Sam here. So what she didnt care either way wether they ate the food or not?

Yes. Joel was trying to point out that he at least had an opinion, and voiced it, whereas "people pleaser" Sam just does whatever she thinks will gain her acceptance with the group.

Joel didn't actually 'confront' them he asked a question and accepted their answer. If he'd 'confronted' them he'd have called them out on what he thought was a lie.

The others looked bad because they refused the food, thinking of the money first... when it turned out they could have had the food- instead of owning up and looking stupid they flipped it back on Joel and gave him hell.
